If the Mercedes dealer was unable to sell it there's either something wrong with it or the market for the car is really bad. It's possible the last owner had too many problems with the car and traded it in for another one after it's last service visit. If that's the case it's possible the dealer didn't want to retail it to one of their customers. Unless you can get the story from someone at the dealership and the reason they're dumping it at auction is something like just too much inventory I would stay away from it.
@@PremierAutoMan86 If the problem is the local market I would have sent it to one of the auctions in Dallas since it's closest really big market to Oklahoma.
Something I recommend when getting in a hot car is roll down the windows with the A/C on. Once you feel the cool air, roll them back up. That helps me when I take pictures of cars
Randy why would a dealer push that Mercedes through the Auction? You might not make 10%+ on the S500 but I would settle for a couple of percent. You know it still has Mercedes Warranty on it too.
I would avoid that. At my dealership all used cars are shipped off after 90 days. The nice ones are bought by the staff. No nice vehicle makes it 90 days on our lot.
The problem with that Mercedes is that someone with 90-100k to drop on a Mercedes would rather spend the extra 10k to buy a brand new one instead of a "used" one even only a year old.
I am a big fan of the mid '90s Impalas. Rear wheel drive V8, basically a four door muscle car. I'll never understand why everything went to either four or six cylinders and front wheel drive. And don't let me get started on the CVT transmissions that are everywhere now. They're the Pontiac Aztek of transmissions!!! Great video Randy. 👍🇺🇸😎 (I thought that Mercedes was a Maybach at first. Somehow, I managed to score a similar w223 s-class as a rental from enterprise a month back. It had only 250 miles on the clock and apparently i was the second one to have rented it. Loved every second of it. Put over 500 miles on in 4 days of local driving, they're amazing cars.

Would def stay away from the S-class in todays economy... hard to sell luxury, depreciating cars. A cheap Ferrari will prob not be that cheap but they will almost guaranteed appreciate in value. And a hell of a lot more fun too! $68k sounds like a 360 to me. The 355 is nice too. The 355 sounds sooo sweet!
Randy, don’t settle for a Malibu LT, you will regret it, or you will continue to want the Impala LTZ. I wanted a Maserati Quattroporte, but I bought an Audi A8 instead because it was a good deal and I regret it. Now I’m selling my Audi so I can get the Maserati.
In the 90s registering my firebird v6 was over 1000 bucks the dealers did not finance tax on it. Georgia collects the tax at the sale and the roll in into financing. I drove that car on an expired tag for 2 years. I had insurance.
Hello Randy. The 2022 Mercedes S500 is a great looking car. The 2021 Ford Branco Sport is a good looking SUV. The Chevrolet Malibu is a good looking car.
GET AN IMPALA!!! I love those cars. The 2006-2013 and then the 2014-2020 are both beautiful cars. My personal preference is the 2006-2013 but to each there own 😁
We got offered at car max 28500 for our bronco sport being 2 years old with 37k. The sticker was only a little over 32k new! The sticker now new is over 37k with the same equipment. We only paid 29k before the car shortage and all the crazy stuff happened. We didnt sell because the cost of replacement on a bigger vehicle!! Ours is cactus grey with better looking wheels.
I love the Chevy impala they really stopped making them in 2013 but really 2016 for the fleet models if you can get a LTZ in that year you will have the best one
Financing a Ferrari through the actual Ferrari dealer finance options is second to none and not at all hard to get as they understand the value and appreciation on there vehicles, the F12 is very nice
Something with those Malibus, the 2019+ models that aren't the Premier have a CVT that everyone seems to hate. If you ever look at one find either a Premier, those have the 2.0T and a 9 speed, or a 2018 or older, all of those have traditional automatics.
Hey I have been watching your videos a while now and I don't have a problem with any of your content however for business wise I think you should start investing in newer cars where u can make an easy flip to start increasing your income apart from the unique collection you invest in. And also opening your own dealer lot can become a thing for you.

The S class seems to be a weird spec with luxury in the front but nothing in the back (I didn’t see rear climate control) which I would say most new S class customers want to be the passenger over the driver especially it’s a S500 not a v8 nor AMG
Someone may have mentioned this, but an LS, or LT1 Chevy with a sunroof is almost 100% a rental car. The last Impala was made in February 2020, and I can almost guarantee 80% or better of those made after July 2019 were rental cars. Sunroofs and no leather, or leather with no heated seats. Leather and a roof with basic climate control, watch out for those.

My coworker has a 2018 chevy Malibu and it has around 96k miles on it and transmission went out and luckily my coworker has insurance that covers 100k miles and he was lucky enough to get new transmission.
Huge Depreciation will be hitting at that S class on a 3 monthly basis, would be a lovely purchase but the clock would be ticking to sell it before you take a hit.
Big money = much harder to sell = more risk. I think moderately priced cars are the better bet. Ask yourself a question...if it was that easy to sell, why would the Mercedes dealer send it to auction? They can offer financing...you can't which is another disadvantage...
I'm rather surprised you walked right around that blue camaro and went for the jag which you didn't even want anything to do with. I liked the S500. They are somewhat reliable till you get to many nanny aids which all cause problems.

randy silver isn't a bad color most of my cars have been silver due to being easy to clean compared other colors i have had a couple white cars but they do show the dirt and brake dust we all have our life's and dislikes in vehicle colors
Hi Randy, it's a strong no on the S class, you just had one. Also the worst car I ever owned was a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, which I later figured out that that was about the time when General Motors killed off the Pontiac and Olds divisions and they were hurting for money, so my motto is to stay away from GM from that time frame. Also I don't know much about these but it seems that you could get a impala SS for the last few years they made them which were nothing but a rebadged McClaren (not an expert like I said) but if that's the case you need to be looking for one of those. 😀✌❤
The greater the risk, the bigger the reward...typically. Problem is, the typical customers for that price range are extremely finicky. That's a risky gamble, if you have a specific customer in mind, then why yeah, it'd be a no brainer, otherwise, no.
