Saw the video a year late! As a Lebanese living in the US I can't explain how much I miss Lebanon. Your video was a good reminder of what I'm missing and hopefully I'll go visit there soon.
The Lebanese mountains are beautiful, especially the hiking through Qadisha Valley, it’s an amazing experience and I will come back to Lebanon to go to see the majestic Ceadrs of Lebanon ❤
Hello Im Lebanese and living in lebanon ...a small tip ..you drink the coffee when you finish lunch and dessert ...trust me it tastes so much different ❤️👑👌🏻
I also highly recommend exploring Lebanon's mountains and villages (like Ehden). The landscapes are stunning, and the experience of hiking or simply enjoying the picturesque views is truly unforgettable. I suggest going with a local from Lebanon who can introduce you to the typical and delicious food that the region has to offer. 😍😍
Hi Julia and Matt, so happy that’s you enjoyed your Lebanese meal, and I dont blame you one bit ! It’s one of my favorite cuisine in the Mediterranean area. I always have sumac (my personal favorite) and zatar in my spice cabinet and also some pomegranate molasses in the larder. I am so envious of all the goodies that you have on your table. Here in the States it is now easy to find all the ingredients necessary to make some Lebanese or Turkish cooking, without going to a special ethnic shop, but going to the specialist middle Eastern shop is really easy and you got everything under one roof. I hope that you enjoy yourselves as Lebanon is an amazing place. Looking forward to further videos! Best wishes and A bientôt JosAz
I am breathless at the splendor of this table. It makes me want to take my fork, knife and spoon and plunge them straight into the screen - I cannot thank you both enough for pausing to take turns to share this splendor with us and I hope you felt just great finishing this meal. The last time I had Lebanese food was in Toronto in October 2019 and you have brought it all back to me in triple-strength. There is a little Syrian restaurant in Tucson that gets about as close as they can but no one does mezze like the Middle East and I am longing to return, and return hungry. Bless you for what you offer to us 😘
Hello Matt and Julia, Hope you are doing well . Yes, Lebanese Food is one of our favorite foods Harriet and I have been to Beirut. Three of our favorite dishes include Baba Ghanouj, Sfeeha and Falafel with Shawarma. Delicious Dishes ! Great Video Guys🥰 I wish we had Smell-o-Vision . Sending you much love Dear Friends ❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki from Richmond, Va.
Thank you so much guys! Really appreciate it! Ohh yes, we adoreee Baba Ghanoush too 😍 Can’t wait for both smell & taste-o-vision to become a thing! Dangerous though 😀❤️
The Lebanese Mountains are beautiful, especially the hiking through Qadisha Valley. It’s an amazing experience and I will come back to Lebanon to go to see the majestic Ceadrs of Lebanon. 🤓🌏
Glad to see you folks back and posting again! Absolutely love the food videos and how you try to really describe the food well, as if we were there with you. Safe travels!
Wow! Guys! Everything looks wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing so much of this wonderful food with us! It looked like at one point you were upset. I hope nothing bad happened. I love you two so much. I've watched so many of your videos, I feel I know you personally. I know that sounds crazy, but I know that happens on RU-vid. It looked like you did finally enjoy the wonderful meal, though, which made me very happy. Just from watching, I think the salad, the rolls and the humus would be my favorite. ❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much for this video. My background is Lebanese. We're not Arabs, but we are Levantine. Mediterranean people. And our cuisine is one of the best. I hope you enjoyed your stay. You guys are very polite and well spoken, very cultured. Thank you again, I have subscribed.

Some people like to argue about this from a political standpoint. But ancestrally, we come from the Canaanites and Caucasian populations. (The Phoenicians, broadly speaking). This is something we also knew, but every genetic study confirms this now. And We're proud of it. This is how the majority of us feel, we're proud of our history.
Describing the food was the first time I have noticed Julia's slight estuary English twang. A great video, very interesting place and food. I could almost taste some of the dishes. Two real foodies.
