been on the C1 post for about a year now and i can safely say ive had no issues at all! still very easy to drop, no squish, and very little play (when compared to old B1 or a Bontrager post, even a Fox transfer). I used to say id never run a reverb again but honestly they did it right with the C1. The bleeding isnt even that bad, almost easier than needing to replace the cable/housing 2-3x a year IMO.

I just changed out my reverb for a Bikeyoke Revive. It's much smoother and the revive function works perfect.

I fixed my issues with my reverb by replacing it with a oneup. I will simply never use a reverb again. First thing to replace on a bike.

Ditto. And it's less expensive.

While I didn’t have issues with my 170 reverb I replace it for the oneup 210 (shimmed to 200) and I can’t see why anyone would pay what all the other brands are asking for. True the reverb was a little smoother and the new one supposedly even smoother but it’s not a suspension post focused on small bump sensitivity I just need the thing to go up and down and for 200.00 it does that perfectly.

My Bronson has the older version, and I hate it. I'm not replacing a problem dropper with another of the same. It's getting a non-hydraulic version.

its not the same. i do hate the older versions too. and i prefer a cable. but, its definitely "not the same".

Garbage. I'm not bleeding a damn dropper in 2020. The Fox Transfer has been flawless on 3 of my bikes. My only experience with the Reverb has been bad and this one doesn't look like it's going to rectify much and also ........................$399!!! Are you kidding me?

Everyone hates on this post but I’ve been using mine for over 2 years without bleeding it, only thing I did was top off the air pressure to 250 psi and it’s been working perfectly.

I dont have any problems too. You just need to pump it and than it is perfect

They're just unlucky mate... Me I do have my 2015 reverb use it from 2015 until now it still works good as new. it's only been service once last 2017 and i perform a bleed last 2020 overall it works good.. The only thing i notice it does have a play when i drop its travel but its not really a big deal cause when i drop it, that means its attack position on the trail we mtbikers always stand up 90% of the time on the trail especially on the DH no need to sit.. But when it's pedaling or climbing up a trail/fireroad that's the time im going to fully extend the post and sit on it and there's no play or sag that's happening.

I’d rather have squishy post syndrome over no dropper, I have to pick either slamming my seatpost down so I can have fun on descents or keeping it at a height where I can pedal well.

Anthony Walters yea droppers are the best. If you want a cheap dropper, get the brand X ascend, it’s 150$ and my friend has it and it’s really good

Get a FOX Transfer or RACEFACE Turbine R (basically a Fox Transfer lol) and call it a day! I don't mind bleeding my brakes....but why go through the trouble of having to bleed my dropper too when an option exists that is every bit as reliable, if not more so, than a Rockshox Reverb? Not to mention requires a lot less maintenance? Or almost half the cost? Just a thought....to each their own.
@simonwenzowski9148

At least anybody can bleed and even fully rebuild the reverb with some basic tools. When a Transfer needs service you have to ship it into fox, or take it to a shop that has nitrogen charge/vac bleed equipment. Minimum $110 USD. I doubt any self-respecting shop would charge you that to rebuild a reverb since it's only about 1-1.5hrs of work. I'm not repping the reverb, I just dislike both posts lol

Simon Wenzowski i have my transfer since 3 years and i never did anything on it other than lubing it every 2 weeks or so and it still works like new
@simonwenzowski9148
@simonwenzowski9148 4 года назад
@@maxkaufel4715 cool, I have a transfer too and it works great. Definitely more reliable. But it takes 10 minutes to bleed a reverb, and if anything goes wrong with your transfer there's literally nothing you can do unless you're a suspension expert with nitrogen charging equipment and allt he specialized Fox fittings. There are so many other posts out there by PNW, TransX, Bikeyoke, Oneup, just to name a few that are serviceable and reliable.
@kangsterizer

you have to service the fox as well.. except you gotta send it back to fox for that
@brewkeepyr4647

All great posts as well as points made. I mentioned Fox Transfer because I have the RACEFACE Turbine R.... which now is essentially the Transfer. One Up, PNW etc etc all produce affordable and reliable droppers. My main point was basically budget and simplicity and I have had tremendous success with my dropper. Super super easy to install, set up and maintain. I don't have to bleed it. If when the time comes I'll have no issues getting it serviced. Appreciate the comments.

