My medications cost $11,000 a MONTH! This is insane if I had to pay myself. I have a medicare provider and the VA provides my drugs. This plan looks like something people should evaluate.
With cost of living Medica- is way to high plus adding dental and eyes. I was on plan g and like the advantage more. As you get older cost of medigap keeps going up as we get older. Crazy!
@lifeisgood15…..Is this in reference to Cigna Medicare ADVANTAGE Plan…..or does this include even the Cigna Supplement Plan too? I really need to know. I also just learned, that Cigna had sold their Medicare part to Health Care Service Corporation. It would have been nice to know this before I switched from Aetna…..but I still have time to switch-if I still want to. I have read that HCSC is supposed to be good……but I don’t know. Anybody out there have their supplement with HCSC, but under the Cigna name? Has it been good?
I have a United healthcare advantage. I was told to change over to Medicare part a and B and pick up a supplement, but the supplements are running $388 a month. Is there anything else out there that will allow me to go anywhere and thank you so much.

@Cindy-ou1uf….I have had Aetna Part D for the last two years, and it’s VERY SELDOM that I have my prescriptions go through Aetna, as they are TOO HIGH! I generally use my SingleCare card…..it’s saved me a LOT! I have hated paying (extortion) money in the form of premiums, for an insurance I basically can’t use! So I’m going to WellCare this next year, with the zero premiums! Yay! I don’t like paying for insurance that I can’t use anyway.

I am 63 turn 74 in march I have a Advantage plain now and I want to change to suplamental A+b with G and I was told that I have to wait till I am 65 is this true.
That is correct, most states do not offer supplement plans under the age of 65. Here is a video we have about this topic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hTwF6ME9oeM.html
I have been on armour thyroid for 50 years. Before 65 my work insurance paid for it. (United Healthcare) but since on Medicare ( United Healthcare Advantage ) it won’t cover. My dr even sent in a letter they wouldn’t cover it. It was grandfathered in so it’s not fda approved but is fda controlled. I can not take Synthroid meds. I was bad on it. I was on armour thyroid since I was 18. In the 80’s we tried Synthroid and it did not work for me. I’m 69 years old. I’ve paid cash for it since 65. What do I need to do to get it covered? Thanks!
I am 63 I have limpadema I have a Advantage plain and I can't get any help . Thay keep sending me to get my legs wrapped and that Is not doing any thing for the reason that thay are swilling what can I do
You can ask your provider to write a formulary exception for the carrier explaining the new diagnosis and why you now need this covered and added onto the formulary for the year. You will have to find a plan for next year that then includes that rx. But the formulary exception would be good for the calendar year.
You will have to set up an appointment with someone on our team so they can narrow down that area and give you accurate pricing for those in your area. We are more than happy to help. You can call our office at 1-800-864-8890.
I have medicare advantage with the $2000.00 when I pay my deductible and the $2000.00 they say they will not pay for my copd medicine...which is trelegy ellipta inhalation powder ..it cost almost $2000.00 every 3 months so the drug benefit that they lowered to $2000.00 won,t help me at all........any suggestions????????
Trelegy is a fairly new inhaler and therefore quite expensive. Ask your Dr for an equivalent in inhaler that is not as expensive. Remember, there are many COPD inhalers that work just as well, and have been on the market for longer so they are not as expensive. When new medicines come out the drug companies encourage Drs to prescribe because everyone makes more money. They want patients on the new drug, even though it is not necessarily "better". Before Trelegy came out people were using other inhalers right? It's all about the money. They promote the new drugs because the price is sky high and drug companies make a billion dollars more. Insurance companies fight back because they know there are equivalent medications that work just as well, so it is hard to get them to pay for anything new. The price of Trelegy will come down once it is not a new drug. Drug companies are out of control in pushing Drs to prescribe the most expensive drugs. Ask your Dr what were people using before Trelegy came out? I bet whatever it is works just as well. You can also ask your pharmacist what people used before Trelegy (although I would trust a pharmacist less than my Dr because pharmacies also get a cut of the jacked up prices, but some are honest and will give you other options). Someone in government needs to crack down on the drug companies and the sky high prices they are charging. Unfortunately, you can follow the money. Just my opinion of course.
