Some Singaporeans can be incredibly ageist. Hawker stalls aren't just for old people to run. In fact, the younger generations ought to be encouraged to continue the culinary traditions of Singapore. As it stands, plenty of traditional dishes are already disappearing. All power to Charlene.

We should know what is the MOM rules for hiring service sector workers then you may have a better understanding why so many elderlies slog at hawker stalls

Life is a cycle. All the "old" aunties, uncles used to be young too right? Every generation should continue the heritage when the right age strikes

"Get a safe 8-5 job la youngster" and be a wage slave? Why, this girl has a great entrepreneurial drive. Being the head of a rooster is better being the tail of an ox. Drown out the noise and keep on keeping on
@ekichandra
@ekichandra 4 года назад
Cant agree more... Being a wage slave is a suicidal... I was entrepreneur until i seduced to take a job in a gov dept.. so depressing
@alicea5
@alicea5 4 года назад
ekichandra you can always save enough to quit and start your business or even start the side business on the side. Apparently, I’m going to the county in the employment and social service since my company is moving out of town. I will continue to run my side business and hopefully make if I just build up confident I can began to hire people to do the work for me. I would large a portion of my business profit to pay worker, but who knows. Trying is better than not
@alicea5
@alicea5 4 года назад
Being a slave wage depends on the person. Some people don’t have that business drive like I am, but I still end up starting a business under the persuasion of my parents. Now it became my business because they back off entirely and I keep at it because it help pays family bills and would help me save up for other things I wanna try.

You can see how well educated she is from the way she speak, she probably able to find work in corporate but choose to run the hawker instead. Thats show how pure her passion is, its brimming and infectous at least to me.

She had a great education, from her father, from her overseas exposure, and she is still learning from her neighbouring hawkers. She speaks well, has a good even temperament and rationalizes well and remains respectful to her customers and elders. Keep it up young lady, I am telling you, the 9-5 working world isn't the bed of roses people think it is. All the best!

Probably some can, but how many do? And what is the trade-off in hours spent working, benefits, vacation etc.? Genuinely curious to read up if you have any sources, because the video doesn't touch on the topic and all I've ever heard and read is the contrary.

Action > Reading I would not Sugar coat and say this lady is going to be successful... but she is going through a lot failures very quickly... through her dads recipe.. and there can only be so many failures.. before she would hit that nice sweet spot.. and find her niche in the market.... and the road to success begins from there. Never give up... and failures are finite... make as much mistakes as possible... and continue to take action... working 100-120 hour weeks And to the people looking at her like deers in the headlights... questioning and criticising... it’s going to be harder for you to succeed because she has already found her passion... and where’s yours? xD

FFBLAST GAME ENTHUSIAST Some people save their way to financial freedom While others Invest their way to financial freedom An entrepreneur takes risks... and the greatest of them take massive & dangerous risks like we see in tech companies today entrepreneurship is not for everyone... Just like the way many start ups fail... “Many are called, but only few are chosen”
