I see what you did there. I imagine that’s some of your best work. Thanks for your insulting comment. It shines a light on the type of person you are. 😊

Your way of explaining beekeeping is very easy tooo follow, which is not an easy task, and your camera work is again very well done, with good close ups, well done.

Looks like they are bouncing back good, that early spring work and food you put in is paying off.

Greetings from North Texas USA. I have gone from langstroph 10 frame boxes to topbar hives. Love topbar hives. Great video from down under

Thanks mate. I’ve had a couple of top bar hives. Lost one to AFB a couple of years ago and lost the other a couple of months ago due to lack of food. Hoping to get another one up and running. The bees love them.

Hi. Re the 1st Hive in Video. I would say you have to much Space and not enough Bee Population to be using a x9 Frame + Feeder Frame Langstroth Box. I would get your best Comb Frames and the Queen and place them in a x5 Nuc Box, with x4 Frames and that Frame Feeder. And shake all those remaining Bees into that Nuc. Keep any Drawn Frames for other Colonies. Or Freeze them, thaw on need, to use when that Nuc needs a Second Box. Then those two Nucs become a Super Strong Brood x10 Frames. I would also think you have an under performing Queen. If you have Drones in the Area (know its early Spring in OZ.) I would see if you can source a nearly Capped Queen Cell, add it to the Colony, or put the Queen in a Dinky Hive (like a Mating Nuc, to Bank her.) And see if those Bees on the remaining x4 Frames: Decide to make some Supercedure or Swarm Cells for you. Still a new Subscriber "Viewer." Question : Did you have an awful Bee 'Winter' ? So far a couple of your Videos are showing poor Queen status ! Maybe Mating in last Bee Year (Season) wasn't that good. I would also suggest buying in some 'premade' Drone only Comb. . . Using this will mean Queen will lay a higher % of Drone Larva. You want your Apiary location flooded with good Drone Bees. The Colony hierarchy works on several levels. Strength, Productivity, Survivability and Genetics ! If any one of these, above are low or lacking despite : Feeding and Nuture from a Beek. That Colony is a no go long term. Do something ! Re Queen. Move Hive to another Apiary, or a Bee Pals place. Get a good DCA to up those Genetics, while the Worker Bees 'create' a better next Generation. Otherwise it will be strife and tears before bedtime. It's Quality over Quantity. Have say x3 awesome Hives, over a Dozen not great ones. You should always have a 1st Hive, a Back Up Hive, and a Spare. If any one of the three fail, you need more than only one Hive to get back on track. . . 😉 Two dud Hives won't make you a good Spare Queen. Duds can be due to poor Genetics. Badly mated Queen, poor Foraging. Disease. Bad Weather, you name it. . . 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Happy Beekeeping 2023 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
