@@markc266 My bad, I didn't see it - "I Won't Say I'm in Love" at #45 - but "Go the Distance" is even better and isn't on here, plus "Zero to Hero" and "A Star is Born"...so many tracks that are better than the ones billboard listed.

Out There has a beautiful sentiment and I think it's become adopted by the gay community as a kind of yearning ballad of a closeted gay man wanting to be free since the actor singing it was in that situation when Hunchback released. He plays the titular role in Amadeus btw, one of my favorite movies. But the uptempo songs are great too: Bells of Notre Dame, Topsy Turvy and of course the ultimate villain song and I even like the ballad "God Help the Outcasts" thought it's more formulaic it's still a nice sentiment for a commercial disney movie.

@@wesshiflet2214 yeah they really do place equal blame on the native americans and the colonizers don't they, especially with that song "savages". But it's always hindsight 20/20 in terms of political correctness even in the most vanilla type of movies that Disney is supposed to be. I just think you can't make a light hearted movie about the first colonizers, it's a blood-soaked part of history. But I'm glad the soundtrack exists.

I dunno if there was some kind of guidelines about what counts and what doesn't, so Daft Punk, and even stuff like "The Nightmare Before Christmas" not getting in at all... I mean, I could *kind of* understand if there was some arbitrary rules. There's a lot of glaring omissions even beyond those two examples. Which just makes me think whoever wrote this list was not very bright, didn't care so just threw whatever down, *OR* they got a corporate letter with the list they could write... I dunno...

Yeah, I didn't enjoy that movie even as a kid before I had any idea of it being, uh, a problematic way to depict the colonizer/indigenous American dynamic, but Just Around the Riverbend was always perfection, and easily one of the top Disney heroine "I want" songs ever.

And let's not forget the show was supposed to be from a 13 years old diary perspective and yeah that seemed quite accurate. I also love the fact that hilary duff is now in the how I met your father show and showing range as an actress
