Ah, Matthew Lillard right before Scooby-Doo, coincidentally having to deal with ghosts.

Matthew Lillard did such an amazing job in this film. He’s so versatile and so severely underrated.

This is one of those movies that's always existed in the back of my head, but was never quite sure what it was called or when it came out. now I can finally figure this damn movie out after 20 years.

Netflix should make a series out of this. 13 episodes devoted to each ghost and a long special in which the events of the movie are remade.

This Movie single handedly contributed to 75% of my Childhood nightmares.

One thing that did stick with me was that Dennis does technically sacrifice himself for Arthur, and since Kalina is trying to get Arthur to kill himself for the ritual maybe it doesn't necessarily need to be a true love sacrifice, I think that Dennis became the 13th and Arthur accidentally used the machine to see when it would be safe to jump to his kids,

The black girl surviving did it for me. This wasn't a scary movie to me growing up, but it was a fun and creative horror movie.

Growing up Lillard was my favorite actor after his performance in Scream. I feel like I remember finding it on a sales rack or something and falling in love with it. Lillard really has always been underrated. I had no idea that it had like a cult fanbase almost. That makes me stoked. I always thought it was a really fun film.

i'll be honest, i actually thought i made up "ghost ship" in my head as a kid and you saying something about it freaked me out. i never really thought to look it up, it just kinda sat there in the back of my mind.

The end dancing was a funny as hell...savage!

I never realized how many references there are to other horror film: The Hammer's story is similar to Candyman. The circus one = "Tallman" and the movie 'Freaks'.

The Jackal was always the most terrifying ghost to me

It's always bothered me how the ghost's backstories weren't explored in the film. Time constraints, I know. But THANX for providing their backstories. I never get tired of hearing them.

This movie has so many memorable ghost that most people who watch this, when they were young like me, forgot the name of the movie than the ghost themselves.

Biggest stretch... Ms. Honey goes crazy after Ms. Trunchbull's abuse. Ms. Honey accidentally kills Matilda and because she had to leave ASAP, she changes her name to Kalina.

I love this movie. I actually loved ghost ship too. Just something about them. I dunno. Probably nostalgia like you said but I found them to be really creative and original with interesting takes on the ghost genre. That whole house being a trap used for a summoning ritual. A whole ship being haunted by ghosts, one of which is basically a demon or grim reaper and stuff, harvesting souls for trade basically. Plus the cast I a super recognisable to me. Emily Browning, Matthew Lillard, that dude that played monk, Shannon Elizabeth from American pie, this one actress from ER whose name escapes me right now.

If you notice, the actor that plays The Hammer is actually 2 people. They got a new actor halfway during production. If you look closely you can tell which scenes are with each actor.

Oh yeah, Ghost Ship! I remember really liking that one, as well as this movie. I actually saw this one again recently and it's not bad for the early 2000s, I still enjoy it. Now I'm curious about the original 1960s version and want to find it. Good vid as always! And the dance was hilarious!

The start was hilarious, reminds me of the Ghostfacers from Supernatural. Is Matthew Lillard dressed as an electrical guy a kind of reference to Hackers? It's one of my favourite movies.

I’ve always wanted dive into this movie because I have heard so much about it. Speaking of ghost ship, I really like that movie. I would be down with a video for that, but the movie did pretty much explain the web that caught everyone in that movie.

I thought the ghost designs were great. The Juggernaut reminded me of Solomon Grundy.

I recently went on a Vincent Price rewatch marathon, which lead to the house on haunted hill remake with Godfrey Rush, who paid homage to Vincent Price with the mustache. I really like that movie and 13 ghosts. - though I do recognize the minor flaws but compared to things like the turning and fantasy island, they hold their own. Mathew Lillard was great in this role. I do wish, like most, they had gone into more detail about the Ghosts and the Other dimension. I'm a glutton for lore and back story. Side note- the dancing was wonderful and hilarious.

This is one of my favorite movies along with House on Haunted Hill.

I’ve had a conspiracy theory since the FNAF trailer dropped that this movie was the reason Matthew Lillard got cast as Afton (and not his playing Shaggy, or at least not only his playing Shaggy). While his character in 13 Ghosts is quite different from Afton, the movies have a lot in common.
