I first heard of Soldano through George Lynch. He was my guitar hero growing up in the 80's and I was a huge fan of the tone. I am a pedal junkie and get most of my own sound thru them. The SLO100 is the only amp I run with NO pedals (other than a tuner and noise gate) because the tone is so killer. It's down right now waiting on tubes (still hard to get some models) but it will be with me until I die and my sons sell it. It's the one piece of gear I tell them not to accept a low ball offer! lol

Love Soldano. I have a 100W Hot Rod Avenger. Great for playing larger venues, but not practical for home use. I retubed it with 6V6 tubes to lower the ourput but it's still overwhelming. But it sounds so good!

Re 3:30 - The Soldano in the Last Train Home music video is not Tweed, it's Snakeskin. There are some shots of it from behind the scenes where you can see the amp more up close. So it's not the same SRV one by that point unless John had it rehoused which is super unlikely. I wouldn't doubt that John owns at least one of these being such a massive SRV fanatic, but it's not the one in the music video and therefore probably not the one on the record. Really cool to learn about the SRV version of the amp though, that's a super interesting amp! Great video on it Mimi!

Nice Amp. I have a Carvin X 100 B black tolex white piping just recapped....mint....2 4x12 cabs loaded with celestions...its the 6L6 first version...like Zappa endorsed in the guitar player mags back in the early 90s...sounds awesome with my Strat.

I have a mini soldano tied to a Harvey Benton 12 inch. It's so loud. It's a powerhouse, for my office!!

Invaluable experience for you playing with these guys. Each time I hear the latest cut your overall improvement is quite obvious. Playing with pros sure helps doesn't it?!!

I remember Stevie was talking about the Soldano going back and forth with it ... I lived with a Hendrix collector there and he knew a guy out of Houston that had 4000 hours of Stevie on EXCELLENT QUALITY VHS STEREO. The same guy that had that had most all the Hendrix and knew and introduced Stevie to a collector I spoke to Stevie about who was on west coast. Stevie said they stayed up all day and night for 4 nights and never listened or watched the same Hendrix show twice and Stevie told me as long as he wanted to keep listening the guy just kept playing tapes. Stevie told me that in person at night in Antones Kitchen at the club on Guadelupe right next door to Stubbs and you could not smell STUBBS AND NOT EAT IT. PERIOD... STEVIE WAS A BIG KID HE LOVED TALKING GEAR AND TONE AND LIVED AND BREATHED IT EVERY DAY.. I SENT TOMMY PHOTOS TO BUCKNERS EMAIL OF STEVIES CABS AND ILL SEND MORE OF THE 2X15 CAB WITH THE SSS SHELL ON IT.. Id like to hear Wes Fuzz and the Pedal Pawn pedals Offer still stands for you to come play the Dumble and Stevies cab...

One of my electronics service customers has a standard issue SLO100. He is also a vintage McIntosh stereo owner. ( tube and early solid state ) IMO , the Soldano is better built and constructed than any of the tube McIntosh equipment I’ve seen . Just an outstanding product in every way . The quality and workmanship exceeds just about any esoteric Hi Fi product I have serviced in my 50 + years . And I’ve seen them all…

The difference in ur playing of Pride n Joy from last vid to this is very noticeable. More confidence and cleaner playing. Def would have liked to seen more of the solo,u were rocking it. This the difference from youtubers playing in ur home to backing tracks to playing with a live band. Playing with other musicians is going to step up ur game
