yeap, it’s that simple. and he lets people stop his path to the basket. alex stands straight up on defense when he cuts people off so if kyree stayed low he would pass him every time
Idk at what level(s) Kyree has played, but he's clearly a better 5v5 defender than 1v1. Too intimate for him, especially due to his offensive limitations. I commed him for managing to come away with the 8 points. It only gets better from here.
I know Alex still got the W, but I liked that Kyree was able to take what Qel said about slowing down his drives to avoid the swipe from Alex. You rarely see guys actually listen to what their sideline is saying and actually adapt mid game

This was supposed to be a defensive battle between both, kyree clearly only guards 94ft in 5s, but doesn’t play defense in 1s….im dissappointed In kyree lol
he need some more one on one experience. You could see the clear difference in how Alex is more comfortable and polished with the ball no matter who guards him vs. Kyree who isn’t as polished. If Kyree could work on his one on one game, he would be more deadly all around.
Kyree offense wasnt bad but he was playing shy like he was scared of how close he was & was getting froze maybe thinking too much about how to escape. His defense was definitely lacking almost like hes never defended a bigger player & doesnt really play defense or practice it. Im glad he didnt give up though, he made some real tough shots.
experience is the key here. Alex been in these situations before and already had the confidence going in. The more Kyree plays in these types of settings against high level hoopers with stakes he'll get more comfortable.
His actual words after he said he sucked was positive. But he started off terribly wrong. LoL. Thnk he meant he sucked TODAY but that aint how it came across.😂
Did you not hear? Kyree was the one talking reckless in the beginning. If you can't stand the heat, then… Alex and Fomby both talk when they start rolling.
