So here is a quick follow up video to the initial review I did of the Hadean EA-100 NA... This has become one of my favorite acoustic/electric guitars to play, particularly when doing covers because it adds just a little bit of nuance to the song. Hope this video helped you out and as always, thanks for watching!

Right on man… My headstock is a natural finish… There are a few different colors out there, the other popular one I’ve seen is a flamed maple top, really good looking but wasn’t available at the time I bought mine. I think it’s actually available currently

I want to order it but also want to upgrade to bone nut and saddle. Is the nut the size of a standard acoustic, classic or like an electric? I ask because I heard the neck is more like an electric guitar neck or at least smaller than the traditional acoustic.
@FretboardDiaries
@FretboardDiaries Год назад
🤔 interesting question…. If I remember correctly the neck radius is the same as a Les Paul, 12”… and the next width at the nut is 1 7/8”… So it appears it’s narrower than a standard Classical guitar, however, the string spacing in the nut is closer to a classical guitar if that makes sense…

I have this guitar, with alittle setup this guitar is great,chambered body full eq, electric style neck that is radius. $ 199 dollars, this is better than the Ibanez and Cordoba offering. for alot less money.
@FretboardDiaries

Not gonna lie I absolutely love the Cordoba stage but at $750, my Hadean will have to do 😂 😂 😂… That said, your 100% right that a simple setup turns these into great guitars. I play it soooo much that I’ve more than gotten my monies worth out of it 🤘🎸

@@jlmcgrot I WAS debating between this and the Ibanez FRH10N, and while money always matters…especially at 2 1/2 times the price…it doesn’t at this particular point in my checking balance matter that much to me. That being said… The Hadean is a 12” radius, the Ibanez is almost 16”. I think 12” is as flat as an electric player is going to want to go. Also, I think the Hadean’s body shape is better suited for the kind of music I’m going to play on this. The Ibanez is almost Tele-like, too small. Next, I have no problems with the Ibanez’s lack of controls. (I have a cheap solution/set-up for this which I can explain if you want. I amaze my family and friends with this!) But controls are INCLUDED on the Hadean, so why not? Regarding build quality. $200 versus $500. Now that’s what I call a big difference! Except… I bought a Hadean Tele a few years that matches up in every way with other Tele’s costing twice as much. A negative with the Hadean is the jack position. If you want to play anything in real classical style, the bottom of the guitar sitting between your thighs, you can’t connect the cable. It stabs your thigh. So I have to talk to a luthier to see about moving that to another spot, whether the chambering makes this easily doable. And have him throw a bone saddle on there and lower the action a little, if I think it needs lowering. So it’s no longer a matter of deciding which. I’m getting the Hadean.

Is there a truss rod adjustment? Guess the main difference between this and the Ibanez FRN is the sound hole for unplugged practice?
@FretboardDiaries
@FretboardDiaries 9 месяцев назад
Yes it has a truss rod… Keep in mind, Ibanez will have much better fretwork though. The FRN doesn’t appear to have a sound hole either. This Hadean is almost silent unplugged, wish that wasn’t the case, but I believe the FRN is similar. Look at the Hadean like a budget version of the FRN, FRN is definitely a better guitar, but considerably more money
@mozaic_channel
@mozaic_channel 9 месяцев назад
@@FretboardDiaries Thanks.the Ibanez has a sound hole on the side, ironically where the Hadean has the electronics control panel and aimed right at the player’s noggin. I have not been able to play or listen to one yet. Agreed though, the price difference is significant, watching for sales.

