@Mijal15 Год назад
@@baqly I totally understand what you are saying and where he is coming from. But that in itself is an arbitrary condition for calling something arbitrary. You (and possibly Jan) may see it as "gimmicky" but where is the line drawn between gimmick and feature? Only catching 1 Pokémon per route restricts your options, only catching unevolved Pokémon restricts your options. Why is one more arbitrary than another? They are both restrictions you place upon yourself to change how you play Pokémon.
@danfelder8062
@danfelder8062 Год назад
What he means is that the impact of the choice doesn't always correlate meaningfully to a specific outcome. A choice like "no overlevelling higher than a gym leader's highest level pokemon" is made to prevent grinding past the point of challenge. Banning in-battle items makes battles harder and damage more consequential. Only allowing first stage pokemon that have evolutions is different, because it has highly variable impact based on the pokemon available; as pokemon like chansey are stronger than many evolved pokemon. As such, the rule feels like a more arbitrary restriciton, similar to a restriction like "I can only use [okemon with three or more syllables in their name" would be.

While other Nuzlocke reactions feel like a professional talking to little league players, with this it's like another major league pro came to town and the two communicate on an eye to eye level. IJan's respect is very tangible, and justifiably so!

Thanks for giving Freezai some exposure here! I've been thinking "he should be above 100k subs" for a good while now, he makes good, regular content to educate on competitive Pokemon history and other things. Hoping this helps tip him towards that milestone. :)

It's really upsetting that Freezai's Littlelock videos don't get more attention, they're all so good! Glad that you brought attention to it, but it is a little heartbreaking that this video has 10x the views of the original video on his own channel. But it makes sense since nuzlocke content isn't the primary draw of his channel like it is for you.

I am not surprised, freezai is a competitive Pokémon player, and for him to have a custom avatar means that he won an important tournament. His videos usually are about pokemon in competitive like how good or broken they can be with certain sets, etc,... There are some videos about certain pokemon that he explains technical information about the gen that is talking about
