Well done... long overdue. Give the folks from the company a call for a little tech support. This is going to be a real game changer for you. You will save time and metal. You can get more cuts at one time and less scrap out of a sheet of metal. You're going to be asking yourself why you waited so long. Very cool and just a great addition to your shop. 😎👍

I have a CNC plasma cutter sort of like yours. It is a sort of a trick figuring out how much power you use on the plasma cutter and your feed rate. In time you will figure it out. Another important thing is to have dry air. Water in your air will give you bad cuts. The other word of advice I can give you is to clean your electrode and cap. I use a scrub pad or a wire brush. Once you learn your machine, you will be just fine. Just like welding, have a good ground. The great thing is that you can make your own programs and that will allow you to make custom parts. I make metal art with mine. 😃😃😃😃😃 I have a video on my channel but lots of people have home CNC machines now days.

Glad to see that you got one with a water tray under the table. we had a plasmacam cnc cutter and it would fill a MASSIVE building with smoke to the point I wore a respirator all day. It was terrible. we had dust stacking up everywhere to the point it would slide off of angled surfaces. The one thing to note is that your plasma cutter may have speeds and cut heights for various sizes of metal in the user manual. the hypertherm we have does. there is a fine area that once you get it cutting right, its a pretty clean cut. However the bummer is that even once that is running right, the taper never goes away. Its just part of the machine. But its about time you got one! once you master it then it becomes an amazing tool.

First purchase should be a straight torch so there is no chance of twist , twist = height fluctuations & possible angle fluctuations, just the weight of the suspended lead at direction changes will eventually loosen the grip on that torch head , there is a reason professional CNC tables all use straight torches , can’t wait to see what fab you do next 👍

You gotta get the automatic THC, well worth the money. I know very little about metal working, and I've never even cut metal with a plasma torch until I got the machine (same model). Works best when you're using thin metal that never seems to lay flat. I've never measured the torch height, voltage or anything. I run a few line tests for the speed and amperage. This'll be great for all your designs, you could sell them CNC cut ready.

I highly recommend going on to FireShare and getting the cut files for the taller Z axis height. Search for "Stanchion Riser 2" and Original" or "Langmuir pro adjustable gantry riser brackets". There's a ton of other cool user submitted upgrade parts as well as artsy fartsy kinds of stuff. I also did the electronics splash shield "CrossFire PRO Electronics Guard", aiming laser mount and the torch splash shield. Not cut related but it is so nice to use a wireless game pad with my shop pc to move all three axis. I recommend looking into it.

thanks for doing the video. I am on the fence buying this EXACT setup (pro and cut60) . like you I keep going back and forth on the pro or 2x2. my shop is smaller then yours so leaning towards the 2x2. I also keep going back and forth on the cut60 vs hypertherm30xp. i know the Hypertherm is small, but I don't plan on cutting over and 1/8th and precision cutting / cut accuracy is the most important to me. is it possible that the china machines lack in this department? Afterall the torch is cheap, and the tip style has forsure not been engineered to the point that the Hypertherm has. thoughts?

Hey Austin, so I have the exact same table. I got it around last Christmas and it really is an amazing tool. I do run into the same issue you are though. It will cut better with a new nozzle and electrode (as you learned) but I think the reason they go bad so quickly is because of not having 100% dry compressed air. I also have the same MotorGuard dry air filter going to my plasma cutter, but I burn through tips very fast and I occasionally get that fault where the torch doesn't pierce though all of the way, or just fails to fire on broken cuts. You really need to get one of those industrial air dryers that dry the piss out of your compressed air. The cheapest one I can find is like $500 at harbor freight. Keep up the dope videos though, Man!!!!

I made an aftercooler for my compressor that goes between the discharge of the compressor head and the tank. It hangs on the fan shroud of the belt drive so the fan draws air through it. There are a couple of moisture traps on the low side just before the air goes into the tank that drain automatically every time the compressor cycles. I still have a moisture trap after the tank but I rarely see more than a drop or two in it. When I drain the tank at the end of the day there might be a couple of drops of water. I think I have less than $150 in parts in the setup.

All that being said, a really good fitlration system and a hood will go a long way in cleanliness. and the plasma table is a great tool for someone who wants to build accurate brackets and other metal parts.

Not to be rude but YOU DIDN’T do your homework if you purchased that system. Those systems are “likely” Chinese imports from HUAWEI the cost to build the control box is under $100. They have improper grounding and EMI/EMF protections. In fact, you can’t ground your machine properly according to all plasma mfgers or CNC builders. They now use a $4 arduino nano knock off as the main board. They use a small cheap driver found in old 3D printers and the worst 5$ TB stepper driver on the market (bad at idle on motors) They have no EMI shielding in the box and don’t use ferrites or drains. They’ve continued to screw up the necessary relay’s. They use plastic connectors for the “trigger plug” They use cheap unshielded motor cables usually used for household printers! They didn’t/don’t implement regular safety features like limit switches or E-stops until the “pro” version after everyone demanded them. They use extremely cheap T series lead screws instead of the appropriately sized ball-screw. There software is likely an open source GRBL Arduino cnc clone or inspired by it. It often freezes and crashes on users do to the lack of proper EMI/EMF/grounding and the fact that the main Arduino board is only a couple layer PCB so it gets effects by EMI. The free handheld controller is a $2.99 BLE/WIFi keyboard. They stole many of their product improvements from community members trying to fix the junk they sell. They are a good marketing company and RU-vidrs continue to push their subpar trash onto viewers and sell junk to their community. Anyone who knows 2-3axis CNBC’s and plasma cutters know they are trash. The total cost to build a Langmuir pro is under 1,200. If one wanted.
