@@James-dn8dh lol I'm actually the weird hybrid of gen z and millennials where people can't agree on where the generations started and stopped (it's like 1999-2002
Makes me wanna learn how to play him, because as usual, you make it seem so easy... Though thanks to you I am gonna main Lulu for a few weeks, your videos helped me understand her better so maybe I'll try Pyke next! Thanks a lot for your videos, you are just great! xoxo and gg
I feel like an AP death's dance would be too powerful as something like Kassadin, Kayle or even like Sylas or something would become so much harder to kill.
It seems like an easy fix for Pyke, riot has probably already tried it so maybe it won't work. Don't allow Pyke to get gold from his ult. I mean they made it so that support items don't work without an ally nearby, it didn't work perfectly but it would be a deterent
Tapping pykes q will let him stab the closest enemy unless there’s a champion in range in which case it will prioritize the closest champion regardless of any minions or monsters in his way
Hey Zwag. Cool note from a pyke main : Pyke Q prioritizes champs over minions so if an enemy is in the middle of a wave, your q hits them threw the minions and its what happened at 3:05 + On 9:39 Pyke Q has a bit of hitbox behind him so it hits stuff right behind u
The moment Zwag goes past the Riven and then executes her was good. His laugh afterwards however is priceless!!! Every time he makes such a move and then laughs I literally gain 1 more year to live!!!😂😂😂
I think they can just make it so even Pyke's ult resets cost like more and more mana, smth like a kassadin's ult but less costly, say like 100/125/150/175/200, you'd pretty much force him to save up 750 mana to get a pentakill
That's dumb. Pyke's entire kit is pretty weak to compensate for his amazing ult. He's also really bad in late game and gets outscaled by pretty much anything. Also the ult doesn't reset if it's missed making the champ basically useless and it's SO easyily countered (heals, flashes, stopwatch/zhonyas, guardian angel, abilities that ressurect or make someone invincible, dashes, protobelt/galeforce or simply good movement) I'd say all of those drawbacks are more than enough to justify the strength of his ultimate. If that's not enough for you then get better, don't blame the champ, he's far from OP
@@BirbicusButticus that's a good argument. I think what would really solve this is that only other champions get money from Pykes ult killing a champion. That way solo lane Pyke can't generate the extra gold that puts him so far ahead.
Zwag you should try out Camille for once. I play her mid and she plays just like Pyke. Go sunderer and you can go full dmg or tank at that point. Ignite, flash and Electrocute. Great at roaming and counters melee champs and mages without peel. Even mages like Malzahar can be countered if you use W to pop his spell shield then E into him.
I've been playing a good bit of Lillia mid lately. Had one of my best games with her tonight. I would real like to see what you can do with her mid. Any build.
*Video Suggestion: "Jax But I Build Hybrid and Have Tank Stats with No Tank Items"* (Day 25) Long post, wanted to show my work. TLDR though, Jax with Aftershock/Demolish/Conditioning/Overgrowth + Legend: Alacrity + Last Stand doing Manamune -> Everfrost -> Titanic -> Demonic, with perhaps Deathcap to round it out. It's basically all about turning health into AD & AP, mana into AD, and with ult turning AD & AP into armor & MR, becoming a tank building only damage, health and mana. Steps, theories, and hard numbers outlined below. So the idea: - Keystone is Aftershock. The sauce here is you get to "double dip" on Aftershock - first you're nearly unkillable because Jax E no-sells AAs and mitigates skillshots, then Aftershock resistance kicks in, and the detonation corresponds with the end of the stun. - Then Demolish. You're Jax, you'll get to push tower vs low ELO players when you solo kill them. - Conditioning. This whole build is about scaling into resistances, and benefits your ultimate (confirmed it amplifies ultimate or Aftershock or both if used concurrently in practice tool). - Overgrowth is fine here but you might like Unflinching for some Tenacity since this build should (with E/Aftershock/ult) do really good staying alive on low HP. Titanic/Demonic will convert max HP into AP & AD though, which your ultimate converts into Armor & MR. Off-runes, I'm not sure about. My impulse is Legend: Alacrity & Last Stand but Triumph could jebait people pretty hard. Do AS rune shard, then armor/mr after IMO. Manaflow Band was my first suggestion but honestly Manamune is converting such a small percentage of your mana that you won't miss 250, the 1% mana regen per second is why you take Manaflow. The build is where this gets fun. - Manamune -> Everfrost. Manamune gives AD, Everfrost gives AP & more AD via feeding mana to Manamune, but also the root is a backup way to proc Aftershock (if you're kited on E) and lets you trap them in Jax's increasingly rapid AAs and AA resets. Also traps people in a CC so you _can_ guarantee your E stun. Also gives Health, which is important for the next 2 items. - I'm less sure about this next part , but I'm playtesting with Demonic & Titanic right now and I'm not a smurf so I don't get enough games reaching 