OMG I'm so glad ya'll are watching this! It blew my mind in every way, and it raises the bar to a level that I didn't know was possible. It's seriously a work of art! Enjoy!
Mizu is half Japanese and half Caucasian. That is why she has blue eyes. The black samurai you mentioned is called Afro Samurai with the voice of Samuel Jackson and the songs from the Wutang clan.
yatsuke was African not black American. Too much rap and American slang in these crappy adaptations..An African man tall, slender and dark People thought he was a god in some places in Japan. He learned Japanese enough to be a retainer.
@mern2974 yes but Afro Samurai is a Japanese anime inspired by his story, by a Japanese creator who is a fan of hip hop. I wouldn't call it an adaptation
It's funny that you said a black samurai wouldn't be a possibility especially during that era, but an African man named Yasuke became a Samurai in service to Lord Nobunaga in the 16th century in Japan. Yasuke was most likely from Mozambique and he became the first recorded foreigner to join the ranks of Samurai in Japanese history.
When the Japanese saw Yasuke, they thought he was covered in ink as Japan (and much of East Asia) had never seen a black person ever. So when they washed him, they were shocked that was his actual skin.
Y'all are so real for reacting to this! Not enough people are. It's fantastic, and hopefully will get a second season! Your reactions are always some of my favorites.
It’s funny you guys mentioned a black Samurai, Netflix has an anime based on the true story of the African samurai called Yaskue! It’s amazing and came out 2 years ago you guys gotta see it!!
I am so excited you're watching this show, it just gets better. It is worth a rewatch because the visuals are so rich and the characters are compelling..
OMG! Guys, i didn't know you were reacting to this series. Please don't stop the reactions, the series is so good, and you guys are great. I love to keep watching it with you. Keep it coming!
I saw that you guys were watching this, so I decided to check it out. I'm so glad that I did. The show is fantastic! I love your reactions, they are raw and natural.
Despite views I hope they continue this. The dialogue is great and voice cast too. Cary who voices the smith is shang tsung from the old mk movie and voice him in mk11. Brenda song is the princess with her advisor voiced by George takei, hiro from heroes series voices the big guy and more. The writer of the series is also doing the script for the mcu blade movie.
wonder of wonders, the actress voicing the blue eyed samurai is herself the daughter of a japanese woman and a white father. how's that for authenticity?
I don’t know anything about this but I work at court and a security guard was talking about this and I just watched the first four episodes and enjoyed them
I love yalls channel so much, but what I really want to hear about is how yall met/your journey because it’s obvious yall boys and hearing how you became successful together I think would be dope for the fans
You can tell she made that sword since it has her name stamp. You can also see it on the knives in first tavern fight - it sorta easter egg from the flashback, when the swordmaster told her like "make a thousand kitchen knives then you can try to make a sword". And you can find another easter egg about the marks on the sword in the next episode (there are two marks on some sword).
So happy to see folks reviewing this show. So many people slept on it but it is fucking beautiful. Losing your top knot was a serious problem for the Samurai. That goofy lop of hair was the badge of how you show others that you're a swordsman. It was meant to naturally be a symbol that goes away as you age. So getting it chopped off by your opponent is basically the "Nah your done son" cut.
Netflix has an animation series called Yasuke it's about a black samurai who existed in Japan during the Sengoku period .. it's also where the idea came for Afro Samurai with Samuel L. Jackson.
its interesting you noticed the creaking floorboards. a deterrence to intruders. its mde with small wedges, placed between 2 pieces of wood, underneath the floor. when pressure was applied, the wedges would press against the wood and creak
Watched this after Onimusha (which was really good) I didn't know exactly what this was about. I did learn that Michael Green wrote this with his wife. This was a blast and I'm excited for you to continue this series. It definitely lived yo to the hype in my opinion.
I'm watching Onimusha right now (I'm 2 episodes in). Finished Blue Eye Samurai today and I'm waiting on season 2 already (which has been confirmed). It came out of nowhere and it's my favourite show of the year. Everyone needs to watch this! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shiiiiit I was scrolling thru your videos yesterday wondering why you hadn’t reacted to blue eye samurai yet, then I come home from work and I see this 👍👍
This show does NOT get enough love. It is beautifully animated, BRUTAL...absolutely NOT for kids, man you will see everything...just a heads up...bush...dong...they pull no punches but you cant look away...its that damn good. Enjoy it, cant wait to see more reactions!
The real black Samurai was Yasuke who served the Oda Clan. There aren't a lot of good primary sources about his early life but most scholars believe his birth name was Mozambique.
Season 2 announced! They can’t dodge his bullet now unless they delist/delete video. “Can’t they leave it here?” I mean yeah but reaction business wise it’s not a good image to leave a series and not finish it. Only exception is if they announced why they drop or copyright strikes happened that require delete/delist
It's unfortunate that some people don't think it's OK to be mixed race. I think some of the most attractive women are mixed and most a people are actually at least a small part mixed.
Ye, just a heads-up for this anime, it does not skimp out on the nudity, sex, and visceral death and injuries. So be careful for more upcoming episodes!!
