About: Satisfactory
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

What recipe do you use for your computers?
@T33K3SS3LCH3N
@T33K3SS3LCH3N Год назад
The crystal computer (oscillator+AI limiter) with insulated crystal oscillator (quartz crystal, rubber, AI limiter) and caterium circuit board. 30 Computers cost about: -400 raw quartz -220 copper ore -160 caterium ore -500 crude oil -700 water So one can reasonably get an excessive amounts of computers from a single tier 2 miner for each resource, only the Quartz needing a bit of a boost. It takes a lot of alternative recipes, but I'd rather gather those up before getting into complicated stuff like computers. It takes small amounts of many different resources, which lends itself to megabases/cityscapes where it is easy to exchange goods between lots of different manufacturing lines. And all of the intermediate products of this recipe are also used in other highly efficient alternative ones.

normal at minimal requirements because I'm not efficient lol.

It depends what I have unlocked and where my factory is on a save but I really like the crystal recipe. I will often create a central production line of crystal oscillators to supply other factories for using them in alt recipes. Any excess quartz can be used for silica for stuff like silicon circuit board or going into the fuel production line for a nuclear power plant.

For me it's usually caterium computers and silicon boards, but the other way around is also really good. And if you want some memes, electrode boards + caterium computers is pretty interesting option))
@TAiiNE

That is one thing I strugle with. I end up making a big room and just have everything I need made in that big room. I really should try separating the differing productions into their own rooms
@josephle5373
@josephle5373 4 месяца назад
For me it's always that I don't know if i will scale up the production or need subproducts elsewhere. So even if I build in different rooms the rooms are half empty to appease my future self... Even though it's much better to leave the factory as is and build a new one elsewhere... I guess that just comes from me not knowing how much of a certain product I'm going to need, as I, after 200 hours, have yet to finish the game.
@TAiiNE
@TAiiNE 4 месяца назад
@@josephle5373 I found a counter for this myself in doing the math to see 'how much of x item can I make off of the ore coming in', and then built it all up as if I already had the 780 belts unlocked. Using smart splitters set to overflow so items will only flow to the next set after belts got upgraded. Any pipe work needed I set up to work souly on the Mk. 1 pipes, so even after unlocking Ml, 2 there'd be no point to upgrade any older stuff as it already worked. Like right now, I am bringing in 3 pure nodes worth of caterium on 480 belts, but have enough refineries to turn all of that into the pure alt as if I had 780 belts worth. Smart splitters make it so only half the production is in use atm. This same goes for the quickwire I'm turning it into, making 3000 and after upgrading to 780 it will make 6000. So on and so forth between electronics, high speed connectors etc. So all my designs are build up end game style so I already have everything I need placed down. Expanding? Unless I would be bringing in another node of ore, Id likely build elsewhere then.

I watch you do this... and I'm just flabbergasted. I was proud of a crappy little factory I made for something or other, but this... THIS makes my creations look like a toddler with building blocks compared to I.M. Pei or something. Seriously amazing job. Looks beautiful.

Totally agree. In my first playthrough i rebuild my factory 3 times to made it look prettyer but in comparision with this my factory is a bunch of block like buildings connectet with spagetti conveyors. And it is a 1000 hours playtrough

This is insane! I have loved this game since before piping and I have been missing out on quality gameplay. I have had multiple saves and the farthest I’ve gotten was to oil refinery😂. This is a whole new world and I’m loving it. SUBSCRIBED!

I agree and I would add the most efficient way (ressource wise) is the combination of caterium computer alt recipe and caterium circuit board alt recipe (for the circuits). For the circuits Silicon circuit board is nice too, but do not scale a well as caterium circuit board.

So i was looking at recepies yesterday.... andif you make both copper and iron alloy recepies to make both, youd be creating 45 resources from 100 of both. Seems pretty efficient.

At about 2:30, TX drops down the footprint of the factory. This is where I always struggle. I feel architecting and styling large factories would be much easier if I could accurately estimate what the footprint and layout is prior to plopping everything down. I always find myself taking too much or not enough space and that the layout just ends up feeling wonky because I need to add unexpected extensions or some area is stuck with too much space.

I like the pure copper alt, but I find myself using the mixed copper alt using iron. It gives more copper for less power and space, and I think water is more valuable than the little iron I use. Am I the weird one?

@@tonyjgray8897 Water is not valuable at all, but for end game min-maxing you'll need loads of copper. As you said, the copper alloy ingot recipe is superior in that regard and there's always enough iron.

@superdog3293 9 месяцев назад
I'm on the same page as you. I disable the pure caterium/iron/copper ingot recipes in the factory planning tools because using the refineries instead of smelters/foundries is so much less space and power efficient. There are enough raw resources for me.

I rely heavily on quartz for computers. I make all my circuit boards from silica, and use crystal oscillators for computers. There are few uses for raw quartz, so I don’t feel like I am losing anything using it on a few items. Plus, no need for oil products.

In my 1.0 run I've scoured hard drives for these alternates. I only got them at about the same time that I covered the whole map in radar coverage and I'm already looking to upgrade to super computer. But that requires plastic so now I might as well do a plastic based computer. When I finally had the alts! 😭

Genuine question I'd like an answer to: why does how it look matter? If it functions, that's what you want. Watching his lets plays has me curious how to spice my stuff up. Guess I've just been focused on progression personally.
@TotalXclipse
@TotalXclipse 8 месяцев назад
It really comes down to personal choice. If I'm playing a save for 500+ hours, I'd rather have something nice to look at, rather than a plain factory. I think I personally push down the road of nice looking factories too much, finding myself going back over everything. I think maybe the best approach is to create a small factory producing everything (not even efficiently) so that you can get through the tiers quickly, and then focus on building individual factories which look great :)
