Hopefully Finn turns out to be better than Boykin - both as a player and as a person. Boykin got into trouble with law enforcement if I recall and punched a cop. Classy.
A qb like Boykin < a qb like Seth Russell. Russell's ceiling was more RG3esque and we would have seen than if ou didn't twist his leg off. Finn is looking at an injury the way he runs combined with a less than stellar O-line. Robertson needs to stay ready and this was a bad time to lose RJ Martinez. The qb attrition rate could be disheartening by mid-season. All IMHO of course.
About the potential split of the haves and have nots in college football. I'm not sure Baylor has recruiting glamour and the money to compete year in and year out in the upper tier. I would favor being in the 2nd tier and competing for that championship EVERY year! What do you think?
Why settle? If the "championship" has an asterisk next to it then it isn't really a championship. Just drop down to D2 and be done with it. If you're afraid of the big boys then run like the curs you are to D2 or D3. Down where championships aren't really championships. They're just competition trophies. If you legislate yourselves into lesser competition then you get lesser rewards. You won't be a national champion, you'll be the champion of the losers, so why bother? Esuxpn can buy whatever they want, more championships included. Especially if everyone else is intimidated like little biatches and runs away.
