Seriously. There are so many damn lyrics. Even Stephen Jenkins probably has never played it correctly with every lyric. Also, you never know if what you're hearing is correct, because if someone leave's out a verse, you'd never know.
How did you prepare for this 366 day challenge? I guess I'm asking about how long do you spend learning each of these tunes adequately? Are these all songs you've kinda been adding to your repertoire over the last 20 years? How many takes does it usually take for you to get a keeper? We have similar tastes and I read another comment you've been playing for 20 years. Well, so have I, and I can adequately perform - like maybe 10-15 songs! This 366 day challenge thing is pretty hardcore. Good job!
I hardly prepared at all haha. I just decided one New Years Eve that I was going to do it. I thought I knew a lot of songs to go into it with, but I ran out pretty quickly. I knew a lot of the lyrics to many of the songs already just from hearing them over the years, but not how to play them off the top of my head. But it's funny, the more songs you learn, the more you start to realize how many songs have almost exactly the same chord structure. That made picking out the melodies pretty easy for a lot of them. Honestly, I learned about 80% of them like 5 minutes before I recorded them lol. Most of what you see is just after listening to the song and playing along a few times. Then I just went for it and usually did it in 1 take. Thanks for the question. Keep on playing!
Completely cloned it. Nice job. I think you played the wrong chord in that one little part from 2:45 to 2:50, not that there are any points off for that. Great sound on the acoustic.
Oh yeah you're right, I just copy/pasted them from Google Play, which I've found is wrong a lot... As long as I sang it right though! Thanks for the heads up and kind words!
