The reason people still don't use trapper is because of how slow it is. Most people think of speed and efficiency. They won't wait around every single round for traps and would rather use other op dps to carry them such as accel, engi and other dps options. Still, I do think trapper has the potential of being a powerful dps tower in the hands of a patient and experienced guy.
i just bought trapper a couple weeks ago because i had heard it was bad and my view on the buffs it received were bad. oh how wrong i was for anyone who doesn't know, trapper's traps deal full damage to anything they hit, regardless of their remaining health. this means that if a mutated speedy for example (18 health) hits a level 1 trapper's spike (20 health) the trap will go down to 2 hp. then anything else that hits it will take the full 20 damage, and removes the damage dealt from the spike's health. this tower is genuinely insane, it is useful in essentially EVERY situation (yes, including speedruns). go give it a try this is my favorite tower for a reason
Ngl, he is insane yes. But sadly no place to use him thought. If you want early game, just put someone better like golden scout or something, and late game, no need to talk.

He is just 3k coin... Cheaper than 50% tower in the game and only around 7% cost of a golden skin (the only golden that is better than the trapper in terms of usefulness is cowboy) So nah you are just similar to the people who said trapper is trash
@@PhatTran-nw9rigolden scout sucks on early game fallen even with the buff he got lol, also trapper can deal with a lot of early-mid waves easily (w14,19 etc) for a relatively cheap cost
Trapper definitely seems to be pretty good, although one thing that isn’t quite mentioned is bosses and stuns, couldn’t being stun abused not allow for it to place more traps and then be useless?, while yes it do massive initial dmg, it might not be able to do much after
the actively throwing traps factor isn't as important as the already stacked up ones. it overall isn't the greatest main boss dps because of this but still can do great damage to it and is awesome against slightly less strong enemies he also MELTS DEFENSE for some reason; making him very useful against fallen king and things alike if you don't have alternatives
the reason no one uses trapper is because in waves where the enemy wave has a lot of hp and/or longer is because towers like engi and accel can continuously attack enemies as they come. However although the initial damage isn't bad; once the traps have been hit, trapper becomes useless and the rest of the wave will leak. Basically its only a one time use per wave which can maybe kill 2-3 enemies(30-40), but once that's over trapper becomes useless.
thats literally the main reason why you have to place him in the back so he gets to build up a huge pile again and besides, if you have some accels and engineers to take out 90% of the wave and only a few zombies leak, it is not that bad losing a few traps to a few leaking enemies
U also forgot to mention that trapper takes up a tower slot and since economy towers, dj and commander are pretty much required in a loadout you have to give up a dps tower to use it, not even mentioning that you also need a consistent flying detection tower
I have a very good idea. Instead of adding multi-path for pursuit, they should make it have an ability like jester but instead lets you choose a different helicopter to avoid tdx meatriders from saying "copy".
Tbh people think trapper is bad but just try it and you'll either prove your point, or change your mind. I always used trapper since it was released and I did use it for early, mid and late game and it OP. It should not be underrated
If u play tdx is same as mine layer is op but the reason why no people are using it is because it need to take a moment to get all its damage and some enemy can tank the damage and the stronger enemy will get through and once he dosent have traps it the damage will be low so its only good when u let him stack other wise it won’t be as useful

I just don't like the trapper because he's kind of boring to use and I don't always use him much. I only used him during hardcore and in some fallen matches. I think that for him to be better he should have a stun gun or a revolver and the traps could be an ability every 1 second.
Trapper good... When you use some neurons to use him, you can use him in so many ways and make so many strategies that with the hate he's getting I'd say he's the most underrated tower in the whole game And that PvZ music fits well the video and I'm getting nostalgic rn Revive PvZ🗣️📣🔥
I didn’t know you could hover over the things on trapper, if I knew this I would be using trapper over any tower. Trapper is also used in multiple strategies just to carry. I used trapper in the legion challenge (which is impossible) but it made us reach almost wave 30. And they weren’t even max, only level 2 and level 3. Thanks Wlite.(I accidentally did a typo but it’s a better name for you anyways)
trapper is a good early game option tbh, because it can detect anything but flying enemies only with its base level, and you can put 1 on wave 1. Its good early-mid and for late game there are the bear traps to deal with more tankier menances (aka stuns them if they are not stun immune) Also just because a tower is not advanced, does *NOT* mean it sucks. You can see that from ace pilot and rocketeer(rocketeer is kinda underrated tbh)
tip on EVERY game possible: use everything you have to fight or survive or whatever goal there is. And just because something is good, doesnt mean its good for anything.
quick small trap strat here:I normally go for 3 max trappers and set the one to "trap" then the other to "landmine" then the other to "BT" after that i just go like in a alternate patterns where its like trap,landmine,BT,trap,landmine , and so on.
Me in my friend duo dusty bridges fallen, and we won all because of trapper, it carried us to wave 14, and in the final waves we had all landmines maxed out trappers and it was so OP
imo the only thing trapper is lacking is an ability that allows him to destroy all his placed traps, so you can remove low lvl traps and replace them with other traps
Mostly i dont find it that appealing due to it not being able to do a whole lot if an enemy goes through the traps, like sure you get the 30k damage garunteed, but then you dont get basically any more damage for the most part
Necromancer is also slept on. Flying detection and hidden detection, skeletons can deal hundreds/THOUSANDS of damage from 1 of them. Not to mention it’s good range and you can get 3. I use it in all my fallen runs and it’s just a monster.
i dont know if you r aware but you can glitch trappe r out like this. you get it to lvl 2, change it to landmine, and if it drops a single spike trap you triggered it. no need to upgrade it or anything. you can also do the same thing at lvl 3 but then the question is why would you do that..? anyways at max the thing has 100 dps. with that you can even put them in the front on fallen and stil obliterate every single thing comming out of the base. trapper is one of the best towers with that bug. change my mind. hope this is a good way of explaining it bc it took me 10 minutes to figure out
I think the reason trapper is so powerful is because, unlike Spike factory in btd6. The Spikes disappear after the round ends. But if you use Perma-spikes it’s traps are almost permanent. But Trappers trap are permanent for the whole game. And considering the fact that the btd6 Community has figured out how powerful spike factory is. (Especially perma spikes.) it would seem like this is trappers time to shine!
The Only reasons i dont use trapper are A: It can Be Pretty Inconsistent if not place in the Back. B: I Like Playing Multilane Maps. Yes You Said the best tds player can use it on those maps, but the map you showed was one of the easiest dual lane maps because it doesnt have the all paths modifier. If im playing Infernal Abyss (Which i actually do ALOT) Those Spikes arnt tanking anything. Edit: Also Its Slow. The Common Consensus is that "The Best Way To Grind is To Win Fast" Which is True, Trapper Makes the Slowest part of the Game (The early game) even SLOWER. If Im Trying to do a challenge and not bothered about time? Yeah ill use it but if im just trying to grind its not exactly going to be the best option
Most of the time players want to speed up the gameplay by maximising dps and defense upfront, so I understand why rarely anyone use trapper because he's only op when there are too many leaks or even the highest dps towers cannot deal with bosses in time.
@@zAndr3xTakes the entire game for the spikes to charge time is crazy for the output it gives. The spikes are very hard grow and the boss damage is only good for mid game bosses. Even if, the dps of the spikes gets outmatched(by cost) from other towers. Yes, trapper is fun to use, but it lacks power for all of it’s disadvantages
The reason why i think pepole not use trapper outside of strategys is it's just a boring tower, you place a trapper bit back in the track and just wait
