Read the labels lenses can't be put in direct sunlight and in the vid you waved it in the sunlight. The screens burn really quickly if exposed to sunlight. I will give you the benefit of the doubt maybe you had a leans cover on and we couldn't see it. But really any sunlight can damage it so be careful.
@@kronical250 idk about the quest 2 and it's slightly moved cameras for a proxy 5% better tracking but for the quest 1 you shouldn't put the cameras in the sun either as the rays from the sun can refract into the lenses and cause damage.
For those wondering why what he did damaged his headset is because the headset’s lens act like magnifying glasses and concentrate sunlight from outside at temperatures that can permanently damage the display
If you’re surprised that the focused power of the sun messed up your display, you shouldn't be allowed to have a quest in the first place. You see, the lenses have to be a veritable magnifying glass in order to provide a somewhat decent FOV. You know what else magnifying glasses are used for? Burning ants.
I'm really glad your growing your channel I hope I see at one million subscribers your content is absolutely legendary and one of the most interesting content my friend congrats 💯💯💯
I can not believe that I touched the stove and burnt my hand! That is the most unbelievable thing that has ever happens to me! I had no idea that would happen!
meanwhile i got completely and utterly lost in the desert, taking the outer most path, using the small floating cacti, and eventually looping all the way back around to the start 💀
Did you let the inside lenses be exposed to sunlight? Because when they are hit with sunlight they basically become a magnifying glass. Also, hottest day of the year, maybe don’t work out all day, and strap something made by Facebook/Meta to your head. All of that sweat is bound to have some effect on the quest
“Wow, I can’t believe my VR headset that said not to use it while outside got sun damage from being outside! I wish I was told!” For the love of god, read the manual…
As an OG oculus quest 2 user I can confirm my screen is nearly fully black due to sun damage. They don’t really tend to mess up my gameplay because. When you’re eyes are submersed in the game you don’t tend to look at the screen your playing on. Thank you, I hope other OGs find this relatable 😂.
“BRO I CANT BELIEVE MY OCULUS DIED BECAUSE I GOT A HAMMER, SMASHED IT TO 1000 SMALL PIECES, THEN THREW IT INTO A BONFIRE, PUT IT LENS SIDE UP FOR 5 WEEKS AND THREW IT INTO AN ICE LAKE THEN I REMEMBERED IT WAS COLD SO I THREW IT INTO A VOLCANO GUYS.”
For anyone interested the reason why he has a damaged screen is because the goggle screen was in the sun. It’s not because he used them outside. The sun will damage the screen so fast
Just to help you this does this to everybody who goes outside, let me explain if you go outside and let the sunlight hit the screen it will burn it because it does and sometimes it gets so bad it makes the screen really really messed up. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
