Biography:
Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche (1931-2011), was born in Tibet as the son of Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, the former head of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Thinley Norbu Rinpoche was one of the most deeply revered masters within the Nyingma lineage, and he was also widely recognized as an emanation of the great 14th-century Nyingma scholar and practitioner Longchen Rabjam (1308-1364).
Thinley Norbu Rinpoche was the holder of the Dudjom Tersar lineage and father of seven children; Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Garab Dorje Rinpoche, Jampel Dorje Rinpoche, Se Ugyen Namgyal, Semo Kelsang Choden, Semo Yeshe Palzom, and Semo Pema Chokyi.
Thinley Norbu Rinpoche passed into Parinirvana on December 26th, 2011. (According to the lunar calendar the 2nd day of the 11th month.)
Dungse Jigme Pema Odsel Rinpoche, (Gyanata Rinpoche), was born on January 7th, 2013 to Dungse Garab Rinpoche and Khandro Rinchen Paldon, and was recognized by HH. DoDrupchen Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the late Thinley Norbu Rinpoche.
