There are more people out there like her . I am one of them . I care for 16 stray cats and 7 dogs . All of them are fixed and vaccinated. They each showed up at different times which made it easier for the vet appointments . I live in an rural area down a dirt road and people love dumping there unwanted pets and I will continue to make sure each of them have the love and care they need .

amazing to see somebody so young being passionate & caring for an animal that wasnt even meant to be their responsibility, but stepped up to make sure she had a great life. a nice ray of sunshine in an often dark, cloudy world. so glad these two found each other, hope the best for them both & that they cherish every second they have together.

Yes, they are sweet young ladies! Cats don't seem to age that much. They slow down a little, but they still have their kitten personalities. I have a calico cat who is 13 years old and just as feisty as ever! She fights with all the other cats in the house. I think that's just her way of staying protected.

I met a cat once when he was 6 months old at a dairy farm with 25 other cats. The dairy farmer never fed the cats. I stole the kitten and took him home. I'd walk him on leash around the neighborhood, and he would often show up in my dreams protecting or guiding me. Six months ago, at the age of 16, he died. Still brings tears to my eyes. Yet, he still occasionally shows up in my dreams guiding me. He appears so joyful and I can feel his love.

It took time but from a young age this girl persevered. She made sure to take care of Lucy the the best that she could while living with her parents. Thankfully, her parents lightened up on the house rules and Lucy is home.

Thank you young lady for having such a kind heart. My family always looked after our pets well, even growing up in the 70s. If we had a fire going in the fireplace, no mtter who sat in the chair facing it, if the cat came to the chair , she was the Queen and got the spot. We committed to our dogs and cats for life, unlike so many others who do not. Since the pandemic I notice way more people being kinder to animals and your generation especially. Thank you to all.

@@suchabadkitty1293 Here in BC Canada, we bring animals in from California and Mexico as our local shelters were too low in numbers from adoptions that apparently worked. I meet people all the time with rescue animals where they used to be too often pure breds to socially compete. Of course there are always idiots who follow ternds and adopt animals on a whim and the poor pets end up back in shrlters. Same as Christmas but shelters really screen adopters moreso at that time. I do share your concerns.

If allergies are an issue, there are ways to make it work. I'm allergic and lived with four cats who got over their fear of my dogs and started coming in the pet door to access the whole house. Wiping them down with a washcloth dampened with distilled water weekly cuts down allergens, and I went from wheezing in their presence to burying my face in their fur safely. Shots can also help.

What an amazing young woman! I can't imagine parents letting their teen daughter sleep outside to take care of her cat. Without getting into their medical issues, I can't believe these parents are very old since their daughter is a teen. They should've let the cat sleep in her room much earlier than they allowed. "I cant imagine", "I cant believe", and you have absolutely zero knowledge of what "they should've" done. She took in a cat knowing full well that her parents cant have a cat. (Not sure what their age has to do with any of it). That they let her keep it AT ALL is a testament to their kindness. People are so friggin soft now.

I have compassion for cats like Lucy, however I am deathly allergic to cats. You have no idea why her parents can't or won't have a cat in the rest of the house. Don't judge others as you don't know their circumstances. That said, this young lady is extremely kind and and compassionate. Her parents must have done something right! I applaud them for that.❤
