Totally resonated with your comment about his music being free therapy. I had been listening to NF occasionally for a long time, but I really went down the rabbit hole after I ended an abusive marriage. I had just started therapy and was working a job as a yearbook photographer that had me on the road for days at a time, and it could be incredibly lonely. Whenever I needed to feel understood and wasn't close to a therapy session I'd just blast his music during the road trips for work. After hearing all of his older stuff in that context, HOPE as an album feels like an emotional liberation through music. Gone, Happy and Running in particular hit me hard on a core level. Cannot wait to see your journey through his music, and I sincerely hope that it helps you as much as it helped me.

NF absolutely made it clear to me that I needed help and finally after 28 years, I've finally felt freedom and heard because I seeked the help I needed.
Mine is for sure mama because my dad had died a little over a year ago under the same conditions almost he was a drug addict but he died in a fire in the cause of the fire was indeed cooking of drugs and I feel like that's the one that relate to the most the only difference is I lost my dad when he lost his mom

You have an entire NF community that feels just like you. I’m 36 and listening to this helps me not only understand my deep thoughts, but reminds me to keep what’s important in life as my main focus. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called a love one shortly after an NF jam session, and just being like, dad I love you man lol. Once you react to intro 3 and his very last song on hope “running” it’s amazing to see how he illustrates his transformation. Also have heard numerous accounts (online so who knows validity of stories) of people claiming NF is the reason they were able to fight through depression and even suicidal thoughts. My first ever song I heard from NF and I fell in love instantly. I knew right then and there he would be one of my favorite artists EVER in music. Absolutely incredible song and lyrics in every single song.
I played a handful of NF songs for my parents, 60-70 folks, who really do not like rap at all. And it took them both about 3 seconds to say it. That NF is REAL MUSIC
I personally think that when these seem too hard for you, it’s EXACTLY when you need them. At least, that’s how it was for me. People have said that you don’t find NF…NF finds you when you need his music the most. Best of luck to you as you go through the journey! It’ll be a roller coaster, but TOTALLY worth it!

Songs like Mansion (and some more you'll encounter on the journey) really did feel therapeutic - like you can take tangible life lessons from them, and reflect in upon yourself and notice things you hadn't before. It takes courage to share your emotions like you on your reactions and NF has done in his music. Its a strength not a weakness. REAL emotions come from REAL feelings. No one shakes emotions like NF. The good, the bad, the ugly but that's why he's REAL, that's REAL life.
I've only recently got into NF....as my main music is rock.but this guy is so talented I have to admit that I like him a lot. It's a strong song with brutal lyrics, your analysis and reaction is always wonderful. I write poetry and have for many years. Never felt confident enough to share it with the world. It's what's helped me get past the dark times I've faced. NF has been the one lyricist to open up so many wounds again that I didn't know I had or knew I had and couldn't yet face them or understand them. This words are so powerful and honestly I love deep conversations and would love a deep conversation with him and you. The pain you expressed was the same feelings I felt when I heard this song for the first time and even that last time seeing this song on your channel. It's powerful how it can open our mind and your heart and inspire feelings of the past that you thought were gone to only show that you weren't fully through it. Which isn't a bad thing. It just means than we can and will become stronger. Through ourselves but also paying attention to others and what they have gone through. I've always believed that the real growth in us is what we choose to see and take away from what surrounds us. Thank you for being open with your emotions and feelings. I've always been drawn to metal most of my life but there are artists that made me think twice again about genres that seemed to be fading in such authenticity.

I feel like NF's career is coming to fruition. He's been underground for a long time. I was blessed to be introduced to his music in his Therapy album. This journey isn't for the faint of heart or for those who don't want to feel. His music just bursts with emotions in all of their glorious complexity. Go through his therapy and become a better person for it. Sometimes healing and progression hurts.
The raw and unfiltered emotions are what I look for in any reactor. There are things that your eyes do, subtle twitches that you can physically see connect to your own memories. It's a amazing thing to witness happen, Therapy can be terrifying but I wish you the best in facing your inner demons and issues.