I loooove Lebanese cuisine. I think it's one of the most underrated. I go sometimes to a Lebanese restaurant here and like to order their "Lebanese mezze" which looks very much like what you had. I particularly love the Lebne, which I find similar to Indian Raita. And Julia, you are right, olive oil is life and the very main component behind mediterranean cuisine which rather recently made it popular as a "healthy cuisine"
@@COCKTALII It is a way of eating or rather a way of life, very mediterranean 🙂: Lots of different small portionned dishes instead of a one big plate with just a one meal in it
@@COCKTALII It is named differently in different countries, but the concept remains the same. I think the name "mezze" is mostly used from south eastern Europe/Turkyie.
@@andreamiller6200 I don't remember the name. It was near the UCLA campus, next to a petrol station and across the street from a Lebanese bakery owned by the same family.
This was just cruel. The presentation was gorgeous, your descriptions were mouth watering, the video was exquisite, and I am sitting here in Minnesota eating McDonald's. Oh, my!

I love you both so much, yur cinematography, teh precense in fron of the camera, the experiences have grown so much. So proud and happy for you both!!!! also I just eat but I'm pretty sure I'll be hungry again soon haha.
The coffee is supposed to be a palate cleanser, either after food, or with a dessert to balance out the sweetness inbetween sugary bites, it just makes you enjoy desserts more 😊
Julia I just love to see you eat ! I can almost taste it. Now I saw Matt film you, who filmed Matt while he had the camera on your plate ?? Great episode ! Thank you ! 🙏💕🌷
Hi!!! Matt and Julia, I hope you are doing well. Yes, Lebanese Food is one of our favorite foods. Three of our favorite dishes include Baba Ghanouj, Sfeeha and Falafel with Shawarma. Nice video, hope you guys come back to Lebanon for more adventures in the future, try reaching out to the mountains, there is a lot of hidden gems and nice villages waiting to be discovered., with cuisines and amazing local fresh ingredients and tastes.
I don't think I've had Lebanese food despite living in the Mediterranean for several years in the sixties. I use to love going out to different restaurants when I was younger but living north of Brisbane in Australia and with very limited options, I've sort of got out of the habit now. Looks fantastic. Always love your channel.
Guys!! That food looks bloody delicious and I want some! Right up my street! You’re both brilliant at describing the food especially as you travel throughout the world!!! 😳😃🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️
my dad had me eating it growing up his dad was a lebanese from mexico and then my great grandfather was from southern lebanon marjayoun, lived the last 40 years of his life in mexico city having arabic coffee, kibbe arak and shisha
It's not fair to say this is Lebanese cuisine because this is not only Lebanese cuisine , this is levantine or middle east cuisine many of these dishes belong to Syria or Türkiye or to another middle eastern countries .thanks for your video.
Well it's fair Because the Lebanese way is different Italy , Greece Turkey the Levant Balkan Amrenian we have similar food But each add their own tweaks that makes it different Already Fatooush and Tabouleh are Lebanese even in the culinary school in Syria they teach u it's Lebanese Lebaneh also started in Lebanon with Labneh balls Now if we talk mohamara All levent and turkey they do it it's not the same way So when I want a shawarma a Lebanese don't bring me a Turkish shawarma or I will shove it in your mouth deep. It's not the same So pple stop being stop and accept the fact that each has their own tweak. U know that grapes leave in Lebanon we have literally 20 ways to do the meat one without counting the veg. So yeah Lebanese elevated the food same as Syrians . U can't compare our food to the rest of mediteranean food
To be with you on your travelling is always amazing. I love the Middle East. Would happily go there again. I saw your episode on Syria before this. Beautiful. What a country. Let´s hope it recuperates from the war with time. I have many Syrian friends because of the war, and refugees came here to Sweden (haven´t been there though). I also love the Arabic architechture and as you the food. My favourite dessert is kunafah. I can also make it myself. Kunafah de Nablus ( westbank city)
Hi Matt and Julia, thank you for sharing this nice video of my beloved country Lebanon, I just wish I was there with you guys to take you on a tour around Lebanon. Enjoy your stay and please visit again
I have been to Beirut many years ago, love the vibe, the people and the food especially the food! May I ask how much the bill was for your wonderful mezze?
