You should test the Genesis by using it as your daily driver for one week, then the Cybertruck, and do a comparison between both of them - a $100k vs. $100k daily driver.
The cartoon truck will fail at everything. FUGLY, terrible finish, no massaging seats, self driving maybe eventually but you have paid for it! And will cost a good deal less for 'fuel'
that would take about 2 seconds before the cyberDUMP needed a recall or just rusted into the ground. what a pathetic pile of junk. my 29 year old, 200k mile GOLF has less rust than the average cybertruck AT DELIVERY BRAND NEW. im sad he wasted his money on that instead of something actually interesting.
In 2018, while attending a car show I noticed a beautiful car in the area reserved for Rolls Royce/Bentley new models. I thought that it was a new Rolls model, but it turned out to be the new Genesis G90. I considered this model to be the nicest, understated example of a full-sized luxury car with the best body lines. The new car price at the time was in the low 70's which made this car a fantastic buy. In 2020, I found a beautiful, low mileage first year example and paid only $40K. My G90 has turned out to be the best, most reliable car that I have ever owned. True, understated elegance for a very reasonable price. By the way, my research indicates that this model in South Korean or Western Europe sells for a much higher price. It seems that Genesis wanted to penetrate the American market at any cost.
Do you remember what you saw the G90 going for in Asian/European markets? I'm curious how much of a discount we are getting for them to try for an invite to the 1%-ers club. Honestly, as good of an argument as the G90 is for Genesis being more universally considered a luxury brand, the mass market Kia/Hyundai SUVs/Crossovers that they have been coming out with more recently look so fantastic compared to the competition that they are moving public perception of the brand up market on their own. It's a good sign for any brand when your newest models for consecutive years are so good looking and popular that people are _happy_ to pay $10-15k over sticker in order to ensure they get one. Now they would be smart to work on their reliability, because while they do offer the best warranty available on new cars, I've heard it's hard to actually _use_ the warranty when things happen, and looks will only get you so far if reliability is lacking.
@@moogle68 Several years ago when I checked on the Asia/European prices they were around $100,000. My car is now 7.5 years old with low mileage and I have had no mechanical problems at all, just routine maintenance.
I'll say it... You guys have good banter. Hoovie is full of information and sales presentation, and April is full of observation, taste and curiosity... She's asking all the right questions.
Poor, April. First day on the job and the car is already trying to replace her. 🤣Definitely a good idea to have full self driving in case your chauffeur falls asleep due to the epic massage features though. Genesis has thought of everything!
They’ve done studies proving that massaging seats prevent fatigue which prevents falling asleep at the wheel. Opposite of what you think but true. Makes sense to me!
Tyler, I love how your videos are full of innuendos saying things like "In the front you have wood" right after April lounges in a supermodel pose. 🤣🤣🤣
lol I gotta say seeing april get more comfortable with this format has been great to watch over the last few months. Hoovie seems to be hitting his groove with having a co-host as well. Watching you two have fun together is great
The thing I noticed about the G90 when I test drove one was that the adaptive speed control sensor was in the grille behind a plexiglass shield. Cars like Honda have the sensor naked and ready to be taken out by any passing rock ($2700 ouch!). Your comments remind me of the orgasmatron from SLEEPER.
I've driven/worked on most of the new Genesises...Genesi? Whatever the plural is, I love them. Comfy as hell and they drive pretty great, too. Can't speak for the longevity but with their warranty you really can't go wrong.
Here is the fact. RU-vidrs promote Genesis by praising them (sponsored by Genesis) but no RU-vidr will buy one for themselves. Depreciation on flagship Genesis are so bad. You can get 2023 used G90 for $60k. 40% depreciation in one year. 2022 G90 is $45k 2021 G90 is $38k and so on.
While mine doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the G90, I absolutely love my 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T. It is fast AF with the twin turbskies. It was the 2019 Motor Trend COTY.
I have been wondering when you’d get around to Genesis. My wife and I have a 2013 Genesis and while it’s not as nice as this G90 but I’ll admit our Genesis sedan is a great car. We have been many many places in this car and is very very comfortable on long drives it does all I could ask for in a sedan. The 3.8 V6 is 333 hp a non turbo motor gets 30 mpg on the highway and does it in total comfort. She bought in 2019 for 15k and so far its has been trouble free. I’d buy another one again. I prefer non turbo and no EV.
Not only it looks good, it is a lot less pricier, it is better or equivalent equipped, but it has something even better. It works every single time, and doesn't need fixing all the time.
Love the G90. It's such an awesome car. Also this car can be had for $85 to 90k with discounts. Also hoovie the G90 also comes in a long wheelbase version.
