This type of metal this is called ''Metalcore''. Metalcore is a newer type of metal began about 20 years ago in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Metalcore is generally defined as a mix of melodic singing, melodic guitars, guttural screams, brutal and technical guitar riffs, technical and fast drumming that are tied to the rhythm guitar riff. Other metalcore bands that you should check out are Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive, and Heaven Shall Burn, among other great bands. ***When you listen to Architects you should follow along with the lyrics. They have some of the best lyrics.

I think the song is about Tom's death and accepting it. Tom was the band's guitarist and the drummer's brother. Hence the melancholic tones in the song.
