I played that stupid vampire dating sim, where historical figures are re-imagined as hot anime men that look _nothing_ like their real life counterparts. Yes I dated a snowy haired Mozart softboy with a tsundere complex. Yes it was rewarding at the end. Yes I gave up a lot of money for this. Yes men I dated irl were disappointing me. Was so mad I gave it up before freaky Shakespeare's story was available for purchase.

Ashamed to say I played it. Warning, I played so long ago I remember almost nothing. My stance is to never, never buy anything in a free game, you should be able to have fun. But I came close because of ONE sunshine lady with ginger hair. I wept when talking, I wept when I didn't have currency to do some risque things and I wept even more after that. I did like the story and I did route of that dark tall brother of hers, but it got boring grinding and I left. Now I play *other* dating sims like a professional.

If anyone is still on their Dating Sim adiction, I reccomend The Arcana. Its an amazing free dating sim. It made me realize my attraction to big noses and clear eyes. Seriously tho, it has an amazingly thrilling story.

I’m a straight cis guy but for some reason in like 5th or 6th grade I played two dating sims pretty hard core. One was about a bunch of anime men bidding over you and your labor or something like that. The other one was a Princess type of thing where a whole bunch of anime princes wanted to date me. I have no regrets.

The pay-to-play thing happens whenever I play the dating sim Obey Me (I still play it). Due to leveling characters being a pain, it’s hard to beat the action parts to move on with the story. It is a pain in the butt, yet, I continue to play the game. There are some parts that irk me, one being the special events that make it seem like you get to be with the one you enjoy, only to have it all of the characters with you, or you refuse them all.
