WOW!!!Now this is a great build!!!! Looks really nice. He doesnt have to be paying for it the rest of his life.😊 The new RV's have to much electrical and go in the shop at least once a month if not more. He knows evey inch of his rig if it needs anything. Good for him!🤗🤗🤗
I really appreciate these budget builds. Despite not spending thousands of dollars, Rich has built a functional and still aesthetically pleasing RV. This is inspiring for those of us hoping to do the same. Thanks again, Patrick, for sharing another great build.
"it's 5 o'clock somewhere." (?) This was a Great economical build! However, it is so obvious you are American. In Canada, we say,"It's 12 o'clock (noon) somewhere." :) Loved your build!
This guy is fantastic! He has the great old school mentality...why buy when you can repurpose!! Great build. He needs to start a you tube channel of what you can find & converted into something for these bus/van builds. You dont need to spend $100,00 grand to build out a school bus (like so many do which is crazy) to get your exploring started. Why have that crazy amount of debt hanging over you when you want to just break free and go roam. Great job Sir!! Happy Trails to you & your family! 🐟🦀🐚 ps love the paint job on the outside 💙🐬
Rich. This bus is beautiful. I love the colour scheme and reusing things from old campers makes it that much more unique. You have put a heck of a lot of work into making this bus cosy and beautiful. Enjoy your travels and stay safe.
Thanks for sharing these great ideas. As a person with a stringent budget but would like to 'get the h*ll out of dodge'/get on the road without selling body parts to do so, these types of videos/ideas are valuable and appreciated. As I've told my kids, I'm to the point of throwing a cot in the back of a skoolie and leaving; it doesn't have to be fancy.
This is such a great example of recycling and how with some thought and ingenuity you can repurpose things you may have. Kudos! Thanks for the tour. Cute opener there, Patrick!
I love his daughters artwork, it makes the bus look like a fun and inviting place. The simplicity proves you don’t need to spend a lot of money and the common person can build something like this. I guessed $15-$20,000 the actual price is crazy cheap, good for him!!
Thanks again Patrick! Just got home from the beach! Barbara and I had a great time meeting you. Absolutely loved your travel guide suggestions went back there again 2 weeks later. The filming process was fun even with bad weather on the horizon, you handled it like a true professional.👍
Having an artist in the family really adds to the look of the bus compared to other projects were they didn’t have the artist, so you need to add in artistic cost as well
I wanted to do this for a while. I got a great-deal at the auction for the bus. The free stuff I got through my friends really helped to keep the costs low. My family loves it.
Galvanized wire for a curtain rod... INGENIOUS Great build! Especially love it because you've repurposed. My chicken coop is made out if pallet wood. Saved lots of money
It’s a really great build gave me a lot of great ideas I would probably consider, even if the bed is removable, putting a moisture barrier under the bed
Really cute build. Absolutely relatable. Love the outside paint and the idea that so much was recycled, found , donated! Perfect. Congratulations. I really miss the Jersey shore points. Haven’t been to Wildwood since I was a kid! Thanks Patrick!
@@scrapdaddysgarage5027 I have a duramax in a 2010 skoolie. I cant even fit my hand under the hood lol. How much space are you working with w the 4.8l? I love the mpgs i get w the diesel but working on it stinks.
I subscribed to your channel awhile back because you keep coming up with coool builds and presentation Seems your getting even better nice info thank you!
His daughter did great! This is a terrific starter unit and this guy will learn all about RV-ing on the cheap. A lot of people spend a ton of money finding out all the uninformed decisions they wish they had known before ... well wanting a different RV...
Very impressive. Love the daughters artwork. Such a fun schoolie. Great guy. Would love to have margaritas with he and his wife and my hubby too. Happy Trails! 🍸🍸
My absolute favorite build of all the vans and Skokie builds I’ve watched! This would actually work for my family as a bus for trips and is affordable. Wonderful!!
Yes it needs shore power, it can be run off a small generator. It meets one of the requirements for New York State rv conversion , independently heat or AC system.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures thank you, Patrick! I am originally from Philadelphia when I get up to Bensalem to see my elderly folks I would love to say hi!
Really nice. Very nice. Another big plus is that unlike a lot of campers it won’t leak and rot and get moldy. Got everything you need, without all the complex water and electric systems.
I have 3 children all their 20s. When we go on family trips we will stay in a motel. My wife and I only use it for camping. It’s mostly used as a rolling beach cabana.
The air conditioner is a good idea. I would consider putting brackets under the air conditioner on the outside, so even though it leans back to drain the water, you don’t have to worry about it moving.
There’s no room under the a/c. The rear door needs to open, I attached heavy metal brackets through the a/c case and bolted them to the bus frame it’s extremely secure. 👍
Great build it is crazy that bus builders want $40,000 or more for a built-out small school bus. Two of his biggest expenses were the fridge and solar power both of which are very nice, but could be done later if your budget was extra tight.
