I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or whenever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That'd be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

I completely agree; I am over 50 years old, recently retired, and have approximately $1m in external retirement funds. Exactly what I’m doing again this week. The smartest thing I’ve ever done was having 30% in cash to buy on the way down in 2021. It hurt watching 30-40% discounts drop to 50, but grabbing Google, NVDIA, Apple, and others near the bottom has paid off. I love the bull outlook but I’m not confident to should hold all equities
Excellent info. My problem is when it starts dropping I think it's going to keep dropping for awhile and I wait so I can get the best deal. Next thing I know, it's back up again. I'm retired so don't have as much time but don't need the money for at least ten years or so. Gets tricky for me

Well uncle ji gave me confidence abt my strategies too. 1. Caping investment on the individual stock. 2. Holding it. 3. Promoter holding and profit. 4. Don't limit to 10, 20 or 30 stocks only. One thing I was neglecting was newspaper and information stuff. Thank you ADB and uncle ji.
The KEY point I liked is to get the stocks which is at 40% higher then the 52 week low. I have been following the stocks which is 20% lower then the 53 week high for less period stock holding. SUPERB his former is perfect for the long term I felt will have to do the same as well. mix of both. Cheers !!!!

His life is a book in itself , with many different chapters of difficult ones in beginning and slowly moving towards a beautiful and smooth finish and he is still going strong with a lot of steam left ! His patience , calculated risk taking ability, analysis for failure and success ( both ) are great and is a learning lesson for all seeking knowledge about financial market, especially diversified stock investing ! I too have stock portfolio of 307 stocks ( after having reduced around 50 stocks only last month) built in last 4 yrs ( most after corona started and I stopped working in a post retirement job ) Good to know that others too have such a large and diversified portfolio like me and have doubled their money in 2 to 3 yrs ( But i advise only those to follow such large numbers of stocks, who have nothing else to do after retirement, not for full time job doers ) I happy that i met my match finally with regards to a large portfolio in terms of numbers! Samjh nahi aata kis pr yakin kary or kis pr nahi.Isliy kisi ko follow mt karo. apni strategies banunga or ek din interview dene aaunga mein bhi.😊
Highly Motivativating . I was having 100 stocks but was difficult to manage i reduce it to 50 some i sold in loss. But Should have hold most of them are now more than 100% now. Big mistake

I started in jan 22, bought 200 company, waited patiently.... sold off company giving 30% of profit and high on valuation... profit invested in under value growth oriented good stocks. Today having 50% profit and 151 company.
