Unless you drink, Princess Plus or Princess Premier is a waste of money for most travelers. You have to do the math for your own specific situation. I just finished a 14 Alaska cruise. After I paid for my internet and gratuity, I still saved over $500 by NOT doing an upgrade. There are pleanty of food options and even if you wanted to add something like a trip to Alfredo's you still save a lot of money. BTW, I said on the Royal Princess out of Vancouver and it was wonderful. The ship was beautiful, the crew was amazing and the food was great! I'm looking forward to my next Princess cruise. Just one man's opinions.
We discovered your channel while researching Alaskan cruises and have been working our way through it. Love your style. Just watched the interview on the Creative Catalyst Podcast channel. So much of what you said resonated with us. We made just a handful of short films of boat life on the canals, but that got put on the back burner when we decided to sell and move back to land. Many hours yet to edit (hundreds of clips, as I often film for just 3 to 9 seconds at a time) - one day! I lived in London for over 30 years and need a regular fix; your insights are always welcome as so much has changed since I left. I visited Japan in 1982, so particularly enjoyed your video on that - notably Kamakura!
I usually book my guests into midship, mid-aft or mid-forward of the ship and in any of the middle decks (Baja deck 11 is great!) If they usually suffer with sea sickness, as this is where the least movement is felt! Even if not, most guests do tell me that they didn't really feel the seasickness... It may be affected by the waters you travel
Great videos. I've never been on a Cruise before. I'm very keen to try one out. None of my friends want to join so it will be a solo experience. I do battle motion sickness on buses and flights now and then, but I found these arm bands that seem to help. I'm based in Portugal at the moment, always wanted to see Alaska, but I wonder if I should do my first cruise here in Europe for a 2-night cruise before I do an Alaska cruise. Alaska looks amazing though.
I’d love to see your experience of different cruise lines or itineraries. I feel we don’t get enough reviews of those from people who travel in other ways like you do
I just love your videos, always beautiful, informative, interesting, so perfectly filmed and edited, and funny 😊 I would love to watch a Vancouver video too. Thank you for sharing.
Alfredos/Gigi's is no longer included @ standard--now 14.95 pp unless covered somehow in a package. See David and Ben's recent video regarding these and other changes now applying to all cruises regardless of booking/paid dates.
Good video. I am a Princess cruiser. Been on 9 cruises with them and love them. Glad you enjoyed the cruise and also Vancouver. I am from near Vancouver and would like to see your video of the city. I like to see others perspectives of our lovely city.
have gone on three Princess ship now the ship's lay out is similar ship to ship ... food is wonderful ... go Ala-carte on bar tho unless you really like to drink ... theres usually a daily drink special . watch out for the sun tho ... it can burn you fast if your not aware ...
Hey, you guys do awesome videos. Since you are from London I was wondering if you could please make a video for London in December. Things to do for a family , weather , Christmas markets etc. thanks so much !
I’m not 100% sure but as that’s closer to summer I’d imagine it’d be good. Have a google. The cruises to Alaska don’t happen over winter I believe so they’re only available when they make sense so…
@melh2333 mid-May to mid-Sept is great!! Let me know if you need any more help... enjoy - it's truly amazing! And noone does Alaska better than Princess - fact!
Dear monkeys, thank you for this and all of your content! I find your videos informative, enjoyable, humorous and perfectly edited! After having watched the previous one on this cruise, I entered their site in order to check available cruises and prices. I got the impression I can only book a trip through travel agencies and not directly through their site. Is that so? Thanks again!
Hey no worries. I’ve just checked with Princess and in some countries, you are correct, you would book through the agents. Let me know if there’s anything else.
I book Princess Cruises for my guests in North America and I'm not a travel agent? You should be able to call Princess direct and ask for a CVP (Cruise Vacation Planner). If you still struggle to find someone to help, you can ask for me, no problem.
In the Princess Premier package, drinks are included as well as unlimited casual dining meals (and of course, the buffet is included in Standard). Let me know if you'd like to know anything else 🙏🏽💙
We just came back from St Thomas on Sky Princes. Cons: 1. Medallion - it was absolutely ridiculous to expect senior citizen to install stupid Apps and try to rd small text in a phone. It was a long wait for customer service to help me. I had no use for the medallion. Just give me a room card. I would have cancelled the whole trip except I paid in full. 2. Safety Video - Most of the TV were not working to watch the video tat was require for all passengers. Most passengers were scrambling from cabin to he theater trying to find what was going on. In genera, almost all communication were poor. 3. There was no dress code. People wore whatever TF they wanted 24/7 liked they all came from the pool. .- T-shirt, shorts, flip flop. Formal nights meant nothing for over 50% of passengers. 4. Market Fresh buffet 24/7, our go to places for breakfast, lunch, dinner. It was not always crowded. However, the foods were not the best. They had lots of boring Indian, Middle East, European foods which were not suited for most Americans. No one wanted over cooked, dry, tough roast beef. I was shocked to see they served roast chicken pieces. They did had a variety of seafoods; fish, shrimp, scallop, oysters, calamari. I added the worst bacon in Sky Princess. They o American style bar-b-q. I missed meat loaf, fried chicken. They served almost no Chinese foods (fried rice, chow mein, dim sum, bar=b-q spare ribs). 5. 3 Main restaurants - I had reservation at 5:30 so never had to wait. However, the foods were not special and portions were small. I didn't want to ask the server bring more foods. We went there only on 2 formal nights so we can dressed nice and had romantic dinners..Grade B. 6. We never went to any shows, nothing special. 7. I am on Keto diet and alcoholic free, so premium plus or drink charge would be waste of money.