As much as I groan at the thought of a Hyundai/Kia’s typically, this one impressed me with what they can offer for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately I don’t think land yachts will make a comeback, but I applaud Hyundai/Kia for trying to reignite this market
I think the Hyundai Genesis, and the subsequent 1st gen Genesis vehicles are one of the best value used luxury sedans. I'd love to see one on Hoovie's channel as a comparison to this. They get all the depreciation of a normal luxury vehicle, with the added depreciation that people do not care about this badge at the moment. I would anticipate you also get reasonable Hyundia reliability, which other brands cannot say.
@@nealewalter I have a 2011 Equus w/ 122k on the clock. Had to replace the rear air bags and front air struts. Bought them on ebay and had an Indy put them on. Maybe $1500. Other than that, oil changes and tires. Great car.
I got a Citroën Spacetourer van here in the UK and it has massage seats that give the perfect full back, pelvis and ass massage. Dam it's nice!!!😊 It's the perfect family mover. It has a 200bhp turbo diesel engine with an 8 speed automatic gearbox that pulls like a dam train and does an easy 48mpg! It has the most amazing stereo system with 9 speakers and 2 subwoofers and it sounds amazing, and it has the most comfortable leather seats you could ever wish to sit in and all this in a CITROËN!!! The media system in it is fast to respond and is packed with features. It has adaptive cruise control, fantastic climate control and air con, it has mood lighting, it has enough seats for me and my family plus room for my mobility scooter. For me it is the perfect van. Much better than anything else available on the current market, believe me i looked long and hard at every manufacturer before I settled on my Citroën. 🙂
About a decade ago I heard that Hyundai, or Genisis were shooting to provide vehicles for livery service use. From what I am seeing here they have made it in spades. There will likely be a number of these providing luxury transportation by livery service companies, and some will get cut apart and stretched out to become limousines. It sounds like the goal may have been met.
The grill and the headlights look like the Genesis logo. Automotive Press said these cars have almost three times the paint thickness compared to other cars.
i adore old vw watercooled cars, and my favorite all-time wheel design is the "snowflake" that came on the early 80s GTIs and was optioned on others like top trim Jettas. so the BBS/snowflake design to me is just fantastic. i absolutely LOVE these wheels. they cross elegance with sport in a very nice way that can appeal to the sporty look or the classy look. winning. overall, it's an excellent looking car. it has great clean and soft lines, i love the grill and double slit headlights that im seeing on all the new Genesis cars. it's both aggressive and simple at the same time. their design team is on overtime, and they are absolutely nailing it. from what Hyundai was years ago to today, night and day. their leadership and teams are knocking it out of the park, home run. that is a fantastic machine from nose to tail, 10/10 would drive. and i HATE al new cars that arent full EV, cuz im one of those strange vw freaks... yeah, i do have meetings and therapy about it haha
I never had any problem with any genesis ive bought for my lot n drove them over 5k miles hard too see there really nice the people that say bad things never drove one
As someone who works in the auto industry I feel for the people that have to put all that fancy tech into a car like that to build it. Nice car none the less!
@@memertmemes2586 I never get the answers, but it's always an electronic failure It's usually the electronic shifter or hybrid component. Or that's the dash messages the car displays.
There will always be people who don't care about a brand's pedigree. They will choose lesser models and kid themselves (They think It's just as good). It takes year to develop a reputation (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche). You can't be a real luxury car just by copying luxury features and saying you are a luxury car. The day you can sell a Genesis for the same price successfully as the Maybach will be when they are regarding as the same. Don't believe that, ask Audi or Acura (Phaeton or the NSX)
Tyler, you’re the luckiest dude alive, to have a partner that digs car stuff and listen to you or at least involves herself in what you do, and the fact that she’s chew your tongue, forget what you were saying, supermodel gorgeous, is beyond words. You two are also the cutest damn youngsters couple I’ve seen.
I liked my Genesis but, flipped it after the dealership could not figure out a vibration issue that I had in 4x times to have fixed over an almost 2 year period. They pretty much told me too bad, so ya, never again. I felt like I was being treated by a Kia dealership from the early 2000s. The dealership "Genesis" Experience is not what it was cracked up to be. Too bad, the car was great other than the constant vibration (there was issues with trim pieces as well, needed replacing every half year). Hope other experiences people have are better. This was in Canada.
I have been watching Hoovie garage for over 3 years now and out of all of them this is the best one ninja the best German auto technician and you can't forget car Ninja 😊
Our G70 has been a satisfying car for 4 years and 50k miles. Would love to pick up a used 21 or 22 G90 with the 5.0. Unfortunately the dealer network has failed to grow and deliver quality owner support.
What the Maybach interior really makes special to me is that Titanic salon looking roof. The (real?) wood also looks like an actual gentlemans club, way more special than the tacky "forged" carbon and ambient light stuff you can also get as an option in most modern middle class vehicles...and they should have gone full electric with the Genesis, that V6 sounds extremely stressed and noisy compared to yesterdays mighty V12.
Having owned a GV80 for 2 years I can tell you they are nice but there dealer network and service kill it for a lot of people. Hyundai service with a concierge price tag sucks when you spend $80k+.
