My Goodness Sir...time just stood still while I watched this video. Subscribed to ALL! I am just getting into the day trading world at the age of 51. I have the time, a decent amount to start trading with and a NOW, thanks to you, even more focus and optimism. I may not get to sleep tonight. Very grateful for finding you and your channel ~ Cheers G
PERFECT! With so many videos answering the same questions I am always THRILLED when I find one right away which not only answers my question but answers my future ones before I've asked them! You've saved me so much time and I thank you for lending us yours!
One other tip is rather than have to save a scan to a watch list in order to click the symbol and have it populate in a chart, under the scan search results click the gear icon, go to customize, hit the drop down box, click action columns, click send to whatever color you want to link to that color chart. Then you can detach it and pin it to another monitor. This way everything is bigger and easier to keep an eye on.
I went to your website and bought your full course for $99 and I’ve been learning all evening. I honestly highly recommend your course to everyone. I very happy to have learned about the tight and the loose inconsistent spread in the “Tape Reading Strategies & Tactics” section in your course. Thanks so much 😊👍🍺🍺🌴🌺
Thank you very much! I appreciate that you donate your time to help out noobs, like myself... most RU-vidrs are trying to sell a course or even a simple TOS script. I just noticed in the "read more" that you DO offer courses, yet I don't recall you mentioning that or if you did it was subtle and didn't at all detract from the lesson... and, $99 is pretty cheap, I would wager that taking your full course would likely add over $99 a day to my trades, though there would be a bit of redundant information that I've already learned (still a noob though!).
I had to subscribe after watching this. You answered every question I had about ThinkorSwim AND you resolved my scanner confusion in one short, precise video. Thank you.

Hi, what is the difference between the Low Float Scanner and the Gains scanner? Trying to understand when to use the gains scanner and when to use the low float scanner. Appreciate the response! and thanks for the video.
Awesome video a lot of great info, Question: As far as the market gainers scan, how would we be able to actually take a position on these stocks that have already taken off and could end up dipping down the next day due to an overreaction or whatever it may be? Thanks!
You’re really good at being clear and concise . Been following you and Zed Monopoly. You guys are both great for different reasons, but he can’t compete with your clarity. Does the scan apply to gaps? I’m new.
Appreciate it, glad you're enjoying the content! these scans are really just for intraday and you'll need to see extended hours movement to scan for gaps. I do have a video talking about scanning for gaps that you can check out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AEe3UdVQ1_4.html
Awesome video. Thank you! I would add to include the yellow link on your chart screen, so anytime you click on the symbol you can see it on the big chart instead of the little one. Also, the bid and the ask may be useful to include so as to show the spread. A stock trading with a 2 cent spread between the bid and the ask is easier and quicker to fill than a stock with a 30 cent spread, and can result in bigger gains.
Good video. Thank you. I have one question. Is it possible to remove all of the volume, %change, etc of the pre-market? I would like to see increases and decreases and all other info from the opening bell. Is that possible on ToS?
great help for me. just a question over syncing the scan set up with the watchlist gadget on the side bar. mine doesn't show exactly the same list that's scanned in the main window. how to make that happening?
Thanks for this amazing video. It's super helpful. Question: are these scanners for pre-market as well? I heard that TOS doesn't track price change until market open (so volume change must be used). Is this true? And that "% change" is only for market hours, but that "Mark % change" must be used pre-market and after-hours. Is that correct?
Yes you can can use any scanner during market hours or extended hours, just make sure to have "mark % change" showing so you can see % changes in extended hours, which are otherwise only shown during market hours!
Thanks for the Great video,I was wondering is there anyway to have a scan set up to alert me to a select group of stocks that have for a watch list with increasing volume I like trading, for example large caps.
GREAT VIDEO, i have a question in regards to the scans and the watchlists. how often does the scans refresh, they how often does the watchlists scan and finally is there a way to speed up the scans or the watchlist to load the results of the scan in real time? also if im using the 1 minute chart or 5 mins charts, when i set up my scan and i have something like the study of "price direction" should scan for the same timeframe as the chart I use? im asking because if i use the 1 min charts but the watchlists or scans dont refresh until a few minutes later then is there a benefit?
Thanks for taking the time to post a basic, but excellent presentation for scanning and showing the interrelation between widgets (linking scan list, quick charts, and charts.
They are in alphabetical order by default. You can click on any column to arrange by other data. I always click volume so the ones with the highest volume are at the top!
Trading with Mr Mathew and his strategies is awesome, he has helped me to recover some capital I lost in the hands of incompetent Brokers/Account Managers but thanks to Almighty God that at last I came in contact with Mr Mathew via his mail that was shared on the net by good traders, since then I have neve lost any trade you can reach him.
If using the scanner, yes you have to hit scan to refresh. However, if you add the scanner to a watchlist, the watchlists in thinkorswim automatically refresh every few minutes so you won't manually have to!
If I use the first scanner throughout the day will it keep refreshing and adding new stocks that meet that criteria? If not, do you know of a way to automate the scanner so it keeps refreshing throughout the day?
If using the scanner, yes you have to hit scan to refresh. However, if you add the scanner to a watchlist, the watchlists in thinkorswim automatically refresh every few minutes so you won't manually have to!
Dont forget to color link the watchlist to the actual chart so that you can move the arrow up/down to switch between stocks on the watchlist and it will auto change the BIG full size chart
Thanks for the videos hey are sure informative. I have been trading for 5 years now and you always surprise me with things i dont know. Can you lease make an indepth video on indicators?
During trading hours because it will slow you to take advantage of it quickly when new stocks pop up on the scanner! If you wait until after the close there’s a good chance you’ve already missed a majority of the momentum.
When I try to set up the scanner criteria, it doesn’t allow me to leave the volume min or max blank, or the shares blank. Then when I press to scan there is no results. Do you know why that could be?
