I am so excited. A wig shop where I live abroad is making me a custom 20inch topper to match my long blonde hair...I tried it on a few days ago it is beautiful but it needed a little more warm strands so she is doing that. I have two Angelique wigs I love but the bottom edge irritates me some because I use Minoxidil so I can only wear my wigs for two or three hours...the topper seems much more comfortable....now I NEED TO LEARN TO style and work with my new human hair topper....I am a.little scared because it is so much pricier than my wigs but this helps SO much so thank you!
Sweetie if I could afford that hair I would style it just like you. FYI I used to have Farrah F hair. Started thinning 12 years ago. Our hair could be twins except you have more than I do at this point. Thank you for all you teach and show us.
I agree Jill, I have three HH toppers now..and I too find them easy to maintain..I really don't have all the maintenance that was always mentioned on websites. Bridget
I just wanted to thank you for doing this video I had been wearing wigs for the last few years but my two issues with wearing wigs is I don't have an occipital ridge so my wig slide right up the back of my head. And I tend to get migraine headaches very easily and wearing wigs is one of my big triggers. I can't even wear a stocking on my head before I put my wig beon. I just heard about wig toppers and I've been doing all kinds of investigating of them I get my first one in the mail this week. But as I love to do my hair different ways different colors I was wondering if I could be wear a blonde over my brown and you totally made me feel excited after watching this video. I had also wondered about back combing, I have watched about 20 videos and not one of them mentioned back combing. Thanks for the help and have a blessed weekend.

Jill, you look so pretty with the topper, but may I say, the blonde long wigs on you are gorgeous!!! You look like a supermodel!! Do the wigs look as realistic in person as they do on video?? I am wearing hair extensions that my stylist cuts for me and then I put hot rollers in so my hair ends up having a lot of volume!!! The problem is that I am thinnest on the front and top of my hair. It has gotten worse as I had thyroid cancer and my hair thinned all over. I just wanted to know your thoughts about wigs compared to clip in extensions and toppers? Thanks so much!!! Sheri
Thanks, Jill, I was SO glad to see this video pop up. IMO, you can do as many of these 'getting ready' tutorials with toppers as you like - they're VERY helpful to me. I have a few questions I hope you can answer . . My hair is very similar to yours in color, texture and density. Two differences are the length (mine's about what your earlier topper videos were) and I have a very, very thin spot right at the center of my hairline. I'm so self-conscience of it. I set my topper closer to the hairline and use both spray and powder to distract from that problem area. When I see you pull that bit of hair out, your topper disappears! When I do it to myself, I feel like it's a neon sign saying LOOK AT THE TOPPER!!!! I can't decide if it's all in my mind or not. Any suggestions to better blend in the very front? Second question is about hairspray. What was the brand you used in the pump bottle? I find the synthetic sprays don't hold at all, plus, I want something to help hold my own hair in with the topper as I blend the two together. Last questions is I get sweaty at the hairline and my bio hair curls up. This is another reason I feel weird pulling some of my own hair out in front. Any ideas how to deal with that? I was going to buy a full wig until I saw your demonstration video. I really just need something to fill in where I lost the most of my hair. Plus, wigs are hot in the summer and get itchy, not so good with my scalp condition. However, they're so expensive on my limited budget. It's been embarrassing to go out in public as-is.
I am going to get a longer Renau topper and try this, Jill. Uniwigs has so few colors that I cannot match them to my biohair (which is closest to a 2-4-33 blend). The way you do this, it looks perfectly natural and very pretty. Thank you.
Hi Jill, I just got a topper, human hair/silk top and have questions if you can answer them please. Is bio hair supposed to be shorter than topper? My stylist cut mine longer than topper and it doesn’t look right to me, especially because it is dark hair and topper is lighter. Also, Do you know what I would use to wash and take care of it? How much does this topper cost? I've tried some from a certain outfit here in town, and they cost me any where from $700 - $1300. Durable though, but nowhere as realistic looking as yours! I've never used clips. Do they tend to stress your own hair and cause any damage? I stopped wearing mine because they were thinning out my hair even more so especially around the edges. The hair dresser used the "weaving" method with some adhesive. Oh, btw, you always look gorgeous! Love your videos!

Jill,, I just ordered a very expensive human hair topper. I have no idea how to store it, is it okay to store it in its box? How do you wash them, and how often do you wash, do you use anything special to wash the human hair?

I use OGX Hydrate & Revive Argon Oil of Morocco shampoo and conditioner. It’s in bright blue bottles and is a sulphate free formula. I also occasionally spray some argon oil in my hands and smooth the ends.

I wear my hair very natural and have traditionally not used a lot of product but I now while wearing helper hair, I find it much more necessary to use them. The problem is I am Asthmatic and all the perfume and fragrance sends my lungs into a tailspin. I am having a terrible time finding good fragrance free products. Would you by any chance have any recommendation, especially for heat protectant and hair spray. I recently asked this in a very popular hairloss forum and I didn’t even get one comment so I was very discouraged. Also what temperature are you using on your iron? I hope you will reply! Thanks!!.

Man do I ever want to try toppers Jill, but on top where you call your 'anchor' I have so little hair and on the sides I'm getting so thin... Oh, and, is there a white or gray fill in powder?
They do have many toppers that don't have a front clip...I think you will have to experiment to see if they will work for you. They also have lace front toppers that you can secure with It Stays adhesive?? There are plenty of options, but you'll need some healthy hair to clip into with all of those options. ;) Regarding the fill-in powder...yes, there are grey options out there!
Hi Jill, I’m looking for some advice! I have been wearing toppers for about a year. The shade that I feel works best on me is shaded pralines and cream by JR. They are continually out of stock at Cysterwigs. I received a text yesterday saying they were back. I immediately went on and paid but I got a message today saying that they were out and they refunded my money, ugh. #1. Do you use a topper that is similar to top wave, essentially you, or easi hair XL but made by another manufacturer but similar color to shaded pralines and cream. I’m even considering to a human hair wig. I just need help!!
Carol...I finally decided to buy a human hair topper and it cost nearly $700 but I decided with Covid restrictions on again where I live I will buy no new clothing this entire year...that will pay for it for me...just the game I play with myself.
Ive been watching your vids and feel inspired but finding hard to find a topper to cover front loss with bangs... can you or anyone suggest ... would prefer human hair... thanks x
I get it I understand that you're on RU-vid but what I don't understand why it takes a person so long to talk about styling a topper for a wig or extensions I think a person should just do it and let people watch and talk as you go because I find it very boring by the time you get to put in you hairpiece on I'm ready to say bye I just don't have patience then I guess I must apologize for that but that's the way it rolls with me and I can't help who I am

Hair spray these days is water soluble, and will completely wash off the scalp and hair. ;) Back in the day when it was plastic ...that would be true probably!
