Seriously my favorite from this series. I love that you talked with the owner and she broke down some of the things that made her Airbnb so successful. I’m even rewatching!
I love how you went through the business aspect of the AirBnB! From your vlog channel, I was just expecting a tour but knowing your channel, I should known you’d discuss the monetary aspect :))
Paige must have been very confident to pay $425K based on a quick five minute look of the place! Shelby, you did a great job editing this video. Felt very professional!
Buying property during April-August last year was an excellent idea... And 425k for a cabin near Yosemite?? That thing will pay for itself in 5 years and be gravy after that, she made a great deal
@@networth00 I did. Bought a rental property in April of last year that has been a great investment. Of course I knew by that time we were being lied to and covid wasn't the end of the world and I live in a state where we were free to go about our daily lives for the most part so there was no reason not to invest like normal.
@@Zero-Wolf she’s making bank with that cabin and I’m sure she looked at it more than 5 minutes just knew within 5 minutes she liked and wanted the cabins
What a beautiful cabin! It looks like it would be super cozy. I like that she used the same bed frame in all the rooms it looks like? Gives it a bit of that "hotel" feel. Everything is super cohesive and that wallpaper is so cool as well! :) Would love to stay here!
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon I think based on the listing saying it sleeps 9, if you're a group of friends renting it out and splitting the cost, it doesn't seem too bad. I guess it all depends on your length of stay and who you have staying there with you. :)
Yeah, I was thinking it would be cool to take the second upstairs bedroom and make it a nice bathroom. I have a feeling it would be really expensive $$$. Maybe something to do down the line.
@@ShelbyChurch agreed! Plus for 2-3 day stays the extra bedroom makes more sense from an income generation perspective. It's alot easier to rationalize 600 per night cost split 4 ways over 500per night split 3 ways with an extra bathroom.
@@ShelbyChurch If its directly above or beneath or fairly near your current plumbing its not that bad ALSO as its a standalone you can get a lot of plumbing that goes on the outside of the house.
Thank you Shelby, the video turned out amazing! I’ve loved A-frames since I was a kid and plan on keeping the Yay Frame in my family forever. Hosting on Airbnb was a way for me to afford an A-frame. The reason I paid $75k over asking was because there was 17 offers in 3 days, then counter offers. I felt the home was still under valued and understood its earning potential. Most of the renovations were from the previous owner and a lot of the furniture came with the home. I mainly decorated and did small renovations. I plan to add a bathroom one day, and there’s another full bath in the separate cabin. You get both when you rent it. If you get real desperate there’s also an outhouse ;)
@@gamepro866 you literally in the middle of the woods.. why would you even need a bathroom? just embrace nature and go into the bushes or to the creek. lol
i love how you went through the aspect of theAIRBNB! I love the great effort you put into your videos! Keep it up! These ideas you get are awesome I might start a channel just like this. thanks for the inspiration :)
Loved this vid. I like how you give us the real deal money info. We want real numbers, and you give it to us. Please do more of these when you can! Thx!!
My husband's parents owned an A frame like the one you are showing. The guest house is really the caretakers house. Usually, they would hire someone to stay to take care of cabin (and live in care takers house) and make sure squatters wouldn't take over...also to keep flora and fauna under control by cutting and trimming, etc.
Great vlog Shelby! I love when you show property and yours in Palm Springs is going to be awesome when it's all finished! Hang in there, take breaks like these to replenish, and know that you're doing a great job! Love from Massachusetts
A-frames are pretty popular on lakes where I live (Midwest) and my biggest love AND hate with them is the massive windows. The windows are stunning and make it feel like you're in nature, then I think about cleaning all those windows and want to die lol.
@@ShelbyChurch Please do tell me about the American real estate market. I keep reading the asking price being lower than the sale price. Why is that? Whats the process that makes the sale price higher than the asking price? Does the owner get only the asking price and rest goes to the agent? What is going on here? Thank you. @UCDxVJ1aMELnwupwRfEZ4_kQ
Great work again. Though you're noticeably tired in this video through your voice. Hope you recharge and have the success you worked for. Thankful for the content you produce.
Great video. Amazing place. Let’s not forget that if the house isn’t paid off she technically doesn’t Own it. She still has to pay taxes on it and that’s 10 percent of what she paid for. If she’s really make a good amount then it would be worth it.
Hugely inspiring! I'm motivated. Beautiful place. (And mildly entertaining listening to the upward inflection in sentences and the number of "likes". Reminiscent of "Valley Girls")
Your videos are always so well filmed and narrated. Even though I might not always be interested by the topic of it's a Shelby video I know it will be a great video anyway Xxx
I loved this! I loved how you described everything. This was so cool and I’d like to see you do more stuff like this! It would be cool to see you back up on WA maybe stopping by some family owned restaurants to get them some some fresh new business. You have a big WA following! Keep up all the good work!
Shelby this video convinced me to make my unique home into a B&B & find others to renovate. I was on the fence until now. Can I have you come do a review please when it’s done??
On the editing side of this video, using Adobe Premiere, 3:08, you should buy a gimbal for stabilization and not apply the warp stabiliser on your entire clip because you end up with warping as you have. At 11:00 to get rid of the humming by using a denoise effect. Best of luck in your journey.
Great video Shelby and indeed, a very cool house ;D But so fascinating to hear the story of how she got it and such, so interesting. Hopefully you learned some tips from her for your Airbnb too!
Hey I used your Lyft code, got *one dollar* off my my first ride, I’ll admit one dollar off wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but it did make me laugh 😂
Shelby your videos are all interesting and fun. I could really see you put a lot of effort and research in your videos. I need to do some research to make my Channel more interesting. Btw your home looks great. I love that it is white. It sure enhances the beauty of your own home. 😊
I assume it has utilities electricity and water? and sewers? internet/cell coverage? 10 grand a month is definitely impressive if at all sustainable. Mortgage is maybe 2. Buy more land, build a couple more in the general area? a new build can have good insulation.
These houses actually originated in the country called Georgia it is called Georgia it is like an old country country and because of high snows in the mountain people invented these kind of houses so snow wouldn't get stuck on the roof Because it is very dangerous is the snow falls from the roof snow can be up to 3 to 4 m minimum
Awesome. I am building a glamping business. I have been working on it since January. I just finished the 3-year business plan and marking strategy. I have an investor but I still need 2 more investors who can put 20k each into the first phase of building and are willing to build it with me and the other investor.
