I have no idea quite how I'd managed to miss this remarkable presentation when it was first published here on RU-vid, but I'm certainly glad that I managed to stumble over it now! In my not-so-humble opinion, Ms. Judith Schaechter is the preeminent glass artist of this age. She's developed her unique techniques to better inscribe her remarkably haunting imagery. Her work remains visually distinctive, as different from the pastoral themed Tiffany and La Farge windows of a century ago, as today's smart phone is from the hand-cranked wooden phone boxes of similar age. Further, she is quite willing and able to enthusiastically discuss her methods and techniques, and to share more than a few sparse examples of her philosophy and experience, as she deftly lays out her stream of work. All artists should avail themselves of this singular learning experience - glass artists in particular - for to fully appreciate the wonder of Ms. Schaechter's art, some familiarity with the glass itself seems required. This is an hour long presentation that goes far beyond what passes for normal artists' talks. Here, if just for a while, you may remotely experience the incredible talent that remains nurtured within the soul of Ms. Judith Schaecter!
