Quick question, is it possible to play two players with this device? We are travelling around this summer. This device looks like it will be easily portable and give kids quick and easy entertainment, in hotel rooms.
this is just a pi zero or a pi zero 2 w in a fancy case its why its so smooth you can just make one for less money and no chinese back doors (this is not paranoid) they actually do not see a problem sneaking in back doors in a lot of things they sell its required in there country (its why there phones are banned in usa / uk )
Thanks for reviewing this Powkiddy Y6. For the price, you get lots. I read the comment section. Heating could be an issue. I agree with the comments. Open it up, and drill some holes for the hot air to get released. This made me remember when my friend put his PS3 in a tight shelf area that enclosed the PS3. It cooked his PS3. Then my friend had to purchase a new PS3, but kept it in an open space, and had no problems after this due to air circulation.
True man. Isn't the pro x better and more ReLiable. Some China stuff are too delicate. How much us this? Otherwise I'll just pay someone to modified my ps2 with alotes of games.
Even if it plays a game like God of War that stick probably gets really hot and at that point how long will that HD gaming stick will last before it burns up. If these companies are going to make these HD tv sticks or Android Boxes need to put fans in these things to keep them cool.
if I had this, I would try to open it up/cut it open to at least drill a few holes through both sides of it, to help it breathe, I did that to a old OTA HDTV Converter box I had that would get real hot, Also, love the "This Device has no built in game programs, Users need to install by themselves" they ain't foolin anyone 🤣 lol
Not worth it imo. Just received mine today and while its impressive that it manages to run some 3d systems ok, it doesn't provide a good collection of games imo. My version has no sega genesis, sound is missing in a good amount of ps1 games and the filter system they put on 2d retro games takes away from any nostalgia you would want from older games. Id give this a 4/10 from someone who doesn't know the ends and outs of emulation.
A shame new TV’s,monitors etc. can’t be made to play old school games the right way.4:3 aspect ratio back in the day was your whole screen no black borders. I personally don’t like how old stuff is displayed on modern tv’s.The concept of out with the old in with the new is pissing me off 😤😡off big time. Why hasn’t anyone made a tv or monitor modern for older content people just don’t care anymore. All these upscalers, wires, devices for nothing just to provide clutter when the simple solution is the tv or monitor in small or big screen displays smh 🤦🏽♂️. I’m a real gamer who loves older games I do like some newer games but most of them just lack fun factor.
Different aspect ratios don't look the same on modern tvs because the tv is a different shape from what tvs used to be. That's what the aspect ratio is. There's nothing that can change that I less they start making 4:3 shaped tvs again.
HI, I'm looking for one of these that will run Goldeneye N64 well enough to play. will this one do that??? Thank you for your videos I really enjoy them
Just go buy a used 64 unless you have one already and go buy everdrivefor $199 to 299... You will have every game from the United States Europe and Japan on one cartridge and what you will never have to worry about lagging or nothing ever playing again and you'll be playing original hardware.. unless you are really Tech Savvy most people will never be able to get these devices to run right on their computer or the little cheap device they brought just get that ever drive and plug it in to your original console and be thoroughly amazed at all the stuff you can do with it instead of wasting time on that other stuff.. I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or anyting but I promise you'll thank me later.
@@kennyjurgens9084 No prob, that company makes them for a lot of different systems mostly cartridge based. KRiZZ is the OG of it tho. I tried to post some other stuff for you to know but apparently RU-vid didn't want me to pass that information along so they just deleted my comment lol... But yeah any cartridge base system the everdrive is where it's at. KRiZZ tho don't use the knockoffs
I have this system and I love it. I have only run into issues with 2 games not loading. Some people do not have the time to create their own. It's 40 bucks and plug and play, what else could you ask for. I am not a purist , so it's the great for passing the time and the game selection is amazing.
I dunno, man. The fact that it can't even play Mario Kart 64 without taking a dump is a major demerit against it in my eyes, even for just casual play.
I understand there is a version of Emuelec online that doesn't have restricted setting options.. maybe.. and I do mean maybe, the Emuelec could be replaced with the unlocked version and see how much the games could be tweaked then.
You keep saying to build your own. I've tried both Retroarch and Coinops and just can't get any of it to download correctly. That's why people like me need these preloads.
As someone who uses old smartphones for emulation, it doesn't surprise me at all that this can run these games this well. My 7 year old LG V20 runs most PSP games in full speed with normal settings at 1080p, and many at 1440p (PSP games look great on that 1440p LCD). A 60 dollar dongle outperforming a 70 dollar (used, of course) 7 year old smartphone is not shocking.
A new version of the firmware has been released and now its a lot better than it was corrected aspect ratios configure your controls multiple save slots , faster psp emulation and nice background music in the menu system
2 Games I would like you to play on your next plug an play that are notorious for not running well or having bad rom tips are Monster Truck Madness N64 & Vigilante 8 Second Offence ...
at least for people who are not WILLING to set up their own system...they have a ton of options to just buy a ready to go unit. This one seems fine but not for me.
It's about damn time the smaller chips start evolving into something better! I've held off buying any new emulator console stuff for about two years. I am waiting on a cheap option to play PS2 games on my tv but alas, I am probably gonna put a Emu-Pc together sooner than that... Good video!
They have - look at what's possible on a Steam Deck, you're just not going to find those powerful, smaller chips in something cheap like this. You get what you pay for (generally) when it comes to tech. You can't expect the world for $50-100, proper emulation, particularly of newer systems requires a decent bit of CPU power.
No, the best? so far was a super console X3. 117 games I think, but none of my favorites. Estsy has FD for a PS1 mini for two hundred. But you need to buy a mini first. That's a little $$ for a glorified toy. What sucks is I found a awesome tv stick that has the full genesis library for $80 delivered. Wtf? No love for the Sega CD I guess.
