From discogs.com: "“Third Uncle” and a stunning, ferocious version of “The Fat Lady Of Limbourg” are actually live recordings from the 1976 Reading Festival in the UK featuring the legendary 801 as the backing group"
Awesome Eno and Manzanera - all tempo and swirling mosaics of sound, the Genius and his apprentices, a looming fore runner of the thrash and verve of proto punk. Would be most excellent to see this live... Will, does, can... ENO TOUR? Words from Ross MacNicol. Taranaki - En Zed.
And the crowd screamed out for more! Happy 67th birthday Brian Eno 5/15/15. Thanks for all the wonderful music you have brought into the world. #ExterminateISIS
This is not a BBC Session from 1974 but this is Eno performing live in 1977 with the band 801, with Phil Manzanerea, Simon Philips, Bill MacCormick, Francis Monkman and Lloyd Watson.
I own the 801 Live album and the sound throughout is pristine. I 1st heard it at friends and thought it was a studio recording until the song ended and the audience applauded! This is not that recording!
check out the version of Babys On Fire...pre-lp, no Fripp wanking, just sped up and raw changes. Most of the Peel Stuff is different and punchier than the lp, which is also awesome. Good thing Roxy either booted him or he left, because they made a few more stellar lp's and his first 3 were equal...i dont think he was in charge in Roxy Music, Ferry was steering that ship
