I genuinely love that he stood by this act to this day. He didnt change or go “normal” to have a career. He’s still Puddles despite being able to sing whatever.
No way... are you saying that modern music sucks?!?! Reeeaallly?! I can't fathom that stolen songs and same rhythms over and over again would get BORING!!!!
This man has a beautiful soul. I've been watching his more recent vids the last couple days, but seeing this was so vulnerable and seeing him truly appreciate the audiences reaction was moving.
You should check him out with postmodern jukebox on RU-vid, I've only just seen this version and it feels rushed, which considering the music he used is understandable. Him and Haley Reinhart are incredible and I wish I'd seen the music videos before I'd gone blind, but the music there is far more tailored to his style.
He deserved to go further than he did that performance deserves the golden buzzer I admire him more for staying true to himself and not giving in to change hopefully one day I’ll be able to see him perform
Puddles is the only clown that's driven me to tears with their beautiful voice, talent like that is not easy to find when you go looking for it. Glad he finally made it to agt.
Most people don't realize it but when you get a yes from Simon that means more than every other yes from all the other judges because if he doesn't like something he doesn't just say no he will critique the hell out of you but when he says yes that means he was impressed and he's not an easy man to impress
I'd been hearing the name "Puddles Pity Party" for quite a while. But I'd never really been interested enough to see what all the chatter was about. Then my wife and I stumbled across a video of him doing Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage / Eclipse". I was kind of like the audience in this video. I was kind of grinning at first, and thinking, "What the hell is this?" But by the end of it, I was thoroughly impressed, and surprised at how much I like it. Then we stumbled across him doing Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". Wow. My favorite so far. We wound up going down the Puddles Pity Party rabbit hole, and I've yet to hear something that didn't impress me in some way. His talent is undeniable. But it does make me sad that someone this talented literally had to put on a clown suit to get our attention. But really, don't all performers play a character, really? And his character is great. Yeah, it's a shtick. But it's a good one. I think you could consider me a fan at this point. I told my wife during our rabbit hole exploration that "I think we've been infected". lol. We most definitely have. The icing on the cake was stumbling across this video here after the fact. I may have loved this performance most of all.
I love that he is continuing the art of clowning in a new and fresh way that will attract people back to enjoying clowns, clowns don't have to be comedians, they're performers in general
I saw Puddles at Just for Laughs in Montreal. He walked through the aisle in front of me, pulled the hair elastic off the ponytail of the guy in front of me and started chewing it like it was gum. He spat it out in disgust and gave the guy a dirty look. Comedy genius
While i despise AGT, this was a masterpiece on many levels. So many of us live our lives as the clown represented by Puddles, feeling like imposters in our own skin, with an overwhelming sentiment of unworthiness and fear of rejection. Putting on a mask of joy for others, a visual and psychological diversion from the truth; that the mask is the embrace of the only thing we know how to be… unworthy, it is what protects the fragile soul from the savage and unforgiving nature of others and ourselves. What an incredible representation of what’s happening in our society today.
@@THLaunched it is logical to assume that the creators of any televised show will do everything in their power to ensure the highest ratings possible. AGT is not about the talent, but rather, the accumulation of wealth at the expense of the incredibly talented individuals who at the end of the day must return to the grind of life. In comparison, fhose running the show line their pockets with money they themselves did not earn. When is the last time Simon Cowl displayed any talent? Never! Imagine a world in which people in a society are so preoccupied with making ends meet that they set aside their own potential and talents so that they are able to put food on the table and secure a roof over their loved ones and somewhere in between exhaustion and worry exists a show everyone can connect to because it puts on display that which most individuals are forced to suppress… talent. I say imagine but in fact, we are that society. Puddles represented exactly that; he broke out of his shell and displayed his real talent. He found his voice. We must all do the same. Sorry about the rant. Hope my answer satisfies your question.
@@FightingTruth-sz5tp hah! “Fighting Truth” huh? Virtue signal much? You have the right to your own blinders as does every other individual on this earth. Your non sequential suggestion of “go into therapy” suggests a lack of self awareness. Your title suits you… you truly are “Fighting Truth”.
@@indodinoyoutube lol that's the way it _should_ be but if the story is sad enough they could flop around on the stage honking like a schizophrenic goose and *boop* golden buzzer
I saw this back when you 1st auditioned and never ever forgot it. You Puddles are truly a gift to this world. I love everything you do and I totally got your act from the start. Please never change your beautiful soul we need more pure people in this world.
I love Puddles so much. First discovered him when he first started posting on RU-vid like what, 10 years ago? Absolutely cannot listen to him without shedding a tear (or a whole puddle of em'). Happy to hear by the comments that he is still going strong. Time to look him up and shed a few.
The range and resonance of his voice, amazing . He enunciates the words to the songs clearly. So many singers slur, alter and mangle the words to where you need the lyrics written out to know what the song says.
For what it's worth, we have had some famous clowns in America to include John Wayne Gacy and our current steward in office Joseph " piss pants" Biden.
That was simply fantastic. I certainly didn’t expect that voice to come out of him- I can’t stand this show, but he’s the best thing I’ve ever seen come from it.
The reaction he had was genuine. He was floored by the response. I love this man for so many reasons. He is so talented but as a human he is so kind. I love everything he does.
I am 57 and consider myself a man's man but every time I see this performance, by this giant of a man, I cry. It's not the song. It's Mike's incredible voice and his reaction to the audience's love for him. It makes being a human being seem amazing.
This Grand Artist of the vocal chords takes songs made by others and then takes them all to another level. Those songs and his interpretive versions then make those songs Fresh, New, and then they become all his own.
I’ve been following his career for several years now. The man has never missed a note. His voice is pure , clear , concise , what we in the business call “Perfection”! He’s WAY TO GOOD FOR THIS FEASCO CALLED A TV SHOW …. Glad to see where he’s heading on his own. It was a good performance for exposure , but that’s all.
When you got Simon standing up fast, thats a good indication, this guy is f...amazing. Simon is the best judge on planet earth, the rest, not even close.
If you havent already, I recommend checking out "Post Modern Jukebox's" version of this song with Puddles singing. He has honed in much more his talent, and their take on the song is great as well.
Everyone deserves their puddles moment. Stand in stage pour your guts out over what you love and be accepted. This is beautiful and human god blasts that clown I hope he’s doing ok
I just recently saw Puddles perform in Atlanta at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, at a benefit for local theatres. He is himself, he is massively talented, and he is totally delightful. (He's also 6ft 8" tall!) When "introduced", the announcer said "The next act needs no introduction" and walked off the stage without a word. Then we were blown away! Love Puddles! Only speak well of him!
WELL! You know its *GREAT* When Simon actually SMILES 😍AND ENJOYS HIMSELF 😋ALTHOUGH Very RARE !!!! .... HE EVEN GOT UP! AND CLAPPED! .... I love to come back and see Puddles ORIGINAL version of this song ...I actually love it more than the ACTUAL VERSION!
