I showed this to my grandmother who just turned 90 this past January and she recognized SOOO many of these films and had so much to say. She is a huge movie and book lover. My mom also watched who loves movies. We all had some laughs and are still discussing!!! Thanks for the topic to create another memory with my family. Much love to you and yours.

This is so cool! Never would've thought a single location, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, would have a tome-sized catalogue of history behind it. It's the Wilhelm Scream of location shooting, yet I've never recognized it before. Someone definitely should take up that ultimate panorama idea.

I'm such a nerd for film history, specifically lesser-discussed topics like recycled backlots, houses and other under-appreciated exteriors. It's a minor miracle that this valley location hasn't been trashed by production crews with so much use over the years. Great video -well done!

I live close by to these caves - there's a hiking trail next to it, so people can come and go as they please. I knew about it being the Bat Cave, but wasn't aware of how rich and varied its history was - thanks, James!

My favourite bit is that the original audio for when he's outside the caves was presumably unusable, and he seems to have just dubbed over himself. I don't know why that's funny to me.

Thanks James this is great, it inspired me to visit when I was in the area for work last week. Parked at Fern Dell Trail so I could see another Trek site, walked about a mile east to Los Feliz Blvd & Vermont Ave to see the original Vacation (1983) house, then took a long hike to the caves!

Haha in watching so much Star Trek, All these alien planets, I laugh when I see a sense of familiarity to these filming locations. There is so much emphasis on these locations being light years away, "Class M" planets that are very alien to people from earth. Especially the fight between Kirk and the Gorn. I knew where that was at XD. Thank you for showing this James. This was such a fun video! Seeing movie sets like this from so many classics just fills me with so much magic, nostalgia and smiles.

I'm not a native English speaker so could someone tell me: shouldn't it be four-dimensionally not fourth dimensionally? Just like you say two-dimensionally not second dimensionally.

English is strange so fourth is commonly what would be considered correct in the context.
