In 2004 this truck would cost $27,000 when a median household income was $36,000. In 2024 it costs $45,000 with a median household income of $69,000. That means this 2024 Ranger is 65% of your yearly household income. In 2004 a $27,000 truck was 75% of your household income. It's safer, it's more powerful, it's more efficient and it is a better deal than what you would have gotten 20 years ago. People don't understand inflation, they truly don't.

@@Kylewatchesstuff Average car price is a useless metric in this case. EV's have driven up the average price significantly. I did it by household incomes (1 or 2 or more breadwinners) and the closest spec to this particular vehicle. Cheap sedans and coupes were also a larger share of the market 20 years ago. Inflation drives up the price of EVERYTHING and it is the number one factor here in why people think trucks are so expensive compared to before. It feels like you can't afford it because of the cost of everything else being so high. A realistic inflation of nearly 25% in 4 years. Nobody would bat an eye at these (reasonable for inflation) truck prices if housing, food, utilities, and fuel wasn't so damned expensive. If they think about it they're actually demanding a very large discount. I don't like it either but a proper perspective is required. I'm mad that my condo costs $270,000 when that used to be a two story house.

Have you had doors or windows replaced in your home? Have you had to replace the hvac system in your home? Everything is expensive. Material and labor cost to manufacture something is incredible! It just gets filtered down to the end user. The mid size trucks are all fairly close in price. If you can't afford it, don't buy it!

Who are you shilling for? This isn’t a good deal what did $46,000 buy you five years ago? Now it’ll buy you a little truck with damn near nothing in it and that’s a good deal? It’s about 10 grand overpriced just like every other vehicle out there on the market.

The oil filter in the 2.3 for XL-Lariat is in the driver side front wheel well. From what it appears, the oil filter for the 3.0 in the Raptor is a top side oil filter - the long paper kind. Not the canister type like the 2.3 has.

While I think they did add more standard features in the XLT this generation, price is a bit of a sour point for me having paid $42k for my 2021 XLT Tremor. Guessing if they bring the Tremor to the USA this gen, the XLT Tremor will likely be a $50k truck. About a 17% increase over the previous gen, guessing we are all paying the price for the failure the Lightning has been.

For the third year running, Ford has issued more recalls in a calendar year than any other US automaker. As reported by Automotive News, partial NHTSA data reveals that Ford issued 54 recalls in 2023, affecting almost 5.7 million vehicles. This represents a 21% decrease from last year. In 2022, Ford issued 65 recalls affecting over 8.6 million vehicles. 🏆🏆🏆💩

I hate the turbo trend. Turbos add more components that will inevitably break, and they wear down the engine more quickly. If you want to TRY to get the same mileage out of a turbo engine, you'll have to use premium gas, negating any meaningful difference in fuel economy.

Because the truck sits low enough to the ground that you don’t need them. Every time I get out of my buddies midsize truck, my leg rubs against the step. His leg does too, he always complains about it, but he’s just too lazy to take them off.

New ranger looks very nice but I hope they improved the 10 speed transmission tuning. Last gen tuning was really bad amd reliability record of 10r80 hasnt been great. As for price compared to Tacoma, I'd say it's very comparable. TRD off-road Tacoma with heated seats and big screen comes out to 46k...same price as this. This is a very competitive segment now.

Nitpicking some of your arguments vs. the Tacoma. The Tacoma's rear storage bins are actually a bit larger than the Ranger's. The Taco's rear seats are 60/40 split, also. And as far the silly Taco air dam, it's easily removable, which I bet 90% of people buying the truck will remove. But really, I'm liking both of them.