Therapy was definitely worth it for me. My problem is, I was always impatient and wanting to find "the fix" to everything, YESTERDAY. That's not how it works, though. But as I grew older and had time to process and actually FEEL the emotions (instead of trying to suppress them), having the safety of doing it without worrying if *I* was going to mock myself for it, I finally found what I needed. Eventually my mind started to figure out how to handle my traumas. Brains need time and space to breathe, the freedom (and your acceptance of its need) to feel what it needs to feel. It may not be what you need on your end--we are all different--but maybe it will give you hope too, because we are also all very similar.
NF's music is therapy. There isn't one song I can't relate to. His music has changed me as a person . I hope it does the same for you. Don't be sorry for being vulnerable. You are courageous for that. I couldn't count the times I have cried listening to NF's music. It is my therapy. 🙏 💯 💪

I was new to NF at the start of the Covid-19 national shutdown, actually heard him when people in my city were starting to disappear in the street, because they were staying home while I was still delivering food. I’m a Jungian therapist and I use NF’s songs frequently with my clients. “Mansion” is my go-to when the client’s ready for serious ‘shadow work’, especially for those who’ve experienced abuse in their childhood. It’s painful to confront, but necessary to move past the trauma.
I predict that one day a College Professor will add NF to their curriculum, or do a whole class on NF Music. It could be the Arts, English, or even Psychology disciplines and they would have amazing content to cover.
Don't apologise for your emotions. NF makes us feel those feelings and talks about the tough stuff but thats also why we love him because so many of us can relate. Crying isn't a bad thing imo, it releases chemicals to help ease our emotional and physical pain

11:35 As a newbie NF-Fan. Yes, i connected to him deep level too bcs I can simply say that he changed my whole life. It's all clicked and settle down in my mind when i listened Hope. Last month, I found NF-hope at random instagram post. I'm 27 and i was in the state that nothing was important, everything was meaningless to me. I was so pessimist person that walking around the edge everytime. When i watch "hope" and seeing him that he was fighting himself for found hope. Something snapped inside my mind. (It was like, i guess i should just f*ck myself and my negative thoughts that holding me back.) Than i started to writing novel and it's really helps me out, i just spitting my thoughts on it and i loving it. More i write and listen his songs, more i found my true myself. Like Nate said: "writing songs is my therapy". Right now writing is doing same thing for me too. Now i can see light about future. Now, i feel like nothing can break or stop me. Just belive in yourself guys, don't stuck your shitty thoughts or others. It's time to take your reigns. And i just want to clarify that most of likes coming from people like me. We all went through some stuff, and i know some of you was so close to end it at past. Bcs I was wanted to end too. BUT we found HOPE with Nf. And now, nothing can stop me, or you. This song resonates with me on a deeper level. To be honest my mind doesn't have a room that "I want to burn to the ground", but there I can find a "room full of regrets" and "a safe room". Still those regrets that I have aren't as serious as "loosing my mom". Great reaction! 😃

Mansion is such a good song. In this song NF mentioned his mom and he stops himself because there’s not enough room in the song. I think your next NF song to react to should be “how could you leave us”

I have been playing his mansions album since the day it came out. When ever I hit a hard place or need to redirect some internal compass I listen this this album!
Nathan's music is my therapy session, after 5 years of mental and physical abuse, all the lies I was told, made me mad to the point to where a gun was involved, tried a few times to commit suicide, never could bring myself to do it, I always have flashbacks to that but, all of his songs helps take my mind off of it all and calms me down

This was the song that saved our life. We are a DID system and we used this song to to explain to our psychiatrist and trauma specialist therapist what our mind was like with rooms for each of our alters. It was this song that helped us understand our condition better and led to us having major breakthroughs and recoverig the traumatic memories that caused our DID in the first place. We cannot understate the value of this song to our survival.
MISTAKE on his new album hits really hard… Everybody feels like they are never enough, but nobody event wants to hear someone tell them that. Mistake is such a sad and amazing song.