4 items to test it properly. Also, I'm a mage player so I can't confidently play Jax well. My impulse on the Demonic is it's... forgivable, only because Demonic already does more %HP damage for melee champions than it does for ranged, but the main reason you're taking it is to convert health into AP (which you get off of Titanic, Overgrowth, Everfrost). Titanic is definitely 100% good on Jax though with his free attack speed. The last item is flexible, those 4 are the core build and we both know most games don't make it to 4 items. You can take all the usual nonsense that's good with Jax (which is most things), I won't bother saying why BORK or Guinsoo could be good on _Jax._ Here's some standouts that might be good in this build but not others: - With Everfrost + Manamune upgraded you're getting 56 AD from mana, Frozen Heart adds another 10 AD to this while giving 80 armor, 20 AH, more mana and fucking enemy attack speed champs. Not bad. - Zhonya is an armor AP item, but your ult converts the AP into MR to give another 22 MR as well. - Deathcap, even in a build with both Titanic & Manamune (i.e. your only AP items are Everfrost + Demonic with Titanic feeding slightly more AP from health to Demonic) makes rank 2 ult provide an extra 50 goddamned MR. So if you're having issues with enemy magic damage, this is a huge brick of MR too. - Nashor gives more AS (helping trigger Titanic/Manamune), an AP-scaling on-hit effect of its own, and the 100 AP gets turned into about 25 more MR every time you press your Ultimate. - With so much ult reliance for tank stats, Axiom Arc could actually be unironically pretty good. The four core I gave you at level 11 means about a 60s ult CD lasting 8s, or about 14% uptime. Extra base CDR on Axiom gets it down to 50s flat, plus you know, lowers every time you get kills. With 2 kills it's down to 30s, which means it's up about 25% of all the game. Also Axiom gives an extra 20 Armor from converted AD. - Gargoyle gives 60 armor + MR base, but more importantly, +5% bonus armor & MR per champion attacking you (capping at +25%). If you do enough damage but just need to survive, this could be hella jebait with the overlapping Gargoyle shield, E, aftershock, and ult, giving you so much staying power with only one tank item giving tank stats. - Hullbreaker converts its bonus health into both AD & AP, and from there into armor & MR, on top of giving bonus AP/MR. Jax still a split pusher with this build. - Anathema counters the one fed person long enough to kill them and its shitload of health is converted into 13 bonus AD & AP and from there, again, more tank stats. Since you're prone to getting fed enough to be able to replace boots in longer games: Dead Man's Plate, Ghostblade, and Force of Nature, all honorable mentions. FON is straight-up reduction of 25% of all magic damage, +10% MS. Having Ghost could also help justify boot replacement if you snowball super hard (and can just be good on Jax who can have trouble reaching what he needs to kill, and for split pushing generally). All numbers provided by going into practice tool, leveling to 11, buying the 4 core, then buying each item in question to figure out how many stats it converts to, selling it, and buying the next item to test. With 4 core items, base stats with fully stacked manamune, after 12m for conditioning, with fully stacked Legend Alacrity: 251 AD, 181 AP, 1.0 attack speed, 81 armor, 63 MR. Upon using Everfrost to root (triggering Aftershock): 131 armor, 118 MR. Upon using ultimate: 210 armor, 154 MR (68% & 61% reduction respectively). Ultimate with Aftershock: 337 armor (78% reduction), 278 MR (74% reduction).
The problem with Pyke is, that his Ult executes if the target is below a certain treshhold. If it was just damage like Cho or Darius Ult, it might be more balanced. And the gold doubling is dumb too. At least make it so he cant assist himself and get double gold for solo kills... But i guess Pyke wont get anywhere near a balanced state..
Hey Zwag thanks for the content as always! Day 142 of asking for Battlemage/Exhaust Sona, with guardian, shield bash, bone plating, revitalize, manaflow and gathering, items are lich bane, crown mythic, archangels/seraph's, mejai's, and deathcap (and of course bring Exhaust lol). Semi tankyish and very fast battlemage that does great dmg and utility and can win a ton of duels. Can even work against zed/yas mids.
I was stationed in South Korea. I loved it there! I recommend going sometime and trying all the food. Also the worst flight i had flying there or back was 18 hours we got caught in a head wind and it increased the time soo much longer.
I would like to see death's dance grant health instead of ad and armor, and maybe the healing should be removed or based off of bonus/max hp. That way, it can be an item any champion can use rather than being a fighter item. The anti-burst it gives is so valuable for a lot of champion types (like ap bruisers and tanks) and against a lot of champion types (such as burst mages that you know...deal magic damage). Considering the anti-burst is very strong against mages and the passive 'reduces' the damage dealt to you, it just seems strange for the item to grant armor IMO and the ad should be removed because the item is defensive, not offensive, and it can be used by ap bruisers that don't want the ad.