@@mozaic_channel oh right on man, that explains why I couldn’t see the sound hole from the photos… I haven’t played one yet, but never noticed it from the photos. I wonder how much sound it actually provides? I got to play the Cordoba Stage and absolutely loved it, considerably more money, but money well spend… Although not the loudest acoustically the tone was full and beautiful

Have you (or anyone watching) compared this to the other budget nylon electric on Amazon, the bullfighter? How loud is this without amplification? Just curious. It’s not a dealbreaker either way.
@FretboardDiaries
@FretboardDiaries 2 месяца назад
So I don’t have any experience with the Bullfighter guitar from Amazon… What I can tell you about this is that without amplification, it’s just loud enough to hear in a quiet room. I kinda like it that way because when everyone is asleep, there’s no risk of waking anyone. That said, if you were Sitting around a fire pit or with a group of people, no one will be able to hear you… That said, I have a little Blackstar Fly 3 acoustic amp, runs on batteries, ideal for sitting around the fire pit or playing out back. So that’s what I use for those settings. Hope this helps 🤘🎸

Yeah it’s very quiet when unplugged, which is nice because I can play outside late at night without being loud… I also have a little 3 watt acoustic Blackstar amp that I play it through when I do want to get some volume portably.

Thank you for the video! Came across it at just the right time! One question- Is the fingerboard of this guitar wide like on classical guitars, or thin like on acoustic and electric ones?
@FretboardDiaries
@FretboardDiaries Месяц назад
It’s wider like acoustic and electric ones, but not as wide as a classical. I’m not quite sure of the specs off hand, but it’s definitely a bit wider than your typical electric/acoustic, but not by much as a classical. It almost needs to be out of necessity because nylon strings have more movement than steel strings.

So this guitar was run Line-in to my computer… The acoustics in my room make it difficult to mic-out (it actually sounds better through an amp) I just ran it line-in to my computer, recorded with GarageBand using a BiasFX Nylon guitar setting… Hope this helps, and thanks for watching

@@FretboardDiaries Thanks. SO it's more like the software setting built-in sound what I hear than the actual guitar sound

Not really, just eq’d with a little bit of chorus… No different than if you ran it through your amp and just added a touch of chorus. In hindsight, for a demo, I shoulda left the chorus off, but the effect is minor and the guitar does sound great without it.

I was the same way with drums… I probably shoulda been a drummer, I used to drum on everything but my parents were against it… A friend lent me a guitar when I was 14 and I was off and running. With that said, I now have a Roland Digital kit that I use to track drums, and I’m decent at it, without ever taking lessons… Music definitely comes from the soul

The problem is that the bridge and tuners aren’t designed for Metal Strings… So unfortunately no, it won’t work… If you’re looking for a budget guitar similar to this, but with metal strings, check out some of the Harley Benton models on Thomann’s website… Fantastic guitars! If you’re looking for a little higher end, check out the LTD TL6…

Nice work on making it better and that's my gripe. One doesn't buy a car without brakes that need to be fixed before you take it from the dealer. Why do guitarists put up with this poor quality control? Are only "high end" guitars ready to play out of the box and other than personal mods, good enough. I bought a new epiphone dove and then had to spend extra cash for a technician to make it playable. Damned ripoff!
@FretboardDiaries
@FretboardDiaries 4 месяца назад
I bought a Schecter CR6, mind you, an $800 guitar (clearance price was $550) and it felt like it was never touched as far as the setup goes. I’ve come to expect now, that if a guitar is under $1,000, it’s likely gonna need a setup, and even then, I’ve seen some awful setups on $1000+ guitars. You make a great point that we, as guitar players, have just come to accept this. To be fair to guitar companies, action and neck relief can be thrown off by both temperature and humidity. So I tend to give them a pass on that. There are some issues though, that are just head scratching… Sharp fret ends, rough unleveled frets, and noticeable finish blemishes are all things that shouldn't be appearing on $500+ guitars… So…… with all that said… a guitar like this, sub-$200… I kinda expect those issues and hope for the best. I love cheap guitars, but also recognize their limitations. So I've learned how to fix these things to keep costs down. Perhaps I'll do some videos in the future on it, I'm definitely planning on doing a vid on filing down sharp fret ends, as soon as I can get over this freakin' cold… haha… Anyway, thanks for the comment and thanks for watching