Emulation has literally never been anything but hardware intensive. It may looks easy today, but that's often because you are running software that was originally developed on/for a much less powerful machine 10+ years ago.
My understanding of the emulation backend (emuelec) is available online so why not just remove the settings restriction with updating it to an un restricted version and fix all the graphic setting restrictions.. then i think you'd have a winning product.. Not a purist, but if you're selling someone a product with licensed roms, at least give them every chance to play said roms and configure each rom to its "premium" (premium being subjective)
dont bother !!!!! this is absolute trash !! joysticks are the worst .. and also most games are not working or in Chinese !!! i got this and i regret wasting my momey !!c
A nice piece of product overall and I considered buying this for a second.. but since half of my favorite games are on the N64 and this apparently suffers from crashes in that section then it's going to be a rock hard pass on this one for the time being.
@@bigantho1557 apparently if I want smooth N64 emulation I need to invest in one of those mini PC's and they are way too pricey for my wallet for the time being.
@@jenserikolsen3515 The best I’ve seen the 64 on is this original xbox i bought with over 50,000 games. This cool asian dude was refurbishing them. He even made the fan better on it. The 64 on that plays about 50% of the games. Thats the best ive seen. So many good ones just don’t play. My vita has 64 on it, can’t even play one game on it. If that dude still had his number, I would give it to you because he was selling those bad boys for 250 bucks and it was well worth it. You could pick different skins to put on the system as well. It’s all well done on the systems. You can see the game your on before you start it. Got the cheat codes for them as well on there. So worth it.
@@SuguruMontanaive been reading up on that myself and what ive found is it may look like youre saving the game but youre actually not, the only save you actually have is the save state thing which isnt always reliable from what ive seen with PC steeamers so i cant imagine its any better foe a micro sized retro console.
to be honest powkiddy has been better then most of these emulation systems from china my handhelds made by them play my games as good as my custom made gamepi handheld made from the rasberry pi
I was thinking the same thing, I got a jungle green 64 in high school and all I did was RGB mod it, I got the brawler64 controller which I like for some games and some games I like to use my regular controller... I use the HD retrovision component cables on my Sony 480p CRT. Everything looks great everything plays great as I use a ever drive with every game from every region on it.. some people prefer to use the SCART adapter to HDMI with a modulator or retro tink for HDMI hookup but I really prefer to use those HD retrovision component cables on the CRT I think it just looks better. Also I live in the US so I don't have a SCART TV to compare it to but it looks way better than the regular cables. Also I never have any problems with games loading skipping lagging blah blah blah because you're playing on the original hardware and it's worth all $250 for that ever drive with over 1,000 games on that play flawlessly on demand. I have one for my NES,SNES,64 and GDMU you for my Dreamcast. Soon I'm going to do my PlayStation 1 and 2 like that and my Saturn instead of trying to worry about doing all these emulation devices on my PC because it takes a lot of time to set that stuff up get it working right and to me it's just better to pay for that ever drive or in the PS2 case and Saturn just get that mod chip or iso mods and let somebody put them on in it and load the games for you and never worried about it again. I mean it's taking me like 5 years ago get three or four of those systems done but that's just better than me wasting my money buying a PC trying to do all that stuff and screwing it up. I did it on one of my old pcs one time and got the NES super Nintendo and Sega CD to run pretty good but that everdrive is the bomb unless you got money unlimited time and don't have to work everyday like me so you don't have time to sit here and play with garbage to try to get it I just like that simple let's plug it up and GO!!!
@@Seriouslydave a good choice. I got a gaming tower from my wife's friend as a early birthday present and I'm been using retrobat on it. N64 will be nothing on that tower.
I don't even know why people need this you can get any leaders for your fire stick unless you want to play some of the higher and consoles aside from that you don't really need it as the Amazon fire stick cuz it's pretty much everything
Do you know of any of these that has original nintendo with games like Tecmo SuperBowl, Dr Mario, Tecmo Basketball, and Mike Tysons Punchout? Seems like some system will have all of those, but none of them say the games that are on it
I bought one works great for me. I just wanted something to have fun with. I am not crazy about the controller, can anyone give me a recommendation for replacement, something a bit more solid. Thanks in advance
Peace and blessings to everyone. 😅🤣 I'm just laughing because that dongle is garbage. Just being honest. It would make me angry discovering I can't play the full version of any of the classic games due to a crash and then pushing me away from gameplay.
Hi guys, I was uploading some games in the micro sd, and I do not know what happened, but the N64 emulator is not appearing in the system. When I turn it on, all the consoles appear except the n64. Any idea what it could be, please? In the sd memory, it appears the n64 folder with the games. Thank you in advance
I dont mind the aspect ratio, i actually prefer my games to take up the whole screen, the problem we see is the HD tvs and up hold a lot more pixels on screen and of course games crash but theyre usually isolated incidences and of course mistakes can be made when the roms are installed as well as being copied from a defective version of the game copy that it came from.
I recently bought one and cannot get it to work. Everything is plugged in correctly, all that, tried it on two TVs. It says nothing found on the HDMI connection. Any ideas?
I've seen a lot of that exact box with same electronic devices sold by different companies that I believe put their own variety of emulator consoles on it. In other words, I think the company that makes the actual device is separate from the companies that add the roms to them.
Nope. I got into the ppsspp menu last night, my friend had bought one despite me advising not too. It does have alot of roms bur the emulation is iffy. Ctr you can't even see the other racers. The input delay on the controllers is also terrible
a more recent comment, "My unit freezes and gets extremely 🔥..." if I get one of these, I'm definitely going to be looking at a cooling option for it, starting with cracking open the white case, and drilling numerous 3/16th inch holes through both sides for air flow,
