I just picked one of these up at their shop in Nashville a few hours ago, brought it home, and I'm really impressed with it. Can't wait to play with it some more now!
Small detail but I like how the pedal shows how each effect affects the sound waves, useful for those newer to effects to understand what’s happening to the sound and how to utilize it
This sounds pretty sick, but you make anything sound amazing so who knows how it sounds with us mortals playing through it! I will say ive been really happy with the couple donner pedals ive tried. As a matter of fact my main subtle reverb for the past couple years is a donner verb square on the "room" mode, it's a perfect subtle always on reverb for what i want. The blues drive is really solid and i really like the triple looper.
Just ordered the limited yellow edition off Reverb for the heck of it. I own the Triple Graph, and am a huge Jack White fan. If it's got his name associated to it, I expect it to be solid. Looks like a fun pedal to play around with, simple easy to use throw in front of an amp and enjoy.
@maxwellbrand not certain by any means. I got the email, went to reverb and ordered the limited run minutes after. When it comes to TMR, limited usually means limited literally. I'd be curious to see how many they made in yellow.
In a time when the effects world is being overtaken by $2000 modeling pedals with touch screens and integrated apps, it's kinda nice to see a regular old-fashioned multi effects pedal. Really the only thing that surprises me about this product is that Jack didn't build a factory to produce them himself. But then it wouldn't be $99
Wow, that genuinely looks and sounds great! Seems to have lots of very usable and very easy to dial in tones as well - not what I would have expected at all! ⚡⛈️
The Echo's tonality is a genuine surprise. Fantastically analogue-ish. The phaser is confusing me. Doesn't seem a very Jack White choice of effect. Definitely a cool little thing for budget players.
@@last808 I heard it from a different site but I'm not sure, I've been at work and haven't had time to check anything out. Either way, it's pretty cool!
An expression jack for the phaser time or echo time would have been absolutely cool, there's no question this thing is still freaking amazing for 100 bucks!
Yes I'm hear to learn about the pedal (which reminds me a lot of the Tech21 Flyrigs), but Andy really needs to explain the "invisible pick" thing. Is he hitting the string with the index fingernail, or the thumb?
I have a Pearl Tremor pedal. While I like the sounds I can get, one of my biggest pet peeves with it is that there is a bit of unwanted nasty sounding distortion/output clipping on even the lowest of settings. It sounds like a dying battery which is funny, given the pedal only runs on a power supply. Its like the pedal doesn't have enough clean headroom. The phaser effect on this pedal board sounds similar to the Pearl Tremor, only without the unwanted nasty distortion & clipping. Interesting, thanks for posting.
Yeah, I have one too, and while it’s ok with guitar, it’s useless with pedal steel and its super-powerful pickups. I really want to find a phaser that the steel can’t smash!
For sure, but you can fit 3 pedals into an 1590C or DD enclosure. This looks like almost 5 pedals wide. Although I always have trouble with scale over video/pictures. @@NoahOlive
@@nate433 judging from video, it seems smaller to me, but I'll have till mine arrives to tell for sure. I wouldn't imagine it would be much wider than the Triplegraph
It's only about 7.5" x 2.5" , any narrower and it would invite accidental stompage. Don't forget it's not very deep either, standing up it's shorter than my Polytune mini!
The only thing I'd add is order switching between the the distortion and phaser, but that's a personal preference and for $99 I get why they hardwired them in the most commonly used order
I remember it from 60 Cycle Hum. And the verdict was the newer version dint have that Velcro sound because no limiter. I’d like to find the original one? Any ideas? Or any other budgetpedal that has same kind of fuzz? Thanks.
Not really. The tech21 has a sans amp built in and more effects. The rk5 is actually 3x the effects in this. I still like the combo in the dinner though.
who knows how it sounds. However, priced at $99 means downward price pressure on pedals. Basically, most pedals are boxes with ICs inside and a few switches on the outside. Mass-produced, they probably cost $40 or less to make.
Not impressed. Sounds OK at best. I believe people only say it sounds amazing is because of Jack White's name on it. If his name/company wasn't on it, no one would care.
Some are worth is some are not. I recently went through a container of 30 dirt boxes that I have bought over the last five years and I only kept three or four. I basically gave the rest away to the local music store for ten cents on the dollar. One of the ones I kept is one of the cheapest I own.
Exactly the kind of style-over-function bullshit I’d expect from Hack White lol. This thing takes up the space of like five pedals. Nice playing as always, Andy 🤙
How does this guy have a gig honestly? He doesnt play with a pic and pic attack is critical in demoing pedals. Matteo Mancuso is brilliant but his music becomes almost fender rhodes piano like in lack of variation from no pic. Pedals behave differently w/ varying pic response and harmonics that a fingers cant reproduce. He's no Pete Thorn as far as these compositions lMHO and l dont get what sustains him. Fair question.
First dude, it’s a guitar PICK not pic. Second, I seem to have missed which PICK is the universal demo pick standard as dictated by the Ministry of Standard Sameness comrade? Third, Andy is a legend. His pedal demos showcase exactly what you need to know about the pedal and sound true to what you would get using a similar guitar and chain.
Please don’t tell the thought police that at this very moment I’m imagining all my standard issue picks as all different colors, textures, thickness, even the texture of fingernails, and hearing all kinds of wild variations of verboten sonic blasphemy come out of my guitar from each one. I even went raw dog and used my fingers, HELP! The schnozberries taste like schnozberries 😵💫
For $99 … if i didnt already have my setup i would HAVE TO grab one ASAP. Regardless this will be one of the best entry lvl priced pedals EVER 🫡 I have to believe this is a godsend for many guitarist
