See the thing about them going to church instead of skipping town is that our bodies are our temples so you know you can have your own personal relationship with God and you can pray and meditate and everything you don't have to be in a place where you need external validation from other humans about how you interact with God. They didn't need to go to church they needed to actively think and meditate about their knew life while fleeing and using their instincts

And I don't mean to come off as apathetic or offend anyone... I know it's just a movie but people's minds are so quick to go to being mad at God instead of seeing it as fault with people doing what's comfortable to them, or the fact fin couldn't start another life without following a pattern that backfired... it's like we need to control our minds like every thought isn't ours we can be influenced by demons and momentarily agree with a detrimental thought you know well accept it as our own thought we should not do that. Just because it makes us feel comforted in an ego driven way. You can believe what you want but the bottom line to every negative thing you see or go through shouldn't be "God's doing something mean to me " it's a bad place make your default

I'm going to get off it I promise I'm a stop but I just want to say like God seems fake because religion is fake most of the time like if somebody is conditioning you how you're supposed to perceive the world and they aren't really spiritual it means nothing. Someone shallowly telling you scripture or like using it against you or being selfish and not really helping you like of course you're going to think it's fake like they're fake😂😂😂😂😂😅 it's it's way better to just you know be open-minded like I mean it doesn't even have to be Christianity but it's good to read from different cultures and and different ideals because God the idea of God shouldn't be limited because people are limited
