25:20 most beginner tanks don't realize that charging through shields is good for offense but it also means that the supports can't shoot through the same shield to heal you.

Hes also gotta learn timing of orisa cooldowns, lot of times hes combining fortify and block or using block at the end of fortify and using both of his defensive cds. Its okay sometimes if its absolutely necessary, but you forcibly overextend regardless of how much if you walk forward with her abilities on cd. Especially if playing against ana or zen

I feel like this dude has really good potential to climb. There's a lot he's lacking but you can just tell he has that sense and potential in him to improve compared to a lot of others you see who are just lost causes. He has good cover awareness (He may not use it well but he's aware of it) and good predictions on when an enemy is going to ult etc. I think if he was put in silver lobbies and was aware of LOS to his supports, he'd do well. Aim comes over time, it's not something you really need to hard focus on in low elo as a tank main

As a plat tank player, I generally thinks he need better game sense e.g engaging/ disengaging, resource management, and target priority. I wouldn't be too concerned with the aim as good game sense can carry a player normally.Overall it's way better than an average bronze and he should be a high sliver or mid gold player.

You have to look up while blocking to take less damage

Video idea: take a plat player and drop them in a lobby of bronzes but don’t tell them. See how long it takes them to figure it out or if they never do. You could try this with a dps, a tank, and a support and see how much of a difference having one good player on a team full of bronze in each category makes.

Something i noticed a few time when he was low health; he would go back and use the cart for cover for example but he would regain LOS with the enemy immediately instead of waiting to recover HP/CDS for the time possible to do that behind cover.

I’m not a tank player at all but as a Diamond support I’d say the biggest part of what I see he can fix is his positions and engagement. To be able to get heals but have map control and when to engage he can work on a little. 👍

I think he was pretty good. He has those key elements needed to climb and improve at the game, so with a bit of effort I think he could reach Plat for sure.

For the ult damage at 3:25 you can take less damage if you're in nemesis form and you guard while looking up. Works on Doomfist too.

when you are in nemesis form you look up and hold your right click down to take less damage from gravity flux

I never played OW1, been grinding OW2 and just got plat on all roles. Especially for tank I think the biggest change is how much faster the game plays. You could see on defence that he was just getting overwhelmed because he wasn't used to the process of fight -> reposition -> fight -> reposition, and could instead (in his rank) take his time after each fight to chase for extra elims or just stand around. He had the time to reposition to high ground but it only clicked that he needed to do it after the monkey had dove in.

Top 500 player here, all in all I think they all did good and I believe with a little practice he can most definitely improve his rank, either A by improving his sense, or B working in his game sense. Personally if I were him I’d switch to a new/different account, that way he’ll be able to throw his old MMR behind and he can start fresh from high silver to goal. With all considered not bad, and nice video 😁

This issue with his aim is debatable. Rammatra's primary forces you to shoot where they are going rather than where they are due to how slowly it travels. It was a bit wonky but understandable.

You should put an entire team of bronze players who think they deserve higher against an entire team of that rank so that they arent just carried.

The thing about sigma ult and taking less damage is true. You need to look directly up when blocking to apply the damage reduction because the actual 50% dmg of your total health comes from above when you get pushed back down. It's been a thing since Sigma was first released but it hasn't been useful tech since no hero had a block ability until doom got reworked.

I think with him being nervous it affected a lot of his gameplay If he was more comfortable he would play a lot better, I honestly don't think we should say we would "dominate him" He is very much still a newish player and he has a lot to work on. some of these comments need to get a grip why don't you do what he is doing instead? 🤣😂

1:00 immediately the first mistake shows, before even leaving the spawn room. What a Tank who understands playmaking at plat+ level would ideally do: "Guys we push straight right to stairs and fight them on the high ground before we worry too much about payload" What an avg Tank player does: Exits spawn room, defaults to payload, grasp towards whatever value they may find through merely existing on the objective. This is not a roast, it's just critical observation that shows the main difference already just lies in mindset. This player is not acting like the playmaker a Tank is supposed to be at higher levels. They're not displaying a sense of understanding the map and the hurdles they are likely to face, nor show a proactive approach to how they want to take fights. If the tank doesn't know how they want to take fights, usually their team crumbles from the lack of direction and it just evolves into separate duels and small skirmishes that rely on individual carry potential, rather than cohesive teamwork. And this is the most basic level of playmaking I'm talking about. Knowing what trouble they may face ahead of fight, communicating a basic plan for how to deal with that, and then executing to the best of their ability on said plan. This is what lower level tank players must learn in order to prove themselves worthy of higher rank play. And all this said, he definitely didn't play like a Bronze tank, I'd say his aggression and good (for bronze) mechanics help a lot here. It's mostly the game sense, and understanding the flow of fights a bit better, also being perhaps a bit better at filtering out noise in all the information that is being dumped every second, but that'll come with experience. Bronze is tough to get out of, but his gameplay is silver/gold worthy at least, if he just keeps at it then the grind will get him there in time.

The fact that he do play around corner and does not overextended while enemies are trying to bait him in, he's definitely beyond bronze.

He's good to rank up to about a Gold 2 to Plat 5, there's no shot he did that well with plat teams, if he wasn't at least Bottom Gold.

There are tons of players stuck in bronze-gold that don't belong there. It's a team game and there are so many terrible players in that rank that you just get teams you can't carry half the time. Your teammates either feel goated or like they're someone's little brother that they gave the controller to

6:24 I'm high gold tank, on an easy streak to platinum with 10 wins in a row, and I loved the Orisa swap on the hog, but wasn't the proudest of how he handled his abilities and all those wasted spears.

