I thought you were supposed to point the tee at the midpoint between the target line (alignment stick) and your feet? Wouldnt the top of your backswing be too shallow if you had it pointing directly at the target line?
It's NOT simple! All this complicated "do this while you swing..." Check out Jim Venetos and get rid of all these crazy instructions/movements. Uncomplicated, crispy ball-striking!
That isnt the point of the drill at all. Scheffler uses a long pen or stick and designed to make sure he is square at the top & clears hips on the way down
I cringe at alignment sticks. It becomes a crutch that keeps people from mentally aiming. Your swing path can also change slightly if you do proper mental aiming. Sorry....but those sticks will not be there on the course....lol. I would never resort to a tactic that cannot be applied on the course. In the end, it's an instructor gimmick.
