That's right! The falcon punch is a deadly technique used by peregrine falcons to knock their prey unconscious or even kill it instantly. It's truly incredible to see how these birds have evolved to be such efficient hunters.
Indeed, peregrine falcons are nature's aerial specialists. Their stealth and speed make them exceptional hunters, capable of surprising and successfully targeting larger birds like hawks and eagles.
In japanese its name is hayabusa. Thats why the suzuki motors named its fastest bike by the bird's name and ofc they are preying on blackbirds (honda cbr1100x)
Yeah because it deals massive damage from his every first attack.peregrine falcon targets for the prey's neck and it will cut to the bottom of the neck.
You're right! The B-2 stealth bomber and SR-71 Blackbird are both based on the peregrine falcon. I guess that makes the peregrine falcon the most bada*s bird in the world!
I was working on an AC unit on the roof of a mall near several high rise condo buildings near dusk and as I was packing my tools, heard a loud "thump" on the roof behind me. It turned out to be a large pigeon with its neck obviously broken. Looking up to find the cause, I saw one of the Peregrines known to nest in the building's ledges, slowly circling until it saw me move far enough away to come down and eat dinner.
That's crazy..They are indeed skilled hunters, and your experience highlights their ability to catch prey, even in urban environments. It must have been an impressive sight to witness.
My favourite animal, when i was child i used to watch documentaries and i used to draw them ... Before school... :) this badass bird was most impressive and cool "assault pigeon"(but with respect):D
Oh same here, we use to have donation for book selections growing up (Not well off, just a school program) and use to always choose peregrine fund. I remember the population being really bad when I was growing up, but its been a steady rise over the years in some areas.
We have them in Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪 Chicken farmers are so much aware of them. One minute you hear your chicken crying while running desperately looking for a place to hide, the next second you're seeing a falcon disappear into the distant. You will at first not know whether it managed to catch a chick or not. Count them later and one is missing 😅😅
I think that the peregrine falcon looks for large prey just to show that it can handle it, it is not a very large bird of prey (compared to an eagle or a kite) and it would not require a very large amount of food.
So deadly for such a rather small bird.😊 They are really not a very big bird at all. Smaller than most Crows we see in Colorado. But, Dang! Hits like lightning!😮
