Also started ladder with a fire druid and was really lucky getting a fire charm the first hour after unlocking terror zones. Really like it so far but i'm still lacking gear and don't have something to lower enemy res so far
Playing as a fire druid this season, don't have enigma or more than half of your gear, but I still manage to farm pretty well with it. Even solo killed Dclone having merely half your damage numbers and no lower res or even CTA, Just running dual spirits + ravenlore for now with magefists and the rising sun.
I started as a fire druid also. Still looking for runes to make flickering flame or a ravenlore, enigma, and phoenix. So, my rotation maximizes damage with cool downs in play. Start with Volcano, then fissure, cast either MB or firestorm while on cool down, an immediate second fissure, then restart combo as volcano will be ready. It's really powerful
I have just finished the Grind to 99 on my Fire Druid, I think one of the main misses for why you would use a Hoto over a Crystal sword is that in P8 pub games you will not keep up with the group games go fast when you are just tele stomping from one pack to another with getting as many games as fast as possible most the time not really even looting just getting xp after a certain point you need to be able to keep up, I hosted many many many pub games and would lead the group something I never would of been able to do with the 6 sock sword, I do concede the damage output of the sword is better, and if you were split farming P8 it would be better where it is just your personal speed, but I play much in the style you do fissure tele stomp volcano than firestorm if still up, never really use molten boulder.
ive built a firesorc and having a blast atm. Still need a phenix monarch and 2 sojs but i already have max resists and 105 fcr for that setup. Finally firecharacters are worth playing!
Fire druid no but I was thinking about making a fire sorc. I figure if I respec now (96 + 2 bar) from blizzard I'll have just enough time to get tired of playing the new build. On the other hand, I still have to try self wield infinity and I found -20/14 griffon the other day. The game has been a lot more fun with terror zones. People seem to enjoy running the long forgotten areas together.
I recently made my first Fire Druid. He's only in Act III Normal, but I'm really bad at it. I always seem to aim my spells the wrong way. Good thing my Rogue kills everything.
I do seem to always aim my Molten Boulder the wrong way. With Fissure it seems the mobs always step just out of its range. I just need to practice more, I guess.
@@jilldaviau use firestorm over molten boulder. Molten boulder has little uses over fissure (only works in narrow corridors like maggot lair) When casting fissure you just wanna run around/in the fissure area.
My fire druid is non ladder now but gear wise it's very close to yours. I don't have a sunder charm and it's literally tearing through the game. Great all around changes to make the fire druid viable and I'm even having fun with it in public duels.
I've been incredibly impressed with how much improvement the Fire druid has gotten. I play on ladder, nearly exclusively solo (hooray ps4 internet), but with the Sunder and Flickering Flame in even a half decent pelt is quite satisfying and fun to play. Shoot, the builds simplicity and effectiveness is so good that it alone can carry you through the game (thanks to the phys. dmg aspects in Boulder, Volcano, and Armegeddon). Respecs from Akara are almost exclusively to adjust stats as gear is acquired, which is great quality of life for casual playing!
I know this is an old post but I play on PS4 and i moved D2 to an external SSD and it's way way better. Idk if maybe there was a problem with my hard drive but it's suuuper noticeable
Fire druids are smashing! My Fire druid is on non ladder so no sunder charm yet, but has all the other gear (Ravenlore, facet CS, Phoenix etc etc) and really stomps p8 non fire immune terrorzones. Can't wait for ladder reset to get a sunder on him :D
Yeah I’m in the same boat I really don’t feel like grinding hard enough this ladder to make another Phoenix lol. Just trying to make things I don’t have in NL so that I can make pretty much any build when everything consolidates
So i've had thoughts lately about how Sunders will change the, 'meta' in terms of specific classes. Are Psn Java/Phys Bowazon going to become mainstream? Are we going to see a resurgence in the avenger or budget Tesladins now? Are they viable? I think it's an exciting time for the game. But my vote, is sunder Avenger.
He is CLEARLY too homosexual for striking. He is a pure bjj grappler for sure. Always training having a sweaty man laying on him in between his legs. It has good carry over to his nightlife
Cool video and build, but 95% of the player base will never attain half of this gear. The rune cost alone is just ridiculous. This might something to try in single player with a character builder, but completely unrealistic for the average player.
If you play multiplayer that isn‘t too hard to get. Perhaps not exactly that setup, but take shako+Enigma+spirit+Hoto and clean skillers + Torch and Anni (so no BK/ Sojs/ + life skillers and no Infinity/Plague/ CoH Merc) and you already have a very good char. I normally play warzone/ COD and only from time to time D2. Still I founnd and traded enough that I could afford that build perhaps 3 times. I actually have a fire druid non ladder with infinity and the above mentioned gear. Already wrecks, even in CS with no sunder charm. I only have one eni and one infinity, but I just switch it to the chars I am playing.