I know, Bronze, Silver, Gold. 99.9% of the time the opposing tank will switch to Orisa when they can't get the upper hand, I try to always just be prepared for the Orisa/Pharah swap outs.

I think a lot of Bronzes are way, way better than most of them and most outsiders think, because Bronze is literally hell and the biggest thing to overcome is the absolute chaos. In a team game, having four capable teammates is such a massive change for a Bronze player, then they're the only weak link. Lets them focus on improving their own mistakes.

I'm in sort of elo hell. Its just the matchmaking system thats dumb. I get matched and fight with gold players, (and even plat sometimes) but i'm in silver

Things that made him look like a gold: Awareness at the beginning of fights and overall positioning Things that make me think he's a high-bronze to silver: His awareness/decision-making mid fight (his rapid mouse movements looked sporadic and lost), aim, timing of ults

the only thing i'd recommened (I'm plat so not huge advice) his aim looked a bit shaky, thats how mine was, i turned my sens down and DPI up and it really helped out my gameplay

To be honest I think this dude could make it into plat if he trained up his aim, also he looked kinda flustered when going in with nemesis form.

I mean im in plat/diamond and our lobbies are never full of all plat or diamond… it’s constantly silver gold at best… stepping into all same rank game is a different kettle fish for any person to play at lower ELO.. the 2 up/down matchmaking makes for a mad variety of ELO in every game.

the primary reason why you see vids like these with the bronze tank/dps doing fairly good despite their low rank, is because of the fact that in bronze and silver NOBODY FUCKING HEALS (with some exceptions of course) . also you will always have a moira in every single one of your games.

I would honestly say his aim would improve just lowering his sensitivity. Should probably shoot for a mouse sensitivity * dpi of 3000 to 4000? High sens makes those jitters way worse.

Facts are facts. ELO hell is real for tanks in Bronze and this proves it. Playing with higher level players shows the flaws and gaps and staying in Bronze will not improve his gameplay. Additionally, as he is in Bronze, his team will not play well enough for him to utilize better positioning, resource mgt, and target priority. He will have to outplay the entire other team to advance. The chance of ALSO getting someone that is better than Bronze, yet in bronze, on the same team is not likely to happen often. I keep saying it. Tank is the hardest role in the game and the hardest to advance because it requires team play. In OW1, I was stuck in bronze for 2 years as a tank. For sure some of that was me just being terrible lol however, I got a new account and went straight to gold. Stayed in gold for three months and moved to plat, then diamond, then ending in mid masters. In OW2 I am now again masters 4. Bronze is a joke to get out of because both terrible play and people that get in game and say "they don't care because it's bronze". Good luck man!

Plat is a little enthousiastic, but i think he can probably hit and stay in Silver

His resource management, target priority and use of cooldowns are all fine. I'd say arguably plat. His comms or good, he doesn't do the bronze headless chicken act that is so common. He clearly lacks a bit of awareness. Probably not tracking ultimates or important cooldowns. But another issue, that is most speculation: We only saw him play Ram and Orisa. I fear that these are the only 2 he can play and if he swapped onto Rein or Winston, we'd see play much more typical of a Bronze player and not every situation is going to call for Ram or Orisa. He's probably losing matches due to the comps because of his inability to switch.

I think he did very well for a bronze, quite insecure about positioning, I think he needs to work on being proactive more and the positioning will come as he gets more confident, but too aggressive without keeping an eye on his health and enemy shields Got to say, very few bronze players sees the junkrat traps, for some reason that was the only thing I had a problem noticing while I learned very quickly to keep eyes on everything else, and I've seen a lot of people even up to gold rank having trouble with the traps

Sometimes players can struggle with "playing down to your opponent's level" - where someone who's this skilled and could easily fit into a gold lobby is having a hard time climbing in bronze because they make more mistakes and play less skillfully when they're matched against worse opponents. That and positioning when your healers may be less reliable is a separate skill which tanks need to learn to climb out of lower ranks too. I'd think it's either thaaat, or this guy just hasn't played enough ranked games for his rank to naturally climb out of where he got placed.

The first thing I notice is his aim isn't very good and is not focused, maybe that is the nerves but he missing alot of shots with his primary fire that he could be getting alot more value. Overall awareness seems to be pretty good, but a little late on some ability uses like using javelin spin to contest payload, or using fortify to not be knocked off the payload by hog. The orisa swap was a good choice against hog but missed alot of spears. Reminds me of when I switched from console to PC, I had the knowledge but not the aim and its frustrating because you know you are better but are learning new controls at the same time.

Honestly played a bit made silver 4 on both dps and tank… few “cards” later and I’m gold 5 and plat 4 after almost never having played overwatch before.. anyone who can’t make it out of gold and below doesn’t have general mechanical skill imo

Honestly, i always been into plat/diamond elo depending of the amount of time I put / the meta i play on and I think between bronze and plat there is not much of a difference in term of talent. To me bronze is made of new players or people who doesnt care ( or doesnt focus on their mistake) and plat is just some casual player with a bit more of play time and who actually try to improve ( a little bit ). Once you reach diamond, you can start talking about talent but nobody is playing everything correctly. ( So they still do a few errors). I cant talk for master gm and top 500 but i assume they just do less and less mistakes while playing until they get good enough to reach top 500.

Plant tank currently, definitely think he could be in anywhere from high silver to high gold MAYBE low plat with a good team
