As someone who changed my parts (without fully combing all of my locs out) and combined several of my locs bc I wanted a different size, I think the best thing is to make any changes you need to make within the 1st year. Don't wait.
So if I have big parts and I want smaller parts for more locs should I just get em done smaller or should I deal with it. I’m 1 week and 3 days into my starter locs
@@S_pes One week is the perfect time to get your locs redone exactly how you want them. The locing process hasn't even started yet at this point - start over if you're really not comfortable.
I did my first set lasted 4 weeks. The person I went to said they didn't know how to cresent/c-shape even though I expressed this in consultation. So she did triangles and i hated it. But Im good now the new loctician understood the assignment. 💯💯💯💯
This is exactly what I’m thinking about now. I’m hearing that over a long period of time, diamonds aren’t ideal due to the weight distribution and stress on the points of the diamonds as they get heavier. You’re the only person I’ve seen with long locs with diamonds. But I also wanted to get diamonds because my hair is on the finer side. Now I’m torn 😅
@@juicy1219 EXACTLY!!! it was a hard choice but I combed mine out and restarted my locs. Had to choose Health over vanity. I realized that with how much hair grows away from my locs it was becoming costly and a bit painful trying to keep those parts in tact
How do you know I was thinking about it !😂😂😂 I have no issues with my scalp because I have a lot of hair but I installed my locks and it is chaotic😅 the parts, the sizes, the maintenance. It is truly trial and error. So thanks for reassuring me with the " you start over knowing that you can do it helped a lot
I have the c shape system and I like it!!! I got that 4c all around my head kind of hair lol and right at the bottom is a little more fine. I have like 67 locs and it’s giving full but not too much I’m 2 years and 2 months into the journey and I started off with braids.
Great Informative Video! I have the Diamond part but still have a lot of scalp showing-hair is super fine & thin because of A G I N G! It’s all Good though cause I Love my Locs!🙏🏾😇🩵
Yes, I feel I have way too many. I ask my stylist if she knew how to do the diamond parting system and she said yes. I wanted that system for a fuller look, but the diamond parting system is in the back of my head, the top and sides goes into the blocks system, 🤷♀ which makes it an uneven look (the top is too open). I realize this a year later. What an investment almost two years in, really don't want to start over. But It's on my mind to do so. 🤦♀
I have 30 as well. I like the amount b/c I didn’t want too much hair & my hair is curly but fine. Weird enough , I want to restart them only b/c of parts 😂
I’ve had my locs for 2 years and I’m thinking about having them redone because I’ve dyed them and I’m not happy with my size or parting anymore. I have 64 locs but I want more. Idk when I’m gonna take them down because I’m not paying $500 plus for someone to take them out for me 🥴 but I know I’m gonna relock them for sure.
Thanks for this video! I've actually recently been thinking about combing out my locs and starting over thicker, but I wasn't sure what parting system to use. Currently, it's the box method as they are small, but I wanna go back to triangular parting since they will be thicker. I had 86 locs, but I had to combine one of the smallest ones with its neighbour because it was so thin, it broke off. I'm thinking of getting maybe 60 this time. Would you recommend the triangular parting system for that number or just keep it at the humble box parting? My hair is 4c and voluminous btw. Oh and my hair is 12 inches long and I've been locd for 5yrs
