I like building Maverick's Redoubt style bases because instead of a single large furnace I throw a nightclub in the middle, and my defenses are done. People hang out there so much that if someone tries to raid it people that don't even know me will die defending that base. I usually have 3 towers around it with vending machines and large batteries, I'm gonna turn those towers into these, but with a mailbox on each one to look like a flag :P
This was the first base I ever built in rust, and one of the funnest wipes I’ve had with my friends. Easy to follow and intuitive tutorial Reksmore! Thank you!
They blew through the double doors, went straight down through stone floor with 4 rockets to the core, over in 30 seconds less than 12 hours into wipe. Not defensible, just aesthetic. Really wouldn't recommend unless you full metal it before because you're an *immediate* target for clans due to the size. The funnel could work if the entire bottom is metal but in the stone phase you're basically just a target.
Bro just wanted to point out that the ramp lootroom once the ramp if upgraded to metal you can place the wall. and you can also fit 2 large box and 3 small box per ramp (it is just a pain in ass to do lol). Overall great and awesome build! - Just realized someone pointed out the metal part already :D (edit)
My last base wasn't built for this sort of play, but it was like a scaled down version of it. I even used the same trio of double doors trick to make sure I wasn't running out into a door camp or ambush.
This would be an even bigger monster to a zerg. Because with this design a big and active enough zerg could watch all angels at all times. And a solo or duo can only see about 90 degrees at a time. So having 8 or more allows all angels at all times. Also with night vision you don't need the campfires, and your position will be hidden unlike when campfires are lit and the enemy can see you too. And you could honeycomb with low walls on the third floor without it interfering with your peaks. But yeah this base would be a monster to deal with, and it would get worse for raiders for every player in your team. Just imagine a zerg or village of these, and with lockers that have silenced boltys and night vision. That's a scary thought.
Oh. I've always had issues replacing the outside wall of ramped loot rooms during raids. Specifically the back wall facing outside. If broken I can't replace it, but maybe it's something else causing it?
@@Reksmore ah ok. The likely hood it is the large boxes that are far back of the ramp. The causes a small block and stops raiders from sealing the base.
You can replace wall behind ramps if you just upgrade ramps into metal since stone builds has larger hitboxes than metal ones, you can also place walls behind hqm ramps.@@Reksmore
have anything with bunkers for loot? I absolutely love those designs and im only 300 hours in. Friends taught me electric and water. But they stopped playing and idk how they made this cool base that has bunker loot on storage floor, bedrooms, wide and skinny peaks.
I just built it on console and compound it in and it still works with high walls amazing build how many rockets you think it be to raid when all metal?
that triangle next to the roof square jump up isnt needed that middle layer doesnt protect you anymore its still 2 walls to TC at all squares. its also probably affected by the splash bug anyways i would just add the walls to the side of the roof jump up and if you want to place the triangles to the sides of it activate the adobe conditional (everyone should purchase adobe and shipping container skin they are seriously pay to win when talking of the roof pieces.
Good question! Honestly if you use doors for your shooting floor are I'd consider putting one up in one of those levels, which would put it fad away from raiders entry paths
What a horrible base. Awful starter, expensive to build and a cheap raid. If the raiders bring smoke grenades and incendiary rockets you wouldn't even get to defend.