My Santa Cruz Bronson v4 came with the new and “improved” Reverb. About two months later it had the squish… The shop reset it with the tool and it worked…for two rides. Sent it to SRAM for warranty service and it worked…for few months. They put a band aid over the issue and it was marketed as a "solution". Every SRAM component I have had has failed and this is the last one I will own. I will not use any other SRAM products. Fittingly, in my native language SRAM means SHAME…

Can it just extend half way but not fully extend? Like 150mm travel, and I just want it to extend to 75mm sometimes.

@waldchiller4695 4 года назад
I had the bike yoke and it would sag each time i transported it in my car laying on its side even with the reset function it would still sag 1-3 mm which is acceptable but this does not happen with my C1 reverb. Have 25.000m of up and downhill on it and works just fine and feels more solid imho.

I have 2 old reverbs, one regular and one stealth and I'm servicing them by myself. I've serviced the regular one about 3 years ago and it didn't develop any play or sag since then... I'm quite sure that the majority of cases with reverb's "squishiness" was caused by a bad service.

glad that it works, and its not expensive, u can get it for 260 euros in europe, including lever and bleeding tools... as much as i want to buy others like one up, i so hate to pay 70+ euros for stupid remote!!! u can get a top end gear shifter for this kind of money, that is more complex and works smoother than those shitty levers!

My c1 ended up with sag 4 months old. A lot of riding mind. The valve works too but removes about 97% of the trapped air and leaves about 2-3mm sag still. My old reverb was a pile of shit

The reverb suffers from that dreaded SRAM syndrome, where they make up a “problem” and then proceed to fix it with a more expensive solution, just like AXS. Since when have cables been a problem? A shifter/dropper cable is like 3 bucks, but they rather have you bleed your dropper or charge your shifter
@michaelmcclure3383
@michaelmcclure3383 4 года назад
Yeah, of course they would haha
@timoturner1193
@timoturner1193 4 года назад
Cables aren't a problem, but AXS and other electronic shifting is a huge technological advancement. Do you not want companies to strive to improve their products? Cables are great when they are maintained well, but stretch and become sticky very quickly. electronic shifting removes all of this.
@mravocadoman2999
@mravocadoman2999 4 года назад
Tim James im all for strives and progress, but wireless shifting to me seems like a step in the wrong direction. MTB shifting is pretty outdated and gearboxes seem like the logical next step, not a $400 branch catcher you gotta charge

Get a OneUp or a PNW Rainier Gen 3(only $179) and call it a day. Save the other $200. I'll never understand the need to spend $400 on a dropper when there are so many good options at $200 now. And they aren't slow or unreliable like older droppers. $200 posts today are good all around.

“Game changing” bleed function, then shows a Revive. Forgets to mention that with Revive, no need to remove seat. Smh

That was a Divine. No external bleed valve at all, that one auto-bleeds every time you drop it...
@lukasbormann4830

Why would you not just use a cable dropper instead of a hydraulic? 😂🤔
@vitalmtb
@vitalmtb 4 года назад
we're not here to defend either solution, but we will point out that the hydraulic activation is NOT the troublesome part of the old Reverb. Hydraulic activation actually works really well, and in our experience does not require much in the way of service or attention. The squishy post syndrome is not related to the hydraulic activation, they are completely separate circuits.

No no no. How is it possible rockshox makes some of the best suspension and one of the worst droppers? I’m not impressed with the new version. If it develops squish off the top you can take the saddle off and fiddle with the bleeder valve and saddle for 20 minutes on the side of the trail. Not my idea of a good time.

Bikes get flipped over and stuff! Why sram thought it was sealed unit ? Sad but went ahead before properly sorted! But shouldnt be sold when had the sag bs. Now ! Airlock seal maybe ? Need full wright to force oil one place to place shouldn't be? When company races forward with bs problems and think its ok. Then fix issue 7 years after initial bs! SRAM should know better as forks aswell!

Rockshox should replace the old posts for free for everyone who bought or was forced to buy (with complete bikes), not have the audacity to charge $400 for a shitty product which was guinea pigged by thousands of customers. Vital, you shouldn't be "ready to endorse it" just yet... As other people said, OneUp posts are half the price and 50x as reliable

Barti Attila, they actually do. My Reverb that came on a. 2016 Santa Cruz 5010 was replaced for free under warranty in February of 2018 for failure. It was replaced with the next revision.