Fun to see julia after trying the local gin, the food looked great, did Julia try to marry the waiter afterwards? A nice couple fun to watch in Lebanon, have you thought of Svalbard island next?✌️♥️🇬🇧
Wonderful thanks 🙏 for your travels. As a Lebanese from the west i quite enjoy fry ups and particularly black pudding with tabouli & hummus and everything 😁🍻
I think Julia had gotten food drunk way before the gin came!!! I am not a gin fan but I would love to try everything to be had there. Atlanta, GA is a diverse city. I am going to see if I can find some of those dishes here for starters. Everything just looks so good!!! Thank you for the tour and can't wait to see more...
I love your videos and travels and passion I aswell love ancient Syria just subscribed to your chanel .. I wish u delved deeper into lebanese food this resturant you were recommended in hamra with the generator noise ..was a bad choice the food was not typical Lebanese ..and the muhamara is actually puréed walnuts and other nuts grinded with olive oil and capsicums peppers some sweet some chili
Hi ... I always enjoy watching European trying our meals 😂, just want to mention Mohamara is vegan dish, it is basically a breadcrumbs ( toast) , walnut,( paprika, tomato and sesame paste) pomegranates molasses. All in food processor Then add Olive oil, salt and cumin. And enjoy..the flavors 😅
Labaneh is actually Strained yogurt , it's eaten with bread and olive oil , and has many add ons throughout the entire middle east Ask for sour labneh balls next time you're in that reigon , you're welcome in advance 😂
That is one very cool video about Lebanese food 🙂❤. I've never seen a video like it. I had to go and cook some frozen kibbeh and chips and eat them while watching again. Not that they would compare to this feast. And some Gin and Basil too! Sahtein you guys
Good vlog. Julia - so curious as to how you have an almost perfect english accent. Other Russian vloggers have a distinct accent when speaking in English - but you don't. How did you accomplish that?
Just a thought Matt & Julia why not try a trip to Erbil the capital of Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) fantastic and varied middle eastern food and masses amounts of ancient culture including the famous Citadel of Erbil (Hawler in Arabic)
@Matt and Julia You will find the people there(who have suffered so much) incredibly friendly and welcoming to visitors. They open their hearts to those willing to learn about their culture and foods. Hope you can get there someday.
OMG. I could devour absolutely everything on the table ... with great gusto! And that's rare for a picky eater like moi! I wonder how you found this Beirut restaurant. Did you have a personal recommendation? How about your menu choices? Recommended? Or just old favourites? Cheers, Rupert.
Honestly Trinidad has a strong Syrian/Lebanese community but I've never been a fan of their cuisine, except for hummus. But, that food looked delicious and the kibbe was different. I would love to try that food. I don't mind the fatoush either but what you guys ate looked way more tasty. Enjoying Lebanon and that hummus made my mouth water...LOL!
Your choice of dishes look really good...yum Musakhan is not Lebanese food but instead a traditional Palestinian dish... however its quite popular to eat in Lebanon... Hommus is eaten everywhere in the region but its origionaly Egyptian... however the Lebanese kitchen has its own twist on making it... the bread your eating with is not pita bread, instead its arabic bread called khibiz, its bigger in size and much thinner than pita which is from Cyprus.
@@mikazukiml3531 no... only they spicing in hummus is Lebanese, which makes it the Lebanes version of hummus... but it origionaly is an Egyptian dish. Some Syrians claim its theirs because of Homs, and the word for chickpeas in arabic is Hommus which comes from Homs... but Egyptians were the created the paste+ tahinah ++...etc.
