We had a stressful day... things could have ended much worse. We share the story as well as some Nest cam footage of what happened... Scary incident in the pond with the dogs.

When Andrew said “ it was a normal day and then this happened.” That hit me hard it shows that we can’t take anything for granted and anything can change in seconds. I’m so thankful everyone was ok. I was scared when they were talking about not being strong swimmers

I feel like a lot of people hate on OFN because they "don't discipline their kids" but even if their ways don't agree with you, you have to give them credit. They've raised some very admirable children who have large careers in front of them and through all of the hate, they continue to produce good content. Love this family.

I'm not a parent but when you have kids you never really know what to expect and there is no "perfect parents" so I think they are doing good too. No one should judge someones parenting skills unless it is toxic but clearly all of the kids have a roof over their head, food, water and they are loved, they definitely aren't bad parents.

Wow this is so scary! Might be a good idea to have some life vests and a life ring near the pond and pool for emergencies? And might be time to hire a dog trainer for safety. I’m glad everyone’s ok.

This warmed my heart so much that chase literally woke up I didn’t even think twice about jumping in and trying to save him and then Andrew going and right after even though he knows he’s not a strong swimmer

Oh my you guys should put a fence around the pond or like around the area so they cant go in there without you guys letting them. But that's so crazy, I'm glad everyone was okay. I'm a very bad swimmer and have almost drown many times and it's absolutely horrible and scary.

I think if I was in this situation I would have burst down into tears, any thought of my dog getting hurt gets me in a mess. So brave of Andrew and Chase to act so quickly! 💗

Some dogs who swallow small amounts of water can end up with breathing problems and the symptoms don't start for 24 hours... so keep a eye on your poor doggy just in case because it's much better to notice things like that as soon as possible 💕

Oh my goodness!! How scary! I have to say it was very heartwarming to see how quickly the boys were there to help and that they just jumped right in without question. That shows their love for animals and for their family. 💙

That was a crazy way to start the day for sure! So glad everyone is okay! It's so sweet to see how protective Andrew is with you. You can tell that he wants to make sure that his Mom is okay and taken care of. I love seeing the close relationship you two have. I know you are close to all your children, but you and Andrew have been through more together.

I'm so glad everything turned out well. It's very upsetting when a family pet is in danger. They certainly can't express themselves. I must say, Tucker knows he's part of the family when EVERYONE is willing to risk their own life to rescue him. :) We have a small parrot, who we almost lost when a thread from a blanket wrapped around her throat. She was having trouble breathing.Took 20 years off of my life. Fortunately, my husband was able to get it off of her and she was fine. We weren't, but she was. So glad everyone is ok.

Thank goodness Andrew and Chase were okay after that. Hearing this incident reminded me of horror stories I've heard of people trying to save their pets and ending up hurt. I pray you'll never have another experience like this again.

That's super scary!! Glad everything ended up okay. Something similar happened to my dogs at our lake house a few years back. For sure not a fun experience.

My guess is Tucker's legs started to get stiff from the cold water. He obviously didn't know the water is barely above freezing and probably started to get hypothermia. That's my guess as to why he panicked and started swimming in circles. I'm glad everyone is ok!

Any kind of WATER with kids or animals scares me soooooo so much! I am so sorry you had to go through this and I am so thankful it all ended up ok! Praise the Lord Andrew and Chase were able to save Tucker and that Andrew is ok!

I hope things like this never ever happen again but just in case: when helping someone out of the water get yourself facing up, like you at lying on the water, get whomever you are trying to get out on your hip/ pelivic area also facing up or just making sure they can breath. Hold them with your hands while you kick your legs like you would in a breaststroke. This way you yourself are not in danger and you are more capable of actually bringing the other person/pupper to shore.

Poor Andrew and chase and tucker and it was so scary how tucker and chase nearly drowned in the pond and Andrew saved tucker life and thank you Andrew and chase for taking care of each other and I hope you are all ok now too and I really love our family nest so much and I love all of your family too love Linda

So glad you had the boys there to save him! At the end of the day he is a RETRIEVER, it’s in his blood to retrieve animals and they love water! I have a golden and after a similar experience I put a life vest on mine anytime we go on the water just to be safe! You definitely learn from the situation and that’s all the matters. 💓

Glad everyone was ok well done guys x you need some life preservers around the pond with long ropes! I live by the sea and the coast guard has had to go get many retrievers in the past that had swam out and gotten into difficulty!

Glad everyone is safe. Don’t blame yourself candi and KK. It all worked out. Besides them being in the water, would a shock color help? My cousin has a big dog and they are glad they have it for when it’s needed.

Thank goodness everyone is okay!! You guys should look into getting shock collars or even an invisible electric fence. Our shock collar has helped us out countless times. One of our best purchases for sure!!

this happened to me at a lake me and my family went to and I am on my schools swim team so of course my family told me to help my dog and I can relate with Andrew when he said that he could not breathe because that is what happened to me and I was so shocked and there was so much going through my mind but god really was on Chase, Andrew, and Tuckers side when this happened. Glad tht your dog is ok :-) This is for that , than this is important to put fences around the pool and pond . In addition I remember that one of the dogs was falling on the pool tarp in June 2019. This may be a sign that we should secure all of this. You could not always be here for see what your dogs make. Lucky the boys was there.Where I live we have an expression "never two , without three" with the pool and the pond that make twice already . This is a sign :( I don't remember if for the pool this was Dax or Tucker. But if this is the same dogs . Invested in dog "life jackets inflatable" (like that, every time that they want going outside put the life jackets inflable , like that you win time for going rescue them :-)

So incredibly frightening! I’m so sorry that happened! It would be great to get some training for the dogs (and yourselves) so that together you can learn specific commands that tell them exactly what you want. Dogs are very black and white, so because your language in the past has been associated with chasing the geese, you need a command that specifically tells them to return to you. Good luck xx

This was very hard to watch. My cat of 16 years. Was outside while my mom was taking me to school and it was raining and he was blind. He slipped and fell in my pool. And drowned. 😭 and it sucks even more to find them like that when ur just having a normal day 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This could've been a big tragedy. My fear isn't necessary anyone drowning. But in the moment of all this happening it could've caught KK or Candy. Don't just jump in like that again.

You might want to add a jon boat with a trolling motor to your fleet. In a pinch you could use the canoe or kayak paddles to propel the jon boat.

Definitely don’t block off the pond but maybe get a trainer to train the dogs to only go in the water when you say so. and get life preservers around the lake with long ropes. Glad everyone was safe💕
