It is impossible to build a tank that is the best in all types of terrain. The Merkava is thr best in class for Israel's specific circumstances.

The Pallies don't just use them against tanks since they've also fired them at trucks and buses. Iran supplies them with a range of missles that are fired into Israeli civilian areas sometimes by the hundreds. Hamas has a stockpile of 8,000 to 10,000 rockets and they've been firing more of them into Israel trying to overwhelm their Iron Dome missile defense system.

Yeah , we saw how those "more capable" NATO tanks performed in Ukraine.. With hundreds of them disable and destroyed in just the first week of combat. Neither NATO tanks or Israeli newest ones were designed to fight for modern wars , with heavy use of precision artillery that Russia also have , or the heavy use of remote mining weapons ,that can be deployed in real time , and attack from the top any tank or the Russian KA-52 attack helicopters sniping NATO tanks from a very safe 12km distance and or with the heavy use of kamikazi drones from Russia that can totally destroy those tanks or disable them ,depending where they hit. Unfortunately for NATO and Israel , Russia do have not only have quantity but also Quality too. So all this claims of game changing weapons from the west or even Israel , that will turn the war in favor of Ukraine is just propaganda and nothing else. Russia crushed NATO weapons , Artillery ,airdefenses and tanks and light armor in the hundreds in just a week and almost without losing any hardware or soldiers.