Fireclaw druid! Last season I had a werewolf fireclaw build using obedience and it tore everything up that wasn't fire immune in 1 hit. I would like to see a similar build for this season.
I am currently using a fire sorc with 4 piece tals with flickering flame as helm and spirit as shield. I reach 105 fcr breakpoints and I have alot of -enemy fire res. Tals weapon gives 15 naturally from set bonus. I also have fire facets in both the weapon and the armor. And in addition to that flickering flame has 11% in my case (i rolled badly). Apart from chaos sanc. I clear stuff much faster than what I did when I was running blizzard. What I love most about being a fire sorc is how quick you can stop, kill a champion, move on. Blizzard always seemed so slow and clunky to me. Not a fan. Anyway, I am having a blast. Cant wait to get infinity down the line. Another alternative is going full tals + phoenix shield. The only downside is that you miss the 105 fcr breakpoint (I know you made a video about this build a while back. but it is much much better now with sunder charms). Dont sleep on the fire sorc ya'll.
If you keep an fcr ring on and upgrade to an 18 fcr ammy, then you can have 99 fcr bp on swap with spirit without need to swap suicide branch. Also get 68 fcr bp on main. What do you think?
It took me, like, 15 minutes to go through Chaos Sanctuary with my fire druid in Hell, but I don't have facets or Ravenlore. Before this patch, I'd never be able to do that alone.
It's a bit clunky and a lot slower then a lot of cheaper builds. The fire animations are pretty annoying tbh. Too much going on the screen dilutes the gameplay.
Idk. My poison necro with dweb and bramble is crushing maps with 10k damage and sunder. He's just not a boss killer, but terror map loot makes up for that.

How is this not just as OP or even way more OP than a blizz sorc now? My blizz sorc is doing 11k blizz with almost maxed cold mastery. I can tell you right now your clear speed on that fire druid is WAY faster than mine. Watching you go through these areas. You're not even a little worried about dying. If I come across any ranged like archers, or javacats, or witches. I have to play SUPER carefully or just not farm it even on p1. Now on p8 no way I can move as fast as you are and not die.
I've been working one a fire druid the past few days and so far I like it. Once I get enigma the tele stomp seems like the way to go. Playing on xbox means I only have so much accuracy with tele but I can make it work. It will be nice needing to use less skills that way too. I'm likely going to use HOTO due to the cost of a 30/30 sword. Maybe I'll get some -4/X's and make a cheaper one that way.

I'm currently running a windy druid with 1 skill into summons, max wind remaining into oak. Cold sunder, physical sunder. Enig, hoto, spirit, etc end game. Tele stomp dominates. Took down dclone yesterday for a 10/20 in buddy's game.
I'm going to try a cheap version of this build with najs set and items with mf/goldfind (chancies, goldwrap, rare boots, rare ammy) to pay the tele charges... it will probably cost me less than 1 ist I already have a summon necro with similar equipment and it works sooo nice
Im really liking Act2 merc. Ive read somewhere that holy freeze aura is bad for fissure damage some say it isnt. For my understanding there is kind of a sweet spot for too slow or too fast monster types. Do you have any info on that case? Btw i really dont need might aura.
looking at the facet sword...what is the socket sequence of dropping jewels in to get that configuration of 2 green top row, 2 white in middle row, and 2 green at the bottom row?

What would you suggest prior to getting the fire sunder charm? Is this build viable in Hell and terror zones, or should you run wind and then respec? I know their is phys dmg but not sure its enough. cheers.
Hey Dbrunski, what a great breakdown. I am excited to give this a try to see what I land on regarding skill cycle. I think your gear choices are really creative as well as powerful. So glad to see something other than a sorceress. 100% agree with you on the cold sorc being out of balance, anyone who cannot see that is a scrub.
THANK YOU for saying exactly what I've been saying about Ravenlore vs. Flickering Flame! I've gotten into so many arguments on reddit about it because people don't seem to realize just how valuable that extra -10% Enemy Fire Resistance is. I've layed out the math several times showing that Ravenlore is superior to FF in almost every case with the exception of having a perfect FF base, but people don't seem to get it.
Request for Cold Sunder Frost Paladin. Saw a video with a hero edited one decked out with perfect gear. Would like to see how the build works ground up.
Just guessing but doom for runeword because of the -cold, nightwing for the hat, and then you've got options for armor, fort or enigma obv, but don't rule out principle for the 100% cast holy bolt on strike. It synergies with fist of heavans. So for skills, holy freeze +synergies max. Zeal and sacrifice? Or I would do zeal and fist of heavans max if using principle and laying of hands.
@@zeroenth7743 Youre on the right track. Type in Frostadin and watch the video. It's pretty cool. His gear is gettable EXCEPT the 7 or 8 perfect cold facets he has in the sockets.
