I watched Aliensrock video, he didn't have the wrong idea about the game's difficulty It's just he's just played the veggie tales game and it's on the same territory and fatigue has set in, he recommended the game after playing about 45 minutes on stream and a bit more offline, he liked the art style and the music, and he recommended it to people looking to just chillax with an casual puzzle game
I don't comment often, but two things on Sweet Dreams Alex. First; My girlfriend and I have been steadily playing the game and it has been wonderful. The cozy atmosphere is great for a game we can play together. Second; As a game designer I feel you when you were talking about intention and how players can come to a game with preconceived ideas. The idea of a forward is something that I hope can catch on at least in indie games, but hopefully overall, since I think it can only help the play experience.
Baumi is being super disingenuous here. I watched the video he's talking about; it's on RU-vid.. Aliensrock didn't have preconceived notions at all. He did admit at the end that he thinks Veggie Quest is a better game for him, but the actual reason he stopped playing Sweet Dreams Alex was that he used the same strategy to solve like four of the levels in a row, including a level with two nightmares. He literally gave feedback that Baumi chose to ignore: there's no point in having two nightmares if it's trivial to corral them into following the exact same path. (and to extrapolate, he'd probably also say that there's no point in having two if it's just a mirrored map and you build the same thing twice, but mirrored). And I think he's right that the tutorials long winded, which is the feedback that Baumi chose to respond to by going "nuh uh". Seriously, go watch the actual video and then how Baumi responds to it here. It's a little bizarre, if I'm being honest.
@@FarFromtheSuns No one here is in the wrong or in the right. Anyone can have his or her own opinion on things. Devs have their own vision for their own games, same with the individual players that would play it. Some liked it, some dont and if youre on the side of people that didnt like the game then its not for you. Let the devs do the thing they want to do and not dictate what they should do. If youre dissatisfied, make your own with the idea of your own. This is also just my opinion.
Aliensrock is my favorite youtuber and was really excited that he uploads a video playing your game. Too bad he doesn't really like it, but he explained it in the end though that the game is supposed to be for chilling and not for hardcore puzzle game player but hey, free publicity amirite...?
You don't usually want to do statements of intent, since the enjoyment people get from games can be vastly different. Don't try to shoehorn them into things, might reduce their enjoyment
Baumi, honestly i like new concept even more than the previous, i watched your videos to give support for years, and it feels kinda nice that after long period of time, i dont need to watch everyday and got time for other stuff nearing also to almost 30 we both know how it feels to suddenly have to focus also for other stuff. I like also the fact, that you come for quality videos instead of quantity, please keep up with your good work as you did so far.
For those "early game" upgrades, is it worth getting the wave 18 2nd legendary and focusing on bullying your opponents to aim for an end timing at wave 18?
I stopped reading steam descriptions because a bunch of them at the time were filled with too much marketing fluff or just a copious amount of pretty words that don't really give me a clear idea of what your game is. So nowadays I just read the tags, check the screenshots and then maybe I'll check out the description
I've been looking for the kinda chill videos where baumi used to play CHC and had lo-fi beats in the background but haven't been able to find them. Could someone share the title / links?
putting in a forward on how a game is intended to be played feels a bit too heavy handed imo. ive had a couple games do that and it gave me anxiety from the get go. idk
I wanted to buy sweet dreams alex this weekend and saw the its made for kids comment and decided against it. I even joined the discord out of excitement and was sooo disappointed after I saw the comment so I left😂... Next month then 😅👍
@@jakieeemeow6803 New char is Imba. And it wont be by fault. Its insane OP. You can play new char when you "donate, subscribe or give Cash in any kind of" to xeno. Normal user can play new char weeks later after x nerfs when new hero is online. Thats p2w for me.