Ap champ already have a mystic item for tanking purpose already, and we don’t even have to talk about hourglass. Leave death dance for ad champ please.
Pyke passive healing and bonus gold from ult+triumph heal and bonus gold. Plus deaths dance bleed cleanse and armor increases pyke's passive healing. Literally the perfect item for him
Zwag you should try my Kennen build I made up : glacial augment Rylai’s first item. Evenshroud, Horizon, Zhonya’s. The stuns/slows are so fun and it will make your team do more damage as you are designed for immobilizing and making enemies vulnerable.
mages can have an ap death dance as soon as they give flat magic pen the lethality treatment and they only get the full value at level 18 and nerf void staff from 45% pen down to 30%/35% like seryldas/dominiks. mages are pretty damn strong this season because flat magic pen + void is broken. while death dance as an individual item is kindof broken and might need a bit of a nerf, that doesnt mean mages as a class have to be buffed even more. and lets not forget that in most fights mages have the initiative advantage because theyre ranged. there has to be some sort of drawback to being ranged itself. in a properly warded environment they can always position where they can fish for poke without repercussions which most assassins and bruisers cant. (if its not like pyke or akali) mages also get zonyas which is in its own way pretty broken. imo nerf death dance a bit, and nerf pyke a lot but dont buff mages. also nerf akali because screw that champion :D i just dont like her.
tank zyra -day 3. comet, mana flow, transcendence, gathering storm, bone plating, overgrowth/unflinching, adaptive, arm/mr, arm/mr. frostfire gauntlet, deamonic, frozen heart, fimbulwinter, randuin/force of nature. u can skip fimbulwinter for deadman's, spirit visage or even warmogs. flash barrier :) max Q first XD
PHASE RUSH MID GAREN Runes: Phase rush nimbus cloak celerity gathering storm second wind unflinching build: Stridebreaker Mortal reminder Dead mans (into AD) Force of nature (into AP) (usually worth it to have both of those) i like to build full damage after that, my favorites are stormrazor and rapidfire cannon. with rapid fire cannon garen Q range is wild but in some cases you could build a steraks or a deaths dance, usually i only do so when my team severely lacks a frontline tank this build counters ranged champs and hyper mobile melee champs. very good in the midlane (fuck yasuo tho)
General strategy is to proc phase rush with auto reset, Ignite, ironspike whip, or stridebreaker, into a Q+E combo to quickly proc phase rush and spin on their head until they die. you can flash on their head if theyre smart enough not to come too close
IIRC wooglet's from twisted treeline was the same item as original deathcap before they split the functions into current deathcap and hourglass in current summoner's rift
Yeah, because Pyke mid isn't a good and reliable choice :) Zwag plays against silvers and only uploads wins or games in which he does well. It's entertaining but it doesn't make his "expertise" true. If you wanna play Pyke, play him support, he's really strong there. And if your Pyke team mate actually was playing supp well, bad players happen xD
Please try this one: THE Mathematically correct Sett: Runes: Grasp, Shield bash, Boneplating/secondwind (depending on matchup), Overgrowth Absolute Focus, Gathering Storm(for maximum Mathematically Correct Sett) Triumph, Tenacity (for safer option) The build: No boots! Immortal Shieldbow (or you could run Goredrinker, for the Hp reset or Powler's Claw for singlet-target F* you mode, but immortal is the best for great AOE) Titanic Hydra Hullbreaker (for the stats, not for the buff) Black Cleaver Edge of Night (for the stats, but cool effect) Silvermere Dawn (or Sterak's Gage if with Goredrinker/Powler's Claw) RED POTION!!!! And a team of 4 other people: Ornn (for buff) Yuumi (For buff, but She or Ornn must buy Evenshroud) Full AP Janna (for Her E's shield's bonus AD) Full AP Lulu (for Her Ult's bonus HP) And preferably 4 Infernal dragons Baron buff The game plan: Yuumi jumps on Janna, Janna uses E, Yuumi jumps to Lulu, Lulu uses Ult, Yuumi jumps on Sett, Evenshroud proc, Sett W I dont want to Ruin the feeling for you, so Please dont read further, if you want to make a video out of it, BUT if anyone wants to know, after 30-40 Mins of stacking, Sett W Should hit somewhere around of ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SiMHTK15Pik.html&ab_channel=chowderrockz True damage. (With max Sett, Janna and Lulu builds, obviously)
LOL playing mind games with Riven 🤣 side note, you’ve gotta visit Korea and Japan! Not even for league, just for fun. Stay a long time to make it worth the flight. Book an exit row seat and you’ll get 6 feet of leg room without having to pay for biz class. Pre-pandemic I’d go to both places at least 3-4 months every year. Looking to get back there soon!
