There is a huge difference. Jailton is from the category below and he went up against the heavyweights. There is a disadvantage there Chimaev does the opposite, he's in the middleweight division but goes down to get the short guys. Chimaev 1.88cm he has size and wingspan closer to Adesanya than the category below (Usman, Burns, Colby etc) Burns 1.78cm and very short wingspan So there's this difference, Chimaev took advantage going down a division, Jailton against Jiri, Jamahall, Blachowics is his division, but he went up against the heavyweights

I remember I got into an argument with Russians years ago about the fact that Russians dominate wrestling only because certain black athletes don't participate in wrestling (basketball and American football players), and that superior athletes with wrestling training would be lethal to them. They didn't like that at all. Here's an example.

Dagestanians, their population 3 million, ethnic Russians also participate in wresling but not that much, they participate in many other sports: Athletics, Weightlifting, Armwresling, Boxing, Hockey, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis etc also different winter sports, in general they don't try to focus on one or two sports.

If we had a wrestling culture like Russia, etc... and low participation in other sports, then because of the superior black genetics, the US would dominate easily. In Brazil his nicknames are 1- Malhadinho (Malhado means jacked or shredded literally would be "worked out", and we put "inho" as a diminutive or affectionate suffix meaning little, so that comes together as Lil' Jacked) or 2- Malhadomedov (which is just the russian "medov" name suffix inserted making reference to great wrestling after Malhado, which again means jacked, so that could be translated as Shreddedov or something like that, lol Jackedov would not do I guess). I agree with what you are saying but they gave him the nickname as praise for his wreslting and physique, and he has accepted the nickname as the praise that it is. In english they weren't able to give those a proper translation, I guess, but the association with great wrestling and control was made by making that comparison more direct to Khabib.

Plus this guy has finished like 14 fights in a row, and fighting in 2 weight classes....Khabib came into UFC mostly winning by decisions/holding guys down , and was usually the bigger fighter.....Almeida is smashing heavyweights that are 35lbs heavier.....super exciting prospect !

HW has notoriously been one of the thinner divisions across MMA. When he gets to the top 3, and he's still cutting through guys like a hot knife through butter than I'll be a believer. Right now, he literally is freezing guys with the front kick that backs them up before he shoots the double leg. Each of his last few opponents backs straight up and get taken down off that set up. Heck even DC called it in his most recent fight. Yes, it's impressive but what will be more impressive is to see what he does with guys who can/know how to defend the TD. The grappling greats like DC, Jones, Khabib, and Islam all have answers to the answers that their opponents have to their TDs, which is what makes them great to watch.

He's not a wrestler, a BJJ guy! It's easier to find brazilian Judokas in MMA than brazilians wrestlers... Wrestling was never a big deal in Brazil and even though there's recent interest in the sport, most comes from BJJ and MMA guys who sees the benefit, but the majority of the country is not even aware of it's existence and others just think it's gay.