@@scottlucidi6476 that's why I don't like those hero editor vids. Yeah, it shows off build potential, but how obtainable is that? It dawned on me later since you're using doom, you'd wanna use fanat or convic as your main aura. I would personally run cats eye or highlands as the ammy on try it with conviction and ias gear before trying fanat
The problem with those builds is that it's so expensive that at this point, the game is over. There is not nothing really to farm for. While I like that Druid and fire characters are doing better, the amount of gear that it requires is insane compared to any budget S tier character. I wish that they will even the playing field for each character so that we don't see 80% sorc and 20% pals at the beginning of EACH seasons. Please make a cheap enigma rune word alternative, please balance the skills so that damage output/tankiness are actually balanced properly between characters. Please make a rune word that actually gives a meaning to play a melee build.
For the gear investment this requires, I still see it being a little slow on Players 8 when it comes to Terror Zones. If I spend this much time and currency, I may as well build a Poison Nova Necromancer.
@@zeroenth7743 I'm not asking for a new game even though I'm happy that D4 is coming. But D2 is sooo good that a few balances and addition will simply do wonders. And what they've done so far is great. I love terror zones, sunder charms, some already existing balance changes. But as Debrunsky said, they should go a bit "crazier" on those changes while keeping the same core gameplay. Basically they should stop fearing old school snobs that can't stand a slight change.
Terror zones are great. Sunder charms are a neat concept but they should be exceedingly rare for the benefit they provide imo. I'd like to see, idk, new enemy types, new maps, more post game content. The classes and item progression doesn't need to change. We just need more to do.
@@TheWorldTurntle lol yeah. Already put over 1000 hours into d2r. They make sequels for a reason. I'm retiring. I'm not going to spend another 100 hours trying to get cold sorc grand charms. Then for what?
They still need to remove the casting delays. And possibly speed up molten boulder even more.(each level speeds it up) to make the gameplay “fun” and not so clunky. Its not fun to constantly have to swap volcano, fissure, boulder.
Hate these absurdly elitist builds that 99.9% of players won't ever be able to make. I've played D2 since it came out, hundreds (prob thousands) of hours, and never had any high runes. Neither have any of my friends who played or still play. That's the reality check.
I’ve found 2 vex, lo, sur, ber, Cham, and Zod since d2r came out on offline Nintendo switch playing fairly casually but a little bit most days. It takes a while but they do drop lol
Disagree on the oak age. The thing is useless in hell and dies in one hit in 9 of 10 cases and often lasts a few seconds. Irconically the healthwormthing is giving you more health overall. Especially if there are other pets to block damage. Oak age is only good if you need to block high damage on impact for one time.
@@matornot It is not actually. The oak has less hp than the vine. Also the vine doesnt facecheck enemies into the face. Neither the game or any wiki specifically states that the ages buffs himself and it has no area around itself, like other buffs/spells have. Purely in matters of numbers, the vine will always outpace the sage if time is taken in the calculation. A static HP buff, will always lose against reg.
You can run Carrion Vine in addition to Oak Sage if you want, but Oak Sage is one of the best 1 point wonders that the druid has access to. Notice that Dbrunski's Oak Sage doesn't die once in this video. P.S. Lvl 20 Vine has 546 HP and does not benefit from any buffs. Lvl 20 Oak Sage has 904 HP, or 1057 HP with low-roll Battle Orders. Also, if you've ever used Carrion Vine, you know that it dies all the time. It is also more beneficial to have a larger HP pool than to have HP regen. But ultimately I don't know why you would good Vine INSTEAD of Sage. Sage is bare minimum requirement, but feel free to add Vine if you really want to waste 2 skill points on a benefit that health pots already give you.
While it's complete dogshit compared to the big boys and girls, i.e. hammerdins and furyzons, the fire druid is definitely in a much better place now and arguably has a slightly higher ceiling than the blizz sorc. The madmen did it again.
Self wielding infinity nova sorc clears faster than a Java or hdin in most circumstances (Java can still clear a LAAAARGE pack of cows faster, but outside of a single consolidated group of mobs that covers the screen, nova wipes the floor on clear speed)
@@jordanlewis4308 Nah. Nova requires constant repositioning. LF wipes the screen with two javelins without moving. She also clears hallways and medium-sized rooms (not just the small ones) in one throw. Don't get me wrong, self-wielding Nova is superb and I should've mentioned her. It's just that Nova's small range is a major limitation that puts the build slightly below the furyzon. And hammredins really only excel on p7.
@@i_am_ergo idk man, for clearing large amounts of sparse mobs, like pits or tal rasha, arcane etc.. nova is easily 5x faster at clear speed. As I said if you have one large dense pack of mobs Java is faster. But outside of cows and chaos you aren’t likely to get that density with any measure of regularity. I say this as someone who has been maining Java for years in LOD and D2R. But yeah if there is a high enough density you clear the screen with one or two LF and run away easy
